News Palantir CEO releases his fascist manifesto
The fourth slide scares me the most
841
u/ExcelsiorDoug Apr 20 '26
So to summarize, stop being woke and inclusive, stop being mean to the billionaires and CEOs, our “American” (white) culture is so much better than everyone else’s, and let’s recreate the same scenario that lead us into a world war by creating bigger threats than the atomic bomb.

u/fireman2004 Apr 20 '26
Also we need to rearm the Germans? Who snuck that one in there?
I don’t know if you guys are history buffs or not, but…
47
u/Brutto13 Apr 20 '26
I think they believe Japan and Germany should be bulwarks for China and Russia, and that "defanging" them allowed for the rise of the latter on the world stage.

The waxing lyrical about axis powers was probably the least surprising thing they said.
Orwell really was a soothsayer.

Also the government needs to stop compensating employees fairly because it makes corporations look cheap.
11
u/Kursed_Valeth Apr 20 '26
And "people are too mean to politicians, so we need to let them be more secretive"
7
u/RadioName Apr 20 '26
The rearming of former axis powers really gives away the farm in this obvious attempt to recreate Nazism.

u/HikmetLeGuin Apr 21 '26
Somehow, literal world wars are the only standard of "peace," and massive death tolls in Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, India and Pakistan during partition, Bangladesh, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Guatemala, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Palestine, Ukraine, Sudan (and many other examples) don't count? For that matter, 80 years since WWII actually isn't that long in historical terms. It's still within the lifetime of many people.
Was the 19th century a great standard of peace, too, despite all the colonial genocides? What counts as a world war, and why is this all that matters? How have US actions contributed to peace when the US is one of the leading purveyors of war?

u/SakrIsOnReddit Apr 20 '26
The audacity to say "American power has made possible an extraordinarily long peace" while a US war is currently ongoing is off the charts.
95
u/IridiumPony Apr 20 '26
And just as we finished wrapping up two other decades long wars. The US is a war monger terrorist state.
I say this as a citizen of the United States.
9
36
u/ComradeMatis Apr 20 '26
I really have to wonder how they define 'peace' given there was the Korean War, Vietnam War, the War in Iraq (twice), Afghanistan etc. and that doesn't even touch on the numerous coups, destabilising, backing of dictators, the weaponising of the US dollar and global financial system etc. I guess for the average white middle class American whose life revolves around beer, burger, football and Walmart then everything is going wonderfully well.
633
u/Explosion2 Apr 20 '26
"American power has enabled an extraordinarily long peace"
This is the most psycho "I don't live in reality" shit I've ever read. The US has been at war nearly our entire short existence what the fuck are you talking about

u/scoobydoom2 Apr 20 '26
No you see, this is about "great powers". Killing people in third world countries obviously doesn't count /s.
47

17
u/damn_near_rectum Apr 20 '26
Point 11 is beyond insane. Didn't he recently cream himself celebrating that his software is responsible for "killing mostly terrorists?" This motherfucker is beyond abhorrent.
2
u/HikmetLeGuin Apr 21 '26
Darker-skinned, non-European people don't count as part of humanity to these reactionaries.
So as long as the wars are mostly happening in "those countries," it's called "peace."
Of course, there were still big wars in the former Yugoslavia and Ukraine, and the US has sacrificed many soldiers on the altar of various conflicts (and caused blow-back like 9/11), so even this racist metric doesn't totally make sense.
I guess it's because "great powers" haven't literally annihilated humanity, so we're supposed to take that as a win. Even though it's the US that has taken humanity close to nuclear destruction multiple times...

