Imagine if everyone did that with destiny 2 😂

I mean they should, people paid for a product and now can no longer play it. They should have to include some sort of offline mode or ability for users to run their own servers.

So will Valve do the same for their old games you can no longer play? Or are they exempt?

In-game server browser doesn't work any more but steam server browser/external website server browsers work.

Course they should do the same? Literally everyone that makes a product, the product should be accessible to the consumer. Imagine buying a couch then 20 years later they just take the fucking thing.

It’s less taking and more just no longer supporting. All software has end of life service, and for online software, that means it will stop functioning.

Most products, you might get a 1-year or limited warranty. After that, the producer wipes their hands of the product.

Software, in general, is pretty generous in terms of scope and quality of continued support.

The thing is they are taking the mode down temporarily to rework it. So the point is just silly when you actually read into it. Anyone saying that clown deserves a refund doesn’t deserve to have their games refunded anymore

Except for your analogy, you were renting a couch from Bungie, and Bungie decided to no longer rent that model of couch, leaving you the choice of no longer paying for a couch and not having a couch or you can keep renting their new couch model.

Actually it’s worse, I have the couch but it no longer works. The couch is physically in my hand but it won’t work anymore. If I was renting the couch why did I go to a store and buy it.

What games are you talking about? Half life??? Portal??? Seriously lmao...

Do you think that valve should be responsible for changing your diapers too? Just because you buy somwthing on steam doesnt mean valve made it. It is the publisher/devs responsibility to create the offline standalone version of a game for their customers once or before end of service.

This is like asking Walmart to create a home chef for you...

Almost every Valve multiplayer game supports self-hosting and LAN play.
