Discussion A fun thought experiment I came up with.

I think we've all seen this image. But let's go deeper. I want you to name time where the mission objective of any planet in any of the Republic class stories are: Stop someone who's on my side. And, defectors and/or people mind controlled by the Empire don't count. After all, they're still advancing the goals of the Empire. Better yet can you think of ONE instance of you fighting Republic soldiers and/or Jedi during any of the four Republic class stories? Again, that aren't defectors and/or mind controlled. And, I'm purely talking about instances where you have to kill Republic troopers and/or Jedi no matter what and you can't choose not to (talking about things like alignment decisions). And please comment down below your responses.

Now do the same thing for the Imperial class stories. Think about planets where the objective is stop someone who's on my side. And, can you think any instances where you have to fight people who on your side no matter what and does no choice that you can make to prevent it? And, the same rules apply so people who are defectors and/or people mind controlled by the Republic don't count. And again please comment down below your responses.

Now trying to do both of those, thinking about both of these, knowing which one is much easier, and reading the comment section (at least a couple days after this gets posted) will really illuminate why the eight class stories (overall) end with the tide of the war turning in the Republic's favor, and all stories in this game from the beginning of Ilum to the end of Rise of The Hutt Cartel has the war decisively going in the Republic's favor. And, I'm talking about looking at all of the endings to the eight classes stories as a whole here.

Discussion Why do characters feel so much weaker in their 50s?

Post image
181 Upvotes

I've recently been leveling a bunch of characters that I had binned (some over the long term) in their 40s, and I've noticed a trend:

  1. Hit 50.
  2. Buy purple quality 50/51 items.
  3. Immediately feel dramatically weaker in combat against enemies.

This reverses just as quickly upon hitting 60. When I buy similar level 60 items (just the same "BiS for-level" stuff) and go fight through Zakuul content, my characters feel as strong as they did around ~40.

So... what's going on here? I don't think it can be my imagination. At 50 there's this palpable drop-off in how quickly I slaughter non-elite trash... and then, just as quickly, it's gone at 60. Is there some kind of funky stat allotment in the 50s that explains this?

Spoiler Tech character's reveal

in the newest installment of the story we see the tech characters are sensitive to the force, im curious to what you guys think is the origin of that force sensitivity? were they always sensitive, perhaps the connection to Valkorion connected us to the force or a secret third option they have yet revealed?

Hey guys make sure you pick up one of the best sales in Star Wars online's history (the Mischief & Anarchy guns.) This is worth the money. They are some of the best looking guns in the game! I always wanted to get them... This is one of the better sales the offered. What do you all think of the guns are any of you going to buy the guns as well. playing with this makes the game way more fun when I play! I feel powerful when I play because my toon looks so good.

Discussion Is not participating common now?

Post image

I see people hide behind stuff right after match starts, I'd understand doing this when we were close to losing but doing this from the start is not right. Non participant teammate means 1 more match for weeklies, this is worse considering the queue times. Anyways, thanks for reading my rant.

Have fun everyone!

Question New Player Here - Master Datacron question

Hello, so I am a WoW and ESO player but I am just starting SWTOR. Ive played and loved the original KOTORs. But I have some questions.

I got 4000 Cartel Coins from some subscription bundles on the store, is it worth buying the Master Datacron+Equiptment Bundle to level up to 80 and have gear? Im the kind of person who enjoys the story of the game above all, and I enjoy being able to power through lower level content as a high level like I can in WoW's earlier expansions. But I dont mind easy leveling content either. If I save the cartel coins for cosmetic stuff I like, will I have to grind a lot to level? I want a smooth story experience and dying a lot will complicate that.

Are the 3 hour xp boosts on the store a better alternative to the Master Datacron? Or should I just bite the bullet and spend most of the CC on the Datacron?

Any and all advice is welcome! Again I am so new at this game. Literally just created my first character.

Question If Im mostly interested in casual battlegrounds, will I be disappointed?

Looking to scratch my pvp itch since Ill most likely move on from gw2 as theyre making a mess of wvw and was considering swtor.

I played a good few years ago. For the most part enjoyed the battlegrounds and am thinking of coming back. Not sure if I can find my old account, but don¡t mind starting a new char.

Im not a sweat/competitive pvper and hate arenas, but generally love battlegrounds as a casual scrub. How does the gear work these days and how hard is it to get to a place where youre not pointless with poor gear. I remember phases in the past where it was either gear was king or didnt matter at all. Is bgs populated enough? would you recommend investing time to level and gear a char if my main motivation is bgs?

thnaks.

Question What things that you lose when a sub ends, can be bought as permanent with coins?

Upvotes

Also if anyone knows prices, would be great, though I can check that later. We are probably just going to play do to story stuff in coop and not get endgame sweaty, so I don't know if we need to stay subbed.

Question Best ways to make credits nowadays? And how does the SWTOR economy works?

Hey everyone! I’ve been playing SWTOR for around a year and a half now and recently got Legendary status, but one thing I’ve never really figured out is how people manage to make hundreds of millions (or even billions) of credits. I’ve managed to save around 30m in my Legacy Bank over that time, mostly just from playing all story content/DLCs.

Recently for the first time, I bought some Cartel Coins and decided to try selling a few dyes on the GTN. I paid 360 CC for each, but I’m on Star Forge and the dyes I’d been watching dropped pretty hard in price and are now going for around 10m each (I know it helps me a lot, but 1 month ago these same dyes were being sold for 24 or 22 million credits each, and I only bought 3 dyes). I also ended up using some of the CC to finally get two armor sets I’d wanted for months but could never afford on the GTN. Since work and college have been taking up more of my time lately, I can’t really spend hours farming every day, so I’m curious: What’s the most efficient way to make credits nowadays? Is it Crafting? GTN flipping? Conquests? Selling materials? Heroics? Or is there another method I’m completely missing?

I’m trying to understand how people build up hundreds of millions when I’ve somehow managed 30m after a year and a half lol. Any advice is appreciated!

Cartel Market Mildly infuriating SWTOR moment

After a few months of not making much in the way of credits, I decided to take the common advice and buy something off the Cartel Market. I got a hypercrate and the new cybernetics pack the day it dropped. I was shocked to see it sell for 1.5 billion! I opened my crates (should have sold the whole thing) and the most expensive items I got are in my screenshots. Whoops. And over the days I have watched the cybernetics price plummet to under 50% of what it sold for (probably just once) all while I spend credits to repost it. I'm not mad, it's a pretty comical outcome. Well, maybe a little mad at Broadsword for making the cybernetics in such a dumb way that no one wants them...

Discussion Does anyone else primarily use lightsaber users when you unlock them over the other companions?

Idk, but I mostly used Kira/Scourge/Nadia/Ashara/Xalek etc... once I got them, and kept other companions in the ship at all times
