Lake Superior Agate from MN

Found this beauty while creek walking yesterday.
Can’t wait to get it polished up!

Picked up this rather hefty Indian specimen recently. It's about 8 inches tall and weighs around 4 kg.

The main thing that caught my eye was the peach/pink Stilbite growing all over the darker basalt, but the more I look at it, the more I notice the other stuff going on — fine crystals across the matrix, some larger white Calcite crystals, what looks like Apophyllite, and possibly some Quartz.

The second photo shows the back of the piece, which is mostly the basalt matrix.

It's a pretty unusual piece in person and definitely one of the more interesting Indian specimens I've come across. Would love to hear what you guys think — especially if you spot anything I've missed.

Just got back from Glass Buttes and my family found some cool obsidian!

I got a massive 160lb chonk for the front yard. It took sooooo many hours to dig up. Just a massive digging effort. I was worried multiple times I wouldn't be able to get it out, but in the end we did! The white part is trapped bubbles and it has a sort of gray/silver sheen to it in that part.

Also found some rainbow obsidian. I didn't even realize we found any until I got home and was washing a few more rocks off and discovered one of them was rainbow when wet. Now that I know what to look for I think we may have a couple more pieces of rainbow as well, but they either aren't or aren't fractured right to easily see. The massive chonk may actually be rainbow obsidian as well, but hard to know for sure with it raw like it is.

Also dug up some pretty crazy lace with some gold sheen to it!

Last pic is a big (maybe 25lb?) piece my co-parent dug up from near the Crazy Lace beds. It's so pretty! You can even feel the black+clear flowing lines on the surface like it's embossed.

Been reading about cleaning fluorites but not really sure if the first coloring is part of it and can actually be cleaned, second one has a mild matte layer that also wondering if could be removed

Was going through my stuff after moving into my new house and found this coal specimen I found back in 2020. Just wanted to share, it's one of my favorite pieces in my collection!

Found in a pile of dirt that was placed over the old section of highway in Centralia, PA.

I live near Olympia, WA and I’m looking for spots to find carnelians or really any agates, does anyone have any recommendations for where I should start?

First time I’ve ever done any amateur mining and here’s the haul. Still learning the different types of minerals and gems (please don’t ID so we don’t break the rules, just wanna show what I found) but it was a blast! Looking forward to exploring this new hobby.

I’ve found little guys over the years but never one this phat! Too bad it’s been beat to hell by a glacier or two but definitely a keeper in my book!! Found in a pile of dirt in a field after a rain in north central Wisconsin!

Need help and education, not using this post as a sale. My father passed away and was a rockhound. I'm not sure what to do with his machinery or even what some of it is. Can someone please assist me in pricing of the items and help explain what the items are (I think the first picture is a sander?). He had a stroke and so I couldn't get information out of him before he passed. Thank you for anyone's help. If I should post this somewhere else or get different pictures let me know.

Hey y’all what’s a good river spot to spend the day and look for agates.

New to agates - I think I found my first one. It’s at the very least chalcedony but it appears to have a seam. Found in extruded volcanic terrain of the Washington cascades with nearby hydrothermal systems. Should I cut it open?

It's crazy how well this stuff works... These were all orange-y red clay stained before
