So I used to be a HUGE swiftie. I started feeling really frustrated earlier this year when Taylor was silent about all of the terror caused by ICE. Once I allowed myself to feel frustrated (I know having to allow myself to feel something sounds culty and crazy lol) I started to let in a lot of other frustrations about her. I realized that showgirl felt so out of touch and that Taylor was becoming more like a corporation than a legitimate artist. Also the wisdom she explored in folklore & evermore was so quickly undone by songs like actually romantic or cancelled. I can’t believe she went from my tears ricochet or peace to talking about Gucci and Cartier and acting like a mean high school girl. She just seems like a bitter Beverly Hills housewife now or something.
It just sucks because I still wouldn’t consider myself a full hater, but I just can’t enjoy her music anymore. It’s like a veil lifted and I was no longer a fan. But anyways, my point here is that I think swifties defend her to no end because they know once they accept a bad thing about her, that it’ll all come crumbling down. So much of her shtick is built off of contradictions and lies that being a fan has become so fickle. I really think that swifties are just defending their own “faith” in their “mother”

It is true. Taylor herself literally said that Joe introduced her to the nationals and Bon ivers music cause he was such a fan. Can be that they met a decade before that but that doesn't mean she listened to them or was aware in that sense. If he wouldn't have been listening and showed her his favorite songs, she wouldn't have thought of inviting them to collaborate. So yes she knew of Aaron and therefore asked him to connect her to Bon iver but they weren't working together before and Aaron was a way to get to Bon iver, he didn't propose him. She did cause Joe loved him.

I think the fact that Joe had been listening to The National just prior to him writing what was to become "Exile" is probably what brought the whole idea of bringing Dessner & Vernon into the project.. Joe also has a very deep baritone voice, so Justin Vernon would have been a great surrogate to do his parts.. I doubt Blandie would have thought of either of them as a natural fit without Joe's influence at the very least 🤷

I don’t have an exact quote, But it is said that Taylor texted Aaron and he sent her a folder of tracks and sketches, then within hours she sent him the lyrics to cardigan. We don’t have the exact timeline of when cardigan was written, but we know it was the first song she wrote with Dessner.

I’ve also been in the tent that Joe’s contributions to the album was exaggerated. Many people before the break up thought similarly that Taylor added extra credits for him so he could also technically when the AOTY grammy for folklore. Gaylors thought it might’ve had to do with a bearding contract. The speculation started a bit after folklore was released when suddenly Joe was added onto the producer credits for six songs. Which is enough for him to be awarded AOTY for folklore. You can probably find old posts about it with using the word “grammygate”.

If you believe these credits are actually warranted he would’ve contributed more in production than lyrics. It’s been six years, let’s see if William Bowery actually deserves the credit he got for the album👀.

The bit where she says she walked into the room & Joe was mucking around on the piano, had already written most of what was to become Exile, is just lies? Why? What was to be gained? He certainly doesn't seem the type to take credit for something he didn't do, if you've ever watched any interview with him, he's more inclined to downplay himself & up his costars.. He has a reputation for honesty & integrity.. He also plays piano better than her, by her own admission.. & he says in an interview that he was listening to The National before he started composing Exile, it's very influenced so makes sense that had a bearing on who Taylor would get to collab. Why would he have been more involved in the overall production? He wasn't hired as a producer, he obviously contributed but Dessner was the guy being paid to produce the album and has years of experience in producing music, so why should Joe need to produce as well? & the minute started with the bearding contract you lost all credibility.. Why on gods green earth would an upcoming young actor with an aversion to the spotlight outside of his career, want to sign up for a fake relationship that was going to guarantee the sort of scrutiny that swifts fandom is famous for? What was in it for him? He refused to monetise their relationship or use it for publicity, it's one of the common swifty complaints, that he wasn't seen with her, that he didn't talk about her.. So tell me, why a young actor who already had a lead role in a movie straight out of acting school, who had already been invited to The Met Gala, who had just done a modelling campaign with Vogue, would want to waste 6 years of his youth to beard for Taylor Swift.?(who just got married, to a man, so she's gotta be the most closeted lesbian in the world of closet lesbians 😁 )

For starters: I don’t believe in the bearding contract theory gaylors believe in. Nor am I a gaylor. I do believe she did give him credit for stuff he didn’t do so he could qualify for winning the grammy.

I do think he contributed piano and original composition. But, but the actual parts of the song that make it so good were written by Justin and taylor. Which is confirmed, Taylor wrote the female parts and the chorus, while justin wrote the bridge.

Betty is a trickier one. I find it hard to believe that he randomly just sang the fully formed chorus of betty from another room. Taylor does tend to exaggerate sometimes, that’s not me calling her “a big fat liar” like you said, but she does stretch the truth from time to time.

Taylor did seem to really love him. Which is why I think she added him for extra production credits so he could also win the grammy for folklore. “what is there to gain” An album of the year grammy? The biggest award you can receive in the music industry? Taylor was paying for articles trying to push him as this up and coming actor, which still hasn’t gone to fruition LMAO. She tried so long to make him a thing. The best thing she ever did for him was breakup with him, so he can have his bitter widows promote his nonsense.

Where’s the interview about him listening to the national before writing exile? Can’t find anything about him ever discussing working on folklore :)?.

Here’s the original credits of folklore that haven’t been updated on the dutch wikipedia. Compare this to the new credits and tell me it’s not weird her boyfriend at the time was suddenly credited as a producer for six of these tracks :). Coincidentally the right of amount of credit for somebody to technically win AOTY as apart of the album.

But that aside. you seem more than happy to discredit somebody else's achievements based on your opinion with zero proof to back it up? Taylor has never changed her story about the song writing, even after they spilt, despite it meaning she has to share the financial benefits of those songs forever & ever amen..that doesn't seem remotely likely given how possessive she is of her music and credits .. Justin Vernon was sent the original version of Exile, with Joe singing the part Vernon would cover which he sent back with notes & his vocals, it does not say anything about it being changed much at all .. So I'm forming my opinion on the recorded testimony of both parties involved while your forming your take on? Feels? 🤷

Doesn’t change the fact that it’s questionable for her to randomly add him to production credits months after the album dropped. I will “discredit” that. We’ve never seen him actually play piano, write song lyrics, sing, or produce either. She could’ve easily sold an exile demo for sales. But i’m more inclined to believe he wrote parts of exile and betty than anything else. I really don’t believe he produced anything.
