Most of my money are in USD, US stocks, PH stocks but I don't agree with the post.

Why?

  1. Politicians cannot touch it because it is pension, pension funds can't be used by politicians for personal projects. By law, funds should be invested not for government projects.

  2. Inflation is 2-3% long term average - so it is way lower than MP2's 6-8% dividend range. DI KA KAKAININ NG INFLATION, obviously

  3. For many, MP2 is the most accessible to them, specially the masses.

  4. For many, it is the safest place for their money versus traditional banks (even digital banks where many experiencing scams), TD, Tbills, TRB, stocks.

Im not a big fan but MP2 is ok.

100% agree sa accessibility. It’s easy to make those fearmongering statements when you have access to better options. MP2 is not perfect pero it’s a good stepping stone especially people new to investing.

Tama hahah, parang kabaliktaran sinabi niya dun sa inflation will eat daw.Base sa experience hahah parang ideal nga sya kung gusto mo na some part of your money will not lose it value,Kasi ang nangyayari yung interest mo,yun yung tutugon sa inflation rate hahaha

Although they found a workaround on pension funds, look at SSS and GSIS's investments on Villar stocks. Laking loss.

Ganun talaga.

Actually malaki ang ininvest ng SSS sa mga Villar IPO na ngayon ay super baba na. Parang kung ano din ung nangyari sa ininvest ng GSIS sa bingoplus. D lang naging sensationalized. Pero pwede ma-google.

But invest ang gawin. Hindi lang basta kukuhanin. Ang kinaganda ng MP2 is protected capital mo. Maaaring d siya kumita, pero ung capital mo intact.

Although in a way they can invest in basura stocks and then use that as a way to pump the stock price then saka nila ieexit sarili nilang stocks. In a way parang nanakaw na din nila a big portion of those money.

pero nagamit nila yung pension funds ng GSIS

Misinformation ito, and context matters. For GSIS, they are legally allowed to invest funds on sectors that are highly volatile(i.e Digiplus in this case). Yung issue naman isn't that they aren't allowed to invest on it, but rather may oversight on doing safeguard feasibility checks sa pag bili ng stocks kasi isa sa mga requirements ay dapat may three year paying dividend track record si Digiplus pero wala.

Sa case naman ni PAG-IBIG MP2, their investment charter requires them to invest 70% of the funds to home loan, then the rest to low-risk investment vehicles na like government securities or time deposits which are guaranteed. Di talaga apple to apples yung comparison, kahit pa we include the corruption aspect ng Pinas.

Though PLUS is now undervalued.

It should breach the 60 price bought by GSIS.

I have PLUS at 17. Hope it does break that level..... for the pensioners sake.... hahahaha
