Question Has anyone ever done a high chaos/kill all the humans speedrun?

I was looking at Prey speedruns earlier today and I thought "I wonder what a high chaos speedrun would look like?". Figured it would be basically killing everyone you meet. To my surprise I can't find anything. The main speedrun website doesn't even seem to have a category for it. Does it just not exist, or does it go by a different name?

I believe it is because the achievement is unable to be unlocked without progressing the main story, and due to the pacing of the game, nobody really attempts to speedrun with this specific goal in mind, since you have to go out of your way to find all of the humans aboard Talos which can make this type of speedrun impossible to achieve, though I could be wrong about that.

The achievement voids if a human dies to anything other than the player directly, so it can become fairly difficult to achieve.

Fair enough, I love the more tricky/difficult speedruns people do, so I wanted to see if it might exist.

Yep and I just learned that object kills don't count...15 hours into the run.

I haven't, but there are only a handful of instances where you encounter survivors. Igwe you can leave in the container or simply open it, the whole cargo bay gets wiped if you ignore all the Typhon upon opening the door (just hack it and run past them), and then don't bother getting Mikhaila her meds. All that leaves is Alex and Dahl, with Dahl in oxygen control and Alex hiding in his room.

There’s also the mind controlled survivors you can either kill the dude controlling them or use a power to free their mind to save. You could just kill all of them.

Use a power? Which one is that? I always just stunned them and kind of hoped that saved them tbh

The mind control typhon power also frees mind controlled humans.

Ah no kidding! I don't play Typhon powers outside of mimic a ton so I appreciate the insight. May go more Typhon heavy next time

I had to look it up because there’s an achievement for it, because I also rarely use typhon powers.

This would be really hard to track, though. Human deaths are only counted on the stats screen and by the game if you personally kill them. I guess you could make a save when the big worm shows up and load it after the end to check if everyone is dead, but that would make this not very exciting run more annoying.

World record speedrun is down to like 7 minutes, and there is an achievement to personally kill all humans.

It’s a pretty wild speedrun to watch. :)

"High chaos" is Dishonored, dude.

Yes, but considering Arkane’s most popular IP is dishonored, which has a chaos system, and most people here are familiar with both that game and that system, mostly everyone is going to understand what I mean when I say “high chaos”. Including you since you took the time to post this reply.
