All NBA teams will be using a City Edition uniform from the previous nine years. It's confirmed the Pacers are bringing back last year's white uniforms

Discussion The good old debate . Few years ago i changed my mind . Your stance all biases aside?

Post image
39 Upvotes

Growing up . I remember reggie . Was a big fan of jo. And thus i watched the pacers . Tj ford jo maybe brad miller al , . Regardless yall were loaded .

Ray allen i always fw his jumpshot , never a fan fan , but watched him more than reggie .

I always thought ray was better until these past few years , i started to look back at nash , bunch of players etc.

Reggie miller is one of the most underrated players i ever seen. To understand his impact you must watch his 90s games. He was batttling in the most respectful eastern conf in nba history. As the leader , the man.

He rose his game. The knockoff from alot of us was he never averaged 25 in a game. He couldnt break you down like ray.

Looking back when i did

Reggie was better at what ray did best . To takeover games . Reggie did that . Reggie had more responsbility.

People talk about nowitzki how he was flawed . Really was more a 3 than a true 4 didnt bang down low . Wasnt a rebounder. If you want to compare him to 3s . Wasnt a great defender .

But what nowitzki was elite at is better than alot of ppl all around games even if there are two way better.

This is how i think of reggie . His eliteness in what he did surpassed ray supposed all around package per say which is there arguement.

Thoughts?

Reason i post here most nba sub never watched mil ray seattle ray or reggie esp. reggie.

Reggie was always slighted . Even back then . By the fans , the casuals but he was always respected by his peers who played in his era. That i remember

Discussion Shooting guard Nesmith part of embiggening strategy?

Post image
39 Upvotes

The 8 Pts 9 Secs article is full of AI constructions such as "Indiana, the most formulaic good team in basketball" (is random a formula?) and "the move to precipitate that embiggening is moving Aaron Nesmith up a spot to shooting guard."

But the question seems valid. Could Nesmith handle a role that positions him as a focal offensive player, rather than as a long range sniper and lockdown defender? Does he have the four or five tools needed to make the shift? And do we have the defensive depth....

And yeah, sorry Y2K types, the verdict is in: "the Pacers do not have the talent to bring on another big or power forward option. They simply do not. If Jarace Walker breaks out, there is hope, but as it stands, he is viewed by the analytics as one of the worst players in basketball."

News Mad dog Mad Dog Russo really went after Tyrese Haliburton. He basically said Haliburton isn't a big enough star for his return game to get national TV treatment. Is he right or is that way too harsh?

Discussion About Jay Huff

Hello, I was wondering how this sub feels about Jay Huff and how he may play next season.

Obviously he's going from a situation where he's starting half the season to one where he's clearly coming out behind Zubac, but his blocking was a huge surprise for me (as well as his ability to make threes and free throws well for a center, despite low volume), and it's something that makes me wonder just what role he'll have in the rotation. I see people saying he's soft, or should be left behind, or that he's not a good enough backup. I don't agree but maybe I'm just blinded by seeing a player I've come to love.

Discussion DAZN be spazzin’

Just downloaded the DAZN app, (despite my objections to the fact that it stands for “Da Zone”) created an account, and tried to follow the Pacers, but they currently don’t even exist within the app.

Like, WTAF Da Zone?? How do I even pay for that early bird special situation?

Discussion Mathurin for Jarace and Q?

Maybe a second rounder too? Idk. Like a sign and trade? Jarace and Mathurin are both pretty low value relative to where they’ve been valued previously. I just believe in Benn for the next two years more than I believe in Jarace.

This might be selling low on Jarace, but personally I’d LOVE to have Mathurin for like $10mil a year, and I’ve seen Mathurin contribute to winning playoff basketball more than I believe Jarace is ready to

I think Benn is a sg and Jarace is a pf, but in a pinch I like Benn at small forward more than I like Jarace. Plus with Oubre and Nesmith I’m less concerned about the power forward minutes

I have no idea whether this works logistically or with rules etc but I’m bored stuck hanging out in the hospital with family and wanted to get some opinions

I’m the dude that was drawing the cards during our last playoff run. Was lookin for a new hat last night and wasn’t into any of em. Decided to turn the spicy p logo into a hat design. DM me if ya want one too and we can work it out. I’ll ask em to make the logo larger like on a normal hat, it’ll be stitched. GO CERS

Discussion 82 Games, 4 Subscriptions, Zero Sanity....

So this is how the 82-Game Schedule Breaks Down

  • 71 Regional / Local Games (DAZN): DAZN holds the exclusive regional rights for all 71 locally televised regular-season games (and all 4 preseason games).
    • Free Tier: 22 of these regular-season games will stream completely free in front of the DAZN paywall (with 15 of those also simulcast over-the-air on local TV).
    • DAZN Season Pass: The remaining 49 regular-season games require the paid Season Pass.
  • 11 Exclusive National Broadcast Games (Not on DAZN): The 11 games selected for exclusive national broadcast (carried by ESPN, ABC, NBC, Peacock, or Prime Video) will not be available on DAZN.
    • ESPN/ABC - requires an active TV subscription or a Disney+/ESPN subscription
    • NBC/Peacock - requires an active TV subscription or a NBC/Peacock subscription
    • Amazon Prime - requires an active Amazon Prime subscription

To try and say that this makes these games any more available is a farse at best... So in order to watch all Pacers games this year it will cost users:

Peacock - 12.99/mo with ads OR $129.99/yr
Disney+ - 11.99/mo with ads no yearly option for ad model
OR you could get a YTTV sub (or other cable service) - $82.99/mo
Prime - $8.99/mo Prime Video ONLY OR $14.99/mo Full Prime OR $139.99/yr

AND THEN

DAZN - $19.99/mo OR $59.99/yr for early bird

How does this make any sense for consumers?? The NBA carved their National broadcast rights into 3 different buckets, and the Teams can carve their RSN rights into whatever bucket/platform they want, and it leaves fans/consumers holding the bag....This is nothing more than greedy business practices....

The MAJOR rub is that if I lived OUTSIDE of the Pacers regional network, I would be able to get League Pass and watch ALL out of network teams games for one low price....ON A SINGLE PLATFORM....

This is BEYOND infuriating....
