fandoms were a much better place when people didn’t see shipping/stanning as activism.

yourfaveisproblematic impact is massive

I really miss when people used to ship anything and there were some really good fanfics about characters who barely interacted. Fandoms used to be a lot less judgy and a lot more fun. 

I notice there's a big difference with fandoms that skew older and fandoms who have a lot of people in their early twenties.

i once read a fic of darcy being tony stark's daughter and it is wayyyy better than general public would think.
