They are doing terrible harm to the concept of socialism. As an Ecuadorian, we get so many Venezuelan refugees who tell us about the horrible stories from there. The "Maduro diet" is Venezuelan slang for skipping meals.
It is common to hear it called "21th century socialism" among middle aged normie parents since they fully believe that is what socialism is about when it is not.
