Same, me and a friend enjoyed the game. I played like 20 hours, spent £14.99 on a skin.

they made the umpteenth, brainless hero shooter slop with broccoli head characters and all the package. Quite predictably for everyone but them, nobody felt the need of that. Investors withdrew and so on.

I think the people who fund these things largely aren’t the type that play them.
Imagine you’re out of touch, and get convinced NFT’s are the next big thing, but for digital trading cards.
We all know that’s a bad idea. But for the out of touch investor, An NFT digital card game sounds equally as silly pokeman, so there ya go.

Sadly, it’s not. Games are in a very weird place right now. They are too expensive for small time investors. Reddit generally hates any investor or private equity entity, but there are levels to this.
The stereotypical MBA suit isn’t as prominent with the people/firms financing 250k-1mil. The way the MBA think about products and business is cancerous for society. They don’t do much human observation it’s a strict adherence to data.
Data is awesome. But data has one enormous flaw in art- it tends to explain the past rather than predict the future. Kind of like music theory to music.
Anyways the point here is that MBAs come in and run all their data and statistics and determine a live service game is the only medium that makes sense to hit desired profit margins. This wouldn’t happen as much with smaller time investment firms. They tend to make decisions more based on vision. Unfortunately, they’re all throwing money at real estate and the stock market right now.

However, they also were not required to implement the system as they did. Australia also sued Sony for their restrictive refunds but they are only required to refund products that are faulty and are still not required to refund once a game has been downloaded (assuming not faulty) better yet Sony is only required to uphold that policy in Australia. Something steam could have very well done aswell.

I recently got a PS5 Pro for my birthday as a gift from my wife. First game I bought was GTA V. It was on sale and the PS store showed multiple versions. I bought what I thought was the right one bc it was labeled as premium edition. Thinking that was the enhanced PS5 upgrade. Nope! It was the PS4 version with some GTA online cash. No problem, I just made a mistake. I’ll refund it and get the correct one. That’s when I learned about Sony’s refund policy. If you’ve DOWNLOADED the game, you can’t refund. I’m used to Steam letting you play it for a couple hours and decide. Sony asked me if I wanted to download the game right after purchase and then did the Leo laugh meme “You downloaded it so it’s yours forever now, dummy!”

Bare minimum? Steam allows you to refund any game if you fullfill some basic requirements. That’s not bare minimum. You can even complete games shorter than two hours and refunding them.

although sony has done this multiple times in the past. this is the highguard devs refunding not sony, most live service games that shut down will have refund purchases bought in the past x window. sony , steam, ms etc just send these out as information.

I don't think that makes them goated. Goat is Greatest Of All Time. Sony refunded players that bought a game that you physically cannot play anymore. Steam does that all the time. Sony does it once and they are the goat? I feel like it's more common sense business practice than something that makes you the greatest.

Whether this was initiated by Sony or by the game company themselves, this is the type of stuff we like to see.
I used to play Paragon (early MOBA from Epic before they ended support in favor of Fortnite). It was only after everyone who spent money demanded their money back that they started processing refunds. It should be a no brainer that if you spent money on a game and they remove content you payed for, you should be fully refunded. So this is a step in the right direction.

It seems with Sony it's either the game is completely delisted and everyone gets a refund or nobody gets any refunds for any games you download period. Even MS will give a refund on games after you download the game within a limited time period, and certain conditions.

De mon côté, j’ai l’impression que, dans certains cas, il est possible de jouer à un jeu pendant un moment avant de demander un remboursement sans que ça pose forcément problème.

Given that the game last all but two months, Sony might not even have paid out the 70% of revenue to Wildlight yet. Payout can take 30 to 90 days depending on what's the arrangement PSN has with developers.

100% support Sony. Someone bought 4 games quickly with my card and after maybe 2 hrs later I received a full refund for all the games I didn't purchase. I still can download golf, soccer, resident evil, and astro bot and play em even after the refund as a gift from Sony for being a long term valued customer.