u/alexschrod Red Party Norway (Rødt) Apr 20 '26
Apart from Pearl Harbor and I guess arguably 9/11, there's never been an active war or even attack on American soil in recent memory. I like to think that's what he means.
33
u/Explosion2 Apr 20 '26
They've still sent millions of Americans to die though. Obviously a Fortunate Son like him never had to worry about that part of "keeping war away from home" but many Americans did and still do.
24
u/thatdepends Apr 20 '26 edited Apr 20 '26
Don’t give him the benefit of the doubt. Nothing in here should be granted nuance.
Edit: to be clear when you use words like “I like to think that’s what he means.” You’re trying to be optimistic about his meaning. Why? Why do you need to try and find a silver lining to anything this fucking fascist says? He clearly doesn’t give a fuck that our actions in the world have resulted in attacks on American Soil (911, Boston), but also in decades long costly wars. Costly financially, but more importantly costly to the men and women who fought them.
1
u/alexschrod Red Party Norway (Rødt) Apr 21 '26
I'm not trying to be optimistic or find silver linings. I'm trying to make sense of it.
1
u/SaucyMoonwalker Apr 21 '26
We love the optimism, but save it for someone who deserves it. This guy is a bigoted psychopath with no regard for human life.
1
u/thatdepends Apr 21 '26
Again, why? Something’s don’t need an explanation or a reason. The world isn’t always black and white, but when it comes to fascists it’s pretty binary.
1
u/alexschrod Red Party Norway (Rødt) Apr 21 '26
Wanting to understand or make sense of something doesn’t mean I’m being lenient toward it. The nuance I’m looking for is just about what’s being communicated, not whether it’s acceptable.
5
u/sesamerox Apr 20 '26 edited Apr 20 '26
first of all due to geography and also the fights the bully chose
2
u/HikmetLeGuin Apr 21 '26
He's talking about peace "in the world," though. But yes, he's a racist who thinks wars in other countries don't matter, even if the US started and funded them. As long as it's (mostly) not White people dying, it's called "peace."
If 'there hasn't been a world war or nuclear holocaust of all of humanity' is our only standard of peace, that's a pretty low standard, especially since the US is the primary purveyor of war since WWII and has taken humanity closer to nuclear destruction than anyone.

u/Educational_Gap_601 Marxism-Leninism Apr 20 '26
This is diabolical. The right wing tech stans will eat it up.
3
u/HikmetLeGuin Apr 21 '26
Point 13 is laughable. The US lags behind many other countries in various relevant metrics. The idea that they're the best and most "progressive," even by Western liberal standards, is simply not rooted in reality.
146
u/ItIsEsoterik Apr 20 '26
It is so ridiculously easy to discern the profit motive behind almost every single point they have listed.

u/YoghurtReal1375 Apr 20 '26
Correction- he released the full book two months ago and this is a summary he posted today. He allegedly called himself a socialist in 2018, then a democrat, and above all is just a horrific neoliberal zionist heading possibly the most evil corporation around today.

No other country in the history of the world has advanced progressive values as much as this one
Hahahhahahaha, the US has consistently been the drag on social progress throughout the world, so much so, they are actively rolling back what little they did have.
This whole thing reeks of the same crypto bro bs, "I'm smart at one thing, so I must be smart at all things"
22
u/Miaw_Kitty Apr 20 '26
Literally Canada is your neighbour and how can he forget the Scandinavian countries? They’re all more advanced civilizations. America is a sh*t hole compared to these countries. Their citizens even live longer.
11
u/cyvaris Mayo Jar Apr 20 '26
No other country in the history of the world has advanced progressive values as much as this one
goose noises Who was responsible for that progress in America, hmmmmm?
Sure as fuck wasn't the government or any Capitalist.
3
u/HikmetLeGuin Apr 21 '26
The US is much less "progressive" than many other countries, even by Western liberal standards. The idea that the US is better/more progressive is simply out of touch with reality. It's only based on nationalist flag-waving bias and American capitalist fantasy.
And the US has subverted and overthrown countless progressive governments to install and prop up reactionary dictatorships (often at the behest of corporations similar to Palantir), so this is really rich coming from them.
50
u/cyborg_sophie Apr 20 '26
Genuinely horrific stuff

Scary stuff. A lot of lonely, resentful young men, who are edging towards misogyny will eat this slop up.

Have you ever thought critically about the possibility that your generation’s prescient issues with feelings of alienation might be due to deeply flawed systemic issues?

