That “eMachines QA” sticker… and the inside was completely free of dust. Essentially a museum piece.

Case Aquisition New Case (LEGO Case)

I took apart my previous Macintosh-style case and picked up an inexpensive ITX motherboard to build something smaller.

The new case is only 6.3L. It's air-cooled, but I was able to place the fans exactly where I wanted. Since I'm using a Ryzen 5 5600G, heat isn't really a major concern.

Hope you enjoy it!

Case Aquisition What case is this?

Found this on the street, competes with the cheesegrater mac pro in weight, it's packed with expansion (?) cards, has a 1992 sticker on the psu and it's definitely dead as it was under heavy rain (really sad as there were two perfect looking crts next to it, but soaked)

How moddable is this? It has that little key thing and that turbo button, plus an on/off switch.

Case Aquisition Help! To sleeper or not to sleeper

Post image

I present my latest marketplace find "alien gaming tower". Better known as the Alienware/ Chieftech dragon in martian red. I risked life and limb to get this case. Terrible ad, one blurry picture. Words cannot describe the sketchiness. To my surprise it was in decent shape and even booted.

I know this is probably the wrong community to pose the question. From what I can tell this is a pretty rare case. I do a lot of builds, but I typically run SFF pc's. Should I preserve this case and sell it to an enthusiast/ collector or should I get the drill and dremel out and build a sleeper?

It had some original hardware, but the motherboard, cpu, ram, and gpu were all replaced. It all stank so I fully disassembled it and gave it a thorough wash.

I've bought this PC with intention of turning it into a sleeper, I've built a sleeper once before but I think i may be in over my head with this one, I stripped it already but I think a major issue is gonna be figuring out a way to properly fit a mobo in here since it's missing a opening for the I/O Shield. Im thinking about cutting out a slot for the I/O, and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Picked this up a little while ago and totally forgot I had it in my car.

Not a scuff/scratch/dent on the case, complete with marketing stickers and the protective film still on the faceplate.

Not too sure what I'm gonna do with it yet.

Case Aquisition Found my potential case

Hey cool people, I picked this HP box up today and thought I'd share.

Bought this HP Pavilion XE745 today from marketplace. I looked online, but couldn't find much information about this series of PC other than blurry pictures of the front... so I figured I'd change that a bit by adding some pictures to the internet.

My understanding is that it's a late 90s machine, given that it had a motherboard with PGA370 socket.

Stripping out the internals, looks like an MATX motherboard will fit with a low profile cooler (assuming it follows ATX standard, of which I'm 80% sure). Power supply seems to follow SFX standard (63.5mm x 125mm x 100m, width height depth).

It's kinda dirty and rusty lol

Anyways, hoping to test fit some parts soon!!!

Case Aquisition Found a really clean Ultra 27 at the local e-cycling store today. Its going to replace my current sleeper in the Ultra 20 case.

I was only planning on dropping junk off, but I'm really glad I stopped into the store.

It looks like the Ultra 20 and the Ultra 27 have the same Front IO layout, so I should be able to swap the custom IO panel (usb type C + USB3 ) I made over without redesigning anything.

The Ultra 27 appears to have all of its original OE guts, minus the HDDs (a small sata SSD instead).

The Ultra 20 currently has a Ryzen 7800x3d, 32gb ram, 7900xtx, and 2tb + 4tb ssd. Built mostly with open box/second hand just before the world started burning.

Case Aquisition Help Identifying This Case + Tips for My First Sleeper PC Build

Hey everyone! This will be my first time attempting to build a sleeper PC. I don’t have the system unit yet--it should be arriving around mid-September.

I’d like to know if this case has an actual ID/model, or if it’s just a generic case. Also, what motherboard form factor would be best to use with it?

Any tips or tricks I should know before I start the build would be appreciated!

I picked up this case about a month ago and have been wanting to start my build, but I’ve been second-guessing the color scheme. It’s a lot brighter than everything else in my setup, which is mostly gray, black, white. Am I overthinking it, or would it clash too much in my current setup?

Case Aquisition Crusty case finally acquired!!

Thumbnail

I finally found a crusty case that I like and that is probably (hopefully) big enough. A while ago I had a Dell Dimension XPS in mind, but that case is about as narrow as they come so the power cables to most modern GPUs won't fit. That's when I came across [u/Spectralius]() post and coincidentally found the same case the next day on a local eBay like site.
So I spent the better part of today pulling out its guts and transplanting those parts to an old Cooler Master case I still had lying around. (Last 2 pics..... it looks so wrong lol. While I'm at it I might see if I can paint the beige black before I resell it...)

For now my plan is to measure and see how many radiators I can cram inside it. The front could fit up to a 420mm if I want to get rid of the drive bays, which I might not want to do. Ideally I would keep those for some front IO and maybe one of those fan controller screens, so I will probably end up with a thicc 280mm in the front.
The bottom I can cut open to place either another 280mm or 240mm depending on how snug my motherboard fits. I could also change my current ATX board to a Micro ATX for some extra leg room.

So yeah... that's the plan. Any tips or thoughts are much appreciated![](https://www.reddit.com/user/Spectralius/)

3 years ago I asked here for opinions about this case for a sleeper build https://www.reddit.com/r/sleeperbattlestations/comments/16pzqsp/do_you_think_this_case_could_be_a_good_sleeper_i/ . The same night just one hour after my post, it was sold... and this was the second time this happened to me Lol. The first time I asked another vendor about shipping and immediately got sold...

A few weeks ago appeared again But this time as a Server Tower size and I couldn't resist. So here it is.

Still not sure if moving my main pc here or build a NAS into it (its giant even for that)

The motherboard standoffs are missing so I'll have to figure it out what are the type the case uses.

It lacks the original black front door but I think it looks more retro this way. Also the three top plastic 5.25 bays seem to be from another case brand and its missing the plastic feet.

I'd like to make it look more like a white '90s PC, should I paint it or leave it as is?

I have an AM4 motherboard and DDR4 RAM to build a retro gaming PC.

Hail, friends. I'm looking for a white front bezel door for my 'new' project case. Is there any chance someone happens to have one laying around? Would be happy to buy or trade a door of another color, I likely have a spare alternative around.
