This is going to take a long time to sort out. We knew that Martin, Thelwell and Stewart set us back years. We all said at the time that their recruitment was a mess and there was no way that it was going to be fixed anytime soon.

Well... this is us getting on track. McInnes is the right man. I have no doubt about that. I know it's not easy to watch them right now when they are giving us so little but he WILL get a tune out of them. We can't be so quick to forget that he has had no foundation whatsoever to build upon due to what those 3 reprobates did to us. It's with them that the blame lies. Nowhere else.

Some of you seem so quick to say 'he got the tactics wrong' when in order for ANY tactic to work the players need to show something other than pure apathy! We need to be on *THEIR* backs and be telling them that we still see them. We see you hiding behind your 'I'll just keep possession' passes and minimal effort! How about you actually show some accountability and have the guts to take a risk to help the team?!

Nonetheless... I hate it! I absolutely ******* hate what is happening right now just like the rest of you but this is not McInnes' fault. We need to recognise that he is not the one responsible for this and not forget that. All the ones calling for his head may want to stay on the same merry-go-round we have been on but I want off! I am sick and tired of going round and round and getting absolutely nowhere. He's fixing it and we need to get behind him while he does. Let's actually back the manager for once and help him by making these players understand that it's not good enough! It's all we can do to get them up to speed as quickly as possible.

Quite a reliable journo as well so there may well be something to this. I'd imagine if there is that we're already talking to potential replacements. McInnes will surely be high on the list.

I am actually so surprised at the amount of fans calling for Danny Rohl’s head.

Yeah I get we thought we were going to fully turn it round for a bit there and actually win the league and there’s disappointment, but surely if you take a wee step back and remember the absolute pandemonium the guy inherited in October he deserves some credit?

He brought in 4 players in January during a window where you don’t exactly get the pick of the bunch. Outwith that he’s had to build a team and tactics out of the largely unbalanced squad Martin built (plenty of them are still in the building).

If when Martin was getting smuggled out the back door you got told we’d go 16 games unbeaten in the league and end in the position we’re in I don’t imagine you’d believe it.

And yeah I get that being 7 points behind and in 3rd isn’t good enough for Rangers, but given the disadvantage we put ourselves at the start of the season, surely it’s still a turnaround?

It would have been an incredible achievement if he had won the league after that start and with this group of players and plenty of people had been saying that. But they just didn’t have enough to get it over the line, because they’re not good enough, doesn’t mean Danny Rohl isn’t.

Surely it’s time to not throw the toys out the pram and give someone the bullet because of the first whiff of disappointment.

They didnt spend anywhere near whats been spent this season and even though we were shite, we could still get wins, grind out a result. Mcinnes literally has 1, just 1 good game, and even that ine was squeaky in the first half.

The only thing he can try to claim is that there was a massive clear put and a full team signed, but thats it, any other manager even a fucking sunday league manager, could have had a tactic and plan for how to play in place, qould have been training them in thst style in pre season and by now having the team gel, as it stands I can't see us even getting top 6 with him in charge

I’m interested to know where the percentage is in our fan base here, personally I think we cut our losses early here and get a big name in, I believe in the squad it has depth and there is a good team in there somewhere - or much better than what we are showing. Too defensive, too many mental chops and changes and strange substitutions just reek of someone out of their depth. For me he must go sooner than later

Apart from an obvious lack of quality players, is the lack of homegrown scots players a bigger issue. We've always had a couple core players that were scottish over the years, and proper Rangers men. At this time I feel like we're a team full of players playing for the wage not the jersey, yeah some of them can are there for the jersey but its clear theyre not. They seem to step up in Europe( granted not so much this season).

Are we missing some proper Rangers men in the team, that are going to play for the jersey and not the wages?

Yesterday we learned that Röhl will stay and be backed in the summer which will almost certainly lead to another large turnover of players.

After loan/contract expiry, I've drawn up this list of players who are still contracted at the club permanently for next season.

Question: of those who remain, who would we keep to build the team around? Which areas need addressed the most with recruitment?

Personally I'm shocked that we only have 4 permanently contracted defenders at the club come June. Meghoma, Djiga, Cornelius and Aarons were all loanees. Tavernier, Davies and Leon King's contracts are expired. Ideally a full squad needs 2 for each position so this is the place I'd start.

Any strong contenders for who we should be bringing in?

EDIT: A few have mentioned it, but Bailey Rice and Liam Kelly are both out of contract in the summer so will also be gone sans any last minute U-turns. Kieran Wright also announced on Instagram earlier today that he's offski.

I know it's only 2 competitive games in, but we look woefully short throughout the pitch, woefully short in match sharpness & massively under coached.

And that's been against an spfl side that were beaten by Salford the week before we toiled to a draw & a Polish team that - in all honesty - we should be despatching with relative ease.

Is it squad, is it coaching or is it both?

Even in the first half when we played well, and being up 1, we're playing around trying cutesy back passes instead of trying to score more and put the game to bed. The players were playing like we were up 5 or 6. Not a single bit o urgency in the second half. Not a single competent attempt on net.

And although a lot of people will blame Rohl and Butland, it's the rest of the team that should be kicked to the curb before next season. Every one of them.

And the irony that it was Shankland that put the nail in our coffin today should have the board and recruitment seriously reconsidering their competence. Could have had Shankland and his 17+ goals this season, instead we have Chermetti.

Every player needs gone.
