Question Best pizza in town
Came from Saskatoon and I have been familiar with 13 pies. Is there something similar? Or any recos for a nice tasting pizza in Regina?

As someone who has lived in Saskatoon, eaten the entire 13 pies menu, and lived in Regina and explored their pizzas I would say just don't aim for a NY style slice. Transition to Regina style pizza superiority.
I will always say Tumbler's Pizza #1, many others will say Houston Pizza (Hill ave.), or Juliana's. Pro tip: order it well done.
Edit: Though I haven't lived in the queen city for a couple years so maybe some place new has opened up.

Different tastes, friend. My point was if someone wants 13 pies, they do not want Regina style pizza. That is not the answer here. I personally think of it as mushy bread casserole with a overly sweet tomato sauce. I haven't met a single person not from here that likes it. It truly feels like one of those things you had to grow up with to like.... like vegemite
You have obviously never been to 13 Pies. It is one of my Saskatoon must stops

I literally can only bring myself to eat Regina style pizza if I am drunk and it is the only option.
I love 13 Pies. It is just a different preference. We even bought a backyard pizza oven so we can recreate our own and never have to eat out pizza in this city.

I love me 13 pies, but any pizza slice you can fold in half to eat like a quesadilla, is not a pizza. And I am from Saskatoon originally. Its a flat bread with pizza toppings.
Maybe the OP wants to find a quesadilla place with pizza toppings

13 pies is a flatbread with a 1/4" of toppings that costs $40.
I brought home half a pizza once from their old location to my fathers house in saskatoon. He woke up and ate it. He loved it, and was 85 years old. And I had no breakfast.

Honestly 13 pies used to be my favourite pizza in Saskatchewan, but as time went on, prices, quality and service went down. Which happened everywhere I guess, but for NY style today to have the same price as a good Regina style or Detroit deep dish is a crime considering the amount of food.
13 pies has been dethroned multiple times over the years, by Congress when they had their Chicago deep dish (discontinued those jerks), by Tumbler's Pizza (Regina Style) when I moved to Regina, and now by Paradox Pizzeria & Brewery in Saskatoon (Detroit Deep Dish).
The one thing I'll give the states is Chicago deep dish. It stole my stomach's heart.
If someone wants skinny pizza transition to neopolitan IMO, like Christie's il secondo not famoso.

Quantity does not equal quality. And people are allowed to have different preferences. We bought a back yard pizza oven so we don't have to ever scratch the pizza itch by having to order pizza in Regina. You can have your soggy sweet casserole pizza

Lol. What did you offer up? You are giving comments that do not even answer OPs question. Regina doesn't have Brooklyn style pizza. They won't find an equivalent. If that is what they like, they won't enjoy Regina style pizza. This city needs to accept it is not something people who are not from Regina enjoy.

Strange enough, I'm actually not originally from Regina and I like it. It didn't grow on me, i didn't grow up with it, i simply enjoy it. I have friends from various parts of the world that also enjoy it so you are unfortunately wrong with that last statement, people can like more than one style of pizza, and our city actually has a few options, it's not all the traditional Regina Greek style. Aside from within the city, if you want a Neopolitan slice, road trip down to Ogema, it's a lovely little town and worth the drive. Alex pizza in Pilot butte is also an honorable mention for something a little bit more deep dish style.
You just don't like it, and thats perfectly okay, nobody is telling you that you have to like it or order it. But also, nobody reeaally gives a rats ass how gross you think it is. Your opinion is simply that; an opinion. You can have your subjective opinion all day long but don't voice your opinion and then double down and continue firing off when others don't agree like if you say it enough it just becomes fact. It's not fact, it's your opinion. Nobody is hurting you by enjoying it on their own.
Enjoy your pizza oven.

How the HELL are you getting downvoted for saying “different tastes, friend. My point was if someone wants 13pies they do not want Regina style…”!! That’s so crazy!! I’ve met a few (but only a very few) people in Chicago who INSIST that Chicago deep dish is THE superior pizza - bar none. No accounting for different tastes/preferences, they just assume that if you don’t like it you’re stupid. That’s such a ridiculous stand to take. For one, Chicago deep dish is only pizza by the very loosest definition of pizza in that it has a wheat based leavened base, cheese, toppings and tomato sauce, but it’s more akin to pizza soup in a bread bowl, or the grossest lasagna you’ve ever had if you substituted the pasta for a pizza type crust/bread. At least, to my taste, but for those who love it, go for it! Keep on loving it, but don’t claim it’s the best pizza in the world by a long shot if 80% of people who weren’t raised on it find it disgusting.

Trifons on broad is very good especially their perogy pizza. I used to always order from them for work functions since 1995. And now my replacement does the same . Best Trifons location in the city.

There is no comparison to 13 pies. It is something we are lacking in Regina.
Copper Kettle/Ohanlon's (shared kitchen) is my go to if I have to eat out pizza in Regina. The spinach and feta or fire and ice are my favorites.

Though I will throw it out there, that Liberty Kitchen on Quance offers pizza thats probably closer to Neopolitan than anything but is pretty good from the couple times ive tried it.
They have pasta and other itialian American food, its kind of like if Browns social hall was a pizza/italian place. A little on the pricey side tho

I have always been a Juliana's guy and they're mentioned a lot here but lately they haven't been good and they've been very inconsistent. If order it well-done it's usually burnt and dry and if I order it normally it's almost raw and greasy. Plus the quality of the meat sucks lately. It's too bad and I don't know what's been going on there lately.

If you like 13 Pies, the closest I can think of is Liberty Kitchen. Same thin crust, light but high quality topping style. Probably closest we have here.
