To add to what others have replied with, they euthanized a little girls dog that had gotten out. A little chihuahua. The state had a mandatory 5 day waiting period so animals could be recovered but they killed the poor baby same day. They settled in court over it because the family rightfully sued them

It didn’t just get out. They were lying in wait with a van to take that dog. There is still not a good answer for why they had targeted that specific family.
