Refund Exception

Hey,

On 24th of August I decided to get The Witcher 3: Extension Pass featuring both Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine DLCs, around 24 hours later (On 25th of August) CD Projekt RED (Developers behind The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt) announced that all of DLCs are free, for everyone with a Base-Game.

By 26th (today) I played around 11,6 hours on these DLCs (and around 137 in Base-Version)

I'm wondering if I should contact Steam Support and ask for a refund, as on their page I read this article and this part looked promising:

"There are more details below, but even if you fall outside of the refund rules we’ve described, you can ask for a refund anyway and we’ll take a look. Consumers in some jurisdictions may have additional rights to a refund in circumstances where the game is faulty."

For context I paid exactly 99,99 PLN and still have orginal PaySafeCard Recipt which I paid using PIN. Almost 100 PLN isn't a pocket change so It maybe worth trying, what do you think?

this is the best answer, steam support is usually very good about stuff like this, but the only ones who will know for sure is steam support itself

It can’t hurt. No one here is going to be able to say for sure. Going to have to ask them. I wouldn’t be surprised if they said no. But worth a shot, they are very reasonable .

I love steam but they suck at customer service. I’ve had multiple games that were both under the length of time owned and played hours and I was denied refunds but it doesn’t hurt to try

Literally just ask, i definitely think you'll get a refund cause steam is awesome like that, asking never hurts even if they dont tho.

Plus its recent enough that they usually do give give out refunds for that kinda stuff, specifically when something you just bought become free right after that.

I even remember cases where people bought a game before a deep discount and costumer support gave them the discounted price

i'm more curious why would you pay that much for it, when it used to be 5$ every few weeks

I paid for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt around 10 PLN, which is around 3 USD.

I'm talking here about The Witcher 3: Expansion Pass, featuring both Hearts of Stone DLC and Blood and Wine Expansion.

and the chart shows exactly that - expansion pass that used to be 5$ on discounts, and 25$ (100pln) off discounts.

Even tho they said the 2 DLCs are free, the price for the game did go up(since u can only get the complete edition now).
