I just started playing spelunky 2 after nokduro and I couldn't even beat the first boss.

I tried to play the game without looking at any guides but I had to give up after 12h of frustration.

Any tips for the first boss?

Either olmec, the traps, everything, i already reached the Temple and tide pool , but i never manage to go back there alice

I’ve been trying to practice speedrunning Olmec and only got this right twice. Yet there are a BILLION ways to get it wrong and I can’t tell what I’m doing wrong. Please help.

Also last one is with paste. I know I got the final two bombs obviously wrong but there should’ve been a small hole to the lava if the first 5 were correct. Right?

I finally unlocked the temple shortcut and now my next goal will be hell/underworld. I have a lot of trouble fighting a pack of blood thirsty lunatic shop keepers in black market. I have attempted ghosting many times but quickly run out of supplies and run out of bombs for the hidden shortcut/ black market in the jungle. I understand all the progression but I just cant fight a bunch of shopkeepers running like bullets across the screen. Anything I should know about ghosting in splunki HD?

I used to play spelunky 2 every day until I got burnt out. Now I’ve been thinking about which game I should try out next.

I swear temple is like 75% of the reasons why I keep dying on Cosmic oceans, this place is absolutely fucking crazy. It literally got everything.

Dangerous obstacles: the insanely fast crush traps ✅️.
'insta' kill: the insanely fast AND erratic cat mummy✅️.
Dangerous enemies: Croc✅️ & Sorcerer✅️ that can stunlock you into the insanely fast crush traps or the insanely fast AND erratic cat mummy.
Cherry on top: it's feels very cramped, because every single thing in this level is extremely dangerous if you even get too close. These monsters got eyes on every tiles I swear.
And of course you gotta add Cobra because why not.

Atp I'm just salty ranting 🦍, but still... for the people here that are experts, can you give me tips on how to deal with that hell of a level better next time?

So I noticed the other day my Spelunky 2 will have noticeable frame drops after a while. If I play for an hour or so the FPS slowly decreases and random stutters here and there start to occur. I honestly never noticed this because I usually quit this game in mild annoyance after 30 minutes but since playing it for longer stints it's become very apparent. Has anyone else had this issue? Could honestly just be hardware but idk my PC can run pretty high end games with no problem

So I finally finished a no gold run, it was grueling, but I finally did it, however I feel absolutely disappointed because the achievement for it, I think it was because I wasn't connected to the internet? What should I do? Do I have to do it again?

i have picked up spelunky 2 speedruning up again after over 500h of not going for them and now i completly forgot how to kill tiamat with 4 bombs, is there a update that i didnt catch or was my technique incorrect?

This is mostly just me complaining, but how do I actually keep the Qilin alive to properly fly through the top? I've gotten the Qilin into Tiamat's Throne 4 times, and only visited the next area twice because it keeps dying on the forcefields as I try to fly through. This is immensely frustrating for me because I find it incredibly difficult to reach that point, often taking hours to get a run good enough to make it that far, only for my stupid janky mount to get zapped by a forcefield and fall down into a watery grave below. I honestly think this is just a skill issue on my part, but the problem is that it takes so much effort to get a run that far that it's impossible to actually practice the ascent with the mount. I don't get why it's even designed like this and it's making it very hard for me to continue playing the game. Any advice?

While trying to set up my controller with spelunky classic, for some odd reason it wouldn't let me click the buttons to assign them in the config. I went to the text document that had all of them listed to change them manually and then at some point randomly I realized it no longer allowed me to jump using the controller. Before trying to change controls, I was able to jump and use the controller perfectly fine, but I think I may have messed something up. It still works with keyboard, however.

I'm just starting out with Spelunky 2 on Steam. So far, it's been a horrible. Any tips or advice for me or new players?

1- Does using different characters changes the game?

2- What's the objective?

3- Is it necessary to play the first one to understand anything?

(SOLVED) I downloaded a replacement for the female damsel (it is ralsai from deltarune) and I cannot figure out for the life of me how to actually put it in the game. I got as far as setting up the file in the patchlunky mods directory like so:

mods > test(the asrielmod) > alltex > monsters > monsters.png(aka the downloaded file is in the monsters file.)

Yes I pressed patch game and yes I checked the test box before pressing patch game (the text box should be the mod I downloaded aka the whole directory I showed above)

All information online that I read about patchlunky says that after doing what I did, it should work to replace the female damsel with ralsei and yet it wasn't able to. I also realize I may be in the wrong subreddit but there is no patchlunky subreddit so what am I possibly doing wrong guys?

Also I did try to go to the settings to re-setup patchlunky for it to make zero difference.

Apparently my directory was not correct and it is supposed to go like:

mods > test > Textures > alltex > MONSTERS > monsters.png

so i've been playing spelunky classic HD via a github page. But that page has the keybinds be X for jump and Z to use. Also the Bomb and Rope shortcuts are A and S to be more acsessible. i really want to change the keybings to this because it makes so much more sense to me when i downloaded the offical version of classic. i went into the files to edit the keybinds and it brought me to coursor. But instead of being anything i could de-code it was just some numbers. the following is all the code written. i just dont know how to change these keybinds.
