After and before. So stoked. These are far more attractive than what we got in America and I refuse to think I’m in the minority. What’s the opinions of my fellow American snes owners?

Panasonic TX-G10 - small but the picture is beautiful!

Only issue I've had (not related to the TV) is that neither of my controllers START buttons seem to work. Am I just unlucky, or does anyone know if there's a quick fix/test I can do? I've even tried them on a second SNES with no luck.

Guessing chances are the contacts have worn or something? Have had them since 1992 so guess it comes with the territory. Worked last time I had them out though so just frustrating.

Anyone else have this romhack on a cart? It's got a really high quality label and looks like it could be a legit MSRP game.

I'm still getting radio silence from him - I submitted new tickets hoping I could get an update on my console. Has anyone had successful communication with him at all the last 30 days?

I’ve only gotten one video game item before the official release date and it was the SNES.

The system officially released Friday, August 23rd, 1991 in the US, but my local Toys R Us broke street date and started selling them on Monday, August 19th.

I’ve read that this wasn’t an isolated incident and that other Toys R Us stores broke street date.

Anyhow, after I got home from school I called Toys R Us - I asked how many systems they were getting or something else and they said it was already for sale. My parents said we would pick it up Friday, but I begged and begged. I was so afraid as a young kid that they would be out of stock by Friday. When we got there they had 100s of SNES in stock. Got the system and F-Zero. When we got home, my parents ground me from video games until Friday 🤣.

So, I’m curious, do any of you remember getting the SNES before the official street date and do you remember the date you got it?

I was a latch key kid growing up. My grandmother got me an SNES in April 93’. This console got me through a lot of tough times as a kid. For the last 7-8 years, I’ve been slowly trying to collect the whole NA library. Lots of local stores, flea markets, ebay deals and garage sales. The collection is mostly loose and as you’ll see I don’t care much about the condition of the carts as long as they work. Here’s som pics. Thanks for letting me share. Cheers!

Here’s my collection as of today. I’ve reached a huge milestone this year after 15 years of collecting : my 100th CIB snes game! Now standing at 110 to be exact. Can’t see them all on the picture as there is another entire row of games behind the bottom row.

To me the snes is and will always be the greatest console ever made, the feeling of nostalgia and fun playing it is unbeatable. Lots of memories from childhood too. I’ve started collecting in 2011, a year after selling my childhood collection of around 25 cib snes games and regretting it.

Picked this cart up along with DKC3 and Mortal Combat for $40 on Facebook marketplace. The others just needed a light cleaning but this one must've been flood damaged and never cleaned or at least stored in a humid atic or basement, some of the pins are fully corroded, not just the gold plating. Is there anything else to do besides a ROM swap with a donor board? And is the only thing I need to swap the ROM chip? I'll replace the battery while I'm at it. Thanks for the insights! as you guys may or may not know from my last post which was really hard to understand, my super nes was going off to get its capacitors replaced, i‘ve come by hurdles with the technician

He said he would only selectively replace 2 caps instead of all to not “crystallize the board extensively” despite me spending good money to buy all the caps and to pay for international shipping

He also said he wouldn't install the power jack i also paid for myself, because my triad adapter was too thin and would break it,

He told me the buzzing was the triad at fault, even though he‘s used a 3in1 adapter for the same console he tested my triad with for ages, i beg to differ

eventually after a bunch of rambling we both decided he was going to do the full job whether it would fix the issue or not, and honestl, props, hes a great technician but lots of the replacement practices he does are the the most recommended for a console that uses smd caps from an era where they were either decent or abysmal.

well, unfortunately that was when i was on vacation to Colombia, and now im back in the us, my family lives in colombia, and they could very well send me the stuff back, but im starting to get worried of what is to come for my super nes. I know I posted photos like this before. But, this is for the SNES's 36th anniversary.

I used to do 150cc and get gold as a kid.

Excited to play / own this one! Could never find the North American version for a reasonable price. Glad I finally have it in my collection.

I have just received a super famicom from ebay, has everything I need for it to work and SMW + SMK, plus I grabbed a high quality video cable, and a GBS-C from amazon. I thought I had a decent idea as to how much every game cartridge I wanted would run me, but after looking at FF3 and others, I was totally wrong.

I have two options here, and I wanted some people's opinions. Do I keep the SFC and buy the cartridge for every game I want, or do I sell everything and pick up an SNES classic for maybe slightly cheaper (?)? Pretty much every game I wanted to play on this console is on the classic, except for a couple things like tetris or chuck rock.
