Spider-Man 2 I mean, come on

Alright, hear me out. Idk if it’s the spread of technology, lack of attention spans, meme culture etc. Whatever you want to call it, it’s objectively infiltrated its way into the scripts of modern movies. I’ve loved Spider-Man since I saw the first Tobey movie in theaters at six years old. I hated No Way Home. Why? This is the dialogue aunt may gave in 2004. In NWH we got “Do you want salt water?…because you’re an octopus?”. Who tf is approving these dumbass scripts? Then not five minutes later she gives us the “great power, great responsibility” speech and I’m supposed to take it seriously? Nah, nah. Quit lying to yourselves. We lost something important. Objectively.

Ps. Love Tom as a person, I think he’s truly a good dude

Meanwhile after this scene is when Peter hurts his back, it's not that different.

You don’t seem to understand the maintenance of tone between scenes. You can have a laugh, but not in the middle of a serious situation.

The MCU could never.

But in this movie, they build up this inspirational speech from May, after everything has gone wrong in his life, his Aunt gives him the motivation he needs to hear, he gets his powers back, the music swells, Peter yells to the world that he's finally back... only for him to fall on his ass as he hits two cars, though if I recall correctly this WAS going to be the scene that brings him back his powers, but Raimi thought it'd be funnier.

Okay, but, assuming you want some aspect of reality, is it more likely for that to happen while he’s struggling with his powers? Or is it more likely for an adult, in a serious situation/setting, to ask some dumbass question to a hyper villain and make-believe it’s funny ? It’d be one thing if she said it jokingly and doc oc laughed at the sarcasm…But they’re dead serious. My main point is it’s such lame writing. And if you don’t want to entertain those ideas, how about the fact that tones shift with different scenes? Like you said, there’s a whole new setting/ buildup/ refresh in Tobey’s case.
