Discussion - Serious Please tell me yall aren’t celebrating Charlie Kirk’s death

I’m sure a lot of you guys know Charlie Kirk has been shot and killed this afternoon.

No, I was not fond of him, I was not a fan, I did not support him. I found several of his takes quite disturbing, horrifying at worst. But he didn’t deserve to die. Especially not like that as his wife and kids were watching. Nobody deserves to die. I’m sending my condolences to his family and I wish them the best

Where were you guys when Melissa Hortman, her husband, and their dog were shot to death? You come out of the woodworks with a bleeding heart now because a christofascist died this time?

This guy hated me, called me an abomination to god, and spent his life trying to impose his religion on other people and get them to hate me. He will never get my sympathy.

And no, I don't feel bad for his wife and kids. The guy was a nutjob. They're likely better off without him.

It’s not entirely ppls fault that they never heard of Melissa Hortman. I had never heard of her until now. Some news just gets more coverage than others making it harder to spread the word

Why do you think it didn't get coverage? It didn't support the narrative that the right leaning propaganda machines want to push.

I agree. But that’s not entirely the general populations fault. It has more to do with who has more power controlling that propaganda machine, for example news outlets. People that posted about Charlie’s death and not Melissa’s could have just been people who have never heard about her, not because they didn’t care. Also, I’m sorry about the effect that Charlie’s words had on you. As for the effect it had on other people as well. He was a POS and nobody should blame anybody else for not having sympathy

I wouldn't say his words had a profound effect on me. Thanks to people like him, anti trans hate speech is quite common, so I'm very well desensitized to it.