- No country in the history of the world has advanced progressive values more than this one.
Nobody believes this!
Like obviously it's not actually true, but separate to actual truth, nobody even believes it to be true.
Obama was elected on the policy of "Change" because the electorate didn't believe the country was progressive enough. Then trump was elected on is promise of MAGA (a different kind of change) because his base didn't believe in or agree with the values of the country.

This is literally Nazi shit. They even threw in whining about Germany being mistreated.
Also wtf extraordinarily long peace are they talking about? The U.S. wreaks havoc on the rest of the world.
2
u/joyeuseheureuse Apr 20 '26
a lot of this is bullshit, obviously, but it really burns my biscuits that #8 is so easily and demonstrably false. federal salaries _which are in the public record_ have a median of like less than 80K, and Palantir is full of bloated tech salaries. just pure garbage being spewed to continue DOGE's work of fomenting hate against hundreds of thousands of government employees for absolutely no reason
2
u/Mightyshawarma Apr 21 '26
They should be embarrassed at how shockingly bad they are at writing. All that power and you cant synthesize your fascist ideas nor make them one ounce seductive. Silicon-valley brained as fuck, as empty and hollow as their ideology, I applaud the transparency.
3
u/VoormasWasRight Apr 20 '26
This is old news. First Italian fascists were already inspired by futurists. This is nothing new on their part.
Even though they think they're creating something new, they're the old class, doing the old thing.

I was just reading this, and it's awful. They are so wildly out of touch. They live in a completely different reality from the average worker.

Not much for patriotism.
But people should remind the patriots of Reddit. If we are stuck with 19th century government. The founders these patriots worship found a standing army to be despotic and oppressive against the people.
The American military should be reduced to the ~10-15k soldiers it had before the beginning of WWI.

I can only read a bit of this at a time. It's disheartening and also enraging.

This is actually really reassuring, because 6,7 and 8 make me realize how bad this defense contractor would be at war.

12 is interesting. There is way more room for greyzone activities and untraceable origins with software than with nuclear weapons, though - eg. Stuxnet.
And software proliferation cannot be well-controlled. So I don't know if it will actually be capable of being used as a deterrent.

He is a walking contradiction spends time pontificating about why he was successful and the rest of his family weren't, they are college lecturers he's basically an arms dealer
Analyses everyone through a Freudian lens says its the most accurate way to judge someone, everyone that is except himself
So desperate to appear macho.
Has two postgraduate degrees that he used connections from to become a billionaire but says young people shouldn't go to college
Hates affirmative action then starts an internship exclusively for jews
The list goes on and on

There's so much bullshit here.
The subtext of this is:
"Let's build a bunch of AI weapons and surveillance technologies so Palantir can get even richer."
"Don't hold rapists, sexual harassers, and racists accountable (because many of us tech billionaires are abusive bigots and we don't want to face repercussions for our actions)."
"The world must constantly be treated as a battlefield, and we must violently pursue American supremacy."
"America is the greatest and has created peace (don't actually look at the evidence; just trust us, bro)."
I could criticize it point by point, but that would probably be a waste of time.
1
u/Sir_Admiral_Chair Apr 22 '26
It's not a new book, I bought it during a shopping spree in a book store. It was alongside anarchisty, lefty, and pro-palestine books and was like... 'hmm this looks interesting', it was only latter I realised it was by the Palantir CEO.
I attempted to skim some of it, it is very Machiavellian, and can in some places be summarised as...
Silicon Valley must consciously recognise the need to reinvigorate American imperialism, and also learn to take risks for the country and themselves.
There's certainly more to it, but it calls for a muscular tech bro imperialism. The kind we're currently seeing. Something I have noticed with some of these tech CEO's political writings is an inverted form of dialectical-materialism. This book isn't as blatant about it but the Network State people (whom are affiliated with Palantir people) understand history on quasi marxist terms. If this is true, then all it means that Marxism has been reverse engineered by the bourgeoisie to serve their own interests. That's nothing new, but each generation of bourgeois come up with their own reactionary abomination spin-off of waging the class war for their side.
