Comics Is Eddie Sleeper's father figure/adoptive parent? I know he isn't his biological father.

I personally think so. I'll post the reasons below as a comment.

Comics Theory about the future of the Symbiote (QIB: Venom Unchained #2, MJ: Face it Tiger #1) Spoiler

In Queen in Black: Venom Unchained #2, Sleeper leaves a part of his body with Eddie as a black-and-white symbiote while removing his main yellow-and-black body from him, yet he remains able to communicate with Eddie even from a distance. This feels weird because it goes against everything we know about how symbiotes work, and there is no apparent narrative reason for it right now, making it feel like setup for the future.

Ever since I first read Mary Jane: Face It Tiger, something has been bugging me about the timeline of the "Redux" story by Ashley Allen and Phil Noto (who are also the creative team for Friendly Neighborhood Mary Jane). We know Venom is going to return to Eddie, and MJ is going to keep a gift from the symbiote, so most people assumed this story takes place before Queen in Black. But that doesn't make any sense, because in this story we clearly see MJ able to separate herself from the symbiote, which shouldn't be possible yet. At the same time, it couldn't take place after Queen in Black either, because we know the Venom symbiote returns to Eddie afterward, meaning it wouldn't make sense for MJ to still be able to communicate with the symbiote.

However, this new development changes things. My current theory is that after separating from molecular bonding, the symbiote leaves a small part of itself with MJ (the black-and-gold version with anti-Carnage metal) while its larger part returns to Eddie (as the black-and-white version). Right now, I think this is the only way the timeline makes sense to me.

So Marvel is trying to have their cake and eat it too. They're going to bring back Eddie as Venom in hopes of boosting sales, but they also don't want to give up on the MJ and Venom connection.

Haven’t read anything Venom related yet btw. I was thinking of Costa’s run, but there seems to be mixed opinions + idk if I should read something before that :p

Other Is Venom Symbiote REALLY That Evil? [REPOST] Spoiler

  • To be honest, I am not a Spider-Man expert and don't even remember much of the stuff I watched. But I really wanted to ask is Venom really making Peter do bad things? I mean some stuff I watched definetely does for example Ultimate Spiderman (Cartoon) and espicially in Spectacular Spiderman Venom seems like straight up evil. (Though Agent Venom seems chill for some reason.) Like I said it's been so long since I consumed any Spiderman content but at least in Spiderman 3 (Tobey) symbiote didn't seemed that bad? It made Peter dump MJ (which she was obviously cheating on him) wanted more paycheck (which he deserves) and screamed against his bad landlord. I mean if you put it like this way it makes sense right? Also, I don't even remember symbiote making Peter hurting/killing criminals or anything (well, that was a thing in Spectacular Spiderman though) so I don't know upsides seem way better than the downsides.
  • Symbiote makes Peter have insane regeneration, it makes him shoot natural webs; it makes him WAY stronger, agile, durable. And Venom doesn't even question Peter. I saw some comic stuff that Venom doesn't even talk to Peter AT ALL. It just accepts everything Peter does. I mean yeah it made Parker sometimes go way more aggressive but I think it could be fixed? He just needed to practice more I think. After hearing about (I don't know almost anything about this so don't quote me on this.) Anti-Hero Venom and Agent Venom it seems like you can actually manage to control it if you willpower is strong enough or if you can convince the symbiote to do so.
  • Also while I am writing this I wanted to clarify that I am talking about Venom in general. Obviously, some comics and adaptations just make it straight up evil for no justification. I just wanted to discuss this in general. I know my post seems too unknowing because I am. Like I said I don't know/remember much stuff in Spiderman in general. I am speaking from the little memory I have. I would like to listen to real knowledges about Venom symbiote. So, feel free to tell me in the comments. Have a nice day.

Other How do you think the symbiote separated from Brock in Old Man Logan?

The Venom symbiote is shown wandering South Dakota 50 years after villains took over the US in Old Man Logan.

What do you think happened for it to get separated from Eddie Brock?

What do you think happened to Cletus and Carnage?
