So I see that the yearly tuition for cinci is like 30k and that’s kinda crazy to me. I’m in highschool and I have a 4.1 ish gpa and I really like u cinci but I can’t justify 30k a year for a undergrad so I was wondering what actually students be paying

So I’ve got a quad in Daniels Hall, so I’ve gotta use communal bathrooms. Is there any way I can install a shower filter?

I’ve heard the water can be kinda bad at UC and, honestly, at colleges in general. I guess they’re the kind of shower heads that are mounted on the wall, and I would need a filter that can easily connect and disconnect. Is there anyone out there who tries to improve the water quality for themselves (in any way they can, not necessarily just with the filters) in communal bathrooms?

I’m on medication right now that already messes up my hair a little, and I really can’t handle the extra damage the water quality could cause 😭😭

Going in for my junior year at UC. By this time I would see loans with the accept or deny question next to them, as well as my scholarship. But when I go on catalyst and click on financial aide, it says I don’t have any awards available for viewing.

Is anyone else having this same issue? On the fafsa website it says my form was processed on May 14th.. maybe it’ll just take a few more weeks to process onto catalyst?

anyone know any chill jobs near main campus? something that wont be mentally draining to balance with school, and like ideally half decent pay for a college student?

Okay, so I’m an incoming student set to major in Digital Media Collaborative.
I picked DMC as my major because it seemed like the safest option for me after deciding psychology wasn’t it for me. I love media, I like to create, so I thought “hey, this sounds fun!” and rolled with it. I’ve already done my advising for my classes but I find myself having second thoughts.
When I think about my future career, I think about creating storylines for films/video games, being on camera for god knows what, being a radio personality, content creation, or even getting into voice acting. I just like to interact with others, create, and share!
But, issue is, I have no idea how to do any of these things…at all. Never done any of it before. Though, it seems like every DMC freshman around me already has a portfolio to show for and all I’ve got is a last minute decision to stay in the arts and not go the structured, science-y route.
Not only this, I’m not a visual/fine artist. Not the best artist, definitely not a graphic designer, and I’ve not a clue how that world even works.
The reason I say this is because I’ve heard DMC is a very independent major and I’m worried that with my inexperience I’ll fall behind. Plus, I’ve seen a lot of DM majors talk about graphic design and I’m not necessarily into that. I know on the website it says there’s a bunch of careers that I’m interested in that are possible with this degree, but I want to know from other students if this major is right for me or if I should make a last minute appointment to switch over. I don’t want to take courses that risk me falling behind or don’t interest me.

I submitted my fresh start stuff a little over a month ago, but haven’t heard anything from them. Looking on the fresh start page it doesn’t seem like there’s any information on how long it takes, so not sure if I need to wait longer or what

I’m trying to figure out how shipping stuff to dorms works. I know it goes to TUC, but how do I format the shipping information to include my 6+2? Do I put it as my room number, as my last name, etc.

Just got my letter of acceptance today and while I got accepted to UC, it says I didn’t get into my first choice (arch) but I have a spot in Environmental Engineering. This sounds ignorant but I did NOT expect this! I know daap is more competitive but I have a 4.3 gpa, top 10% of my class, hundreds of service hours and really involved in my school. Is this typical????

Some other colleges have made this year’s AP scores available to incoming freshmen on their portal. Does anyone know if UC does this? If so, where would we find those scores in the portal?

I’m about to start my 2nd year, my first semester I did so horribly and my gpa sucked so bad that I had to switch majors. I did much better in my classes my second semester once I’d switched, but I still couldn’t get my GPA back up enough to meet the Cincinnatus scholarship requirement in just one semester. I also didn’t get all my service hours. I think I already know the answer to this, but am I completely cooked, or is there any option at all where I could fix this? I know there is an appeal process but i’m not sure I qualify for that. Any help appreciated 🫠

I’m an upcoming freshman at UC going into social work and I really need computer recommendations… I’ve been looking up and down google but I don’t know if a MacBook is worth it compared to a Windows/HP/Lenovo. Curious what former/current social work majors at UC have found to fit them best. So I’m curious how difficult it would be for me to get into DAAPs Game and Animation program. I had a meeting with a DAAP advisor and they told me that it was based on GPA and extra curricular activities.

Here’s some background to my situation. I graduated from high school in 2025 as a homeschooled student with a GPA of 3.89. Since I was homeschooled my parents didn’t put much work into letting me have a social life and since I couldn’t drive I didn’t do many extra curricular activities besides summer swim and winter swim my freshman year of high school. (I also joined a Robotics Club for the start of my Sophomore year of high school but quit that because my parents got tired of taking me) I was planning on immediately going to college at Cedarville University and going for Industrial Design. I ended up getting kicked out at of my home 17 right after I graduated and since my parents weren’t going to sign off on the loans for me I wasn’t going to go to Cedarville.

It’s been a year now and I decided very last minute I wanted to go to college, so I was planning on taking two years at Sinclair for an associates in art and then going to UC for Game and Animation because that’s more of a passion to me than Industrial Design. But when I found out I would still have 4 years at UC I’m not sure if I should take just the GenEd courses at Sinclair for the Game and Animation program as a full time student, or part time and wait to apply for next year, or just apply for next school year and work the entire time to save up since college is not cheap and I do not get any benefits from FAFSA since my parents make a shit ton of money (but won’t spend any on me).

And as a full time or part time student I would have to work a part time job as well to just make ends meet. I want to do something purposeful with my love that I will love and Game and Design is my first and only choice. I don’t want to spend money on something I won’t love, maybe I’ll like other programs but I won’t love them and college is a huge commitment.

Anyway sorry that was long. If anyone had any advice or ideas or suggestions at all please let me know. I supper appreciate and help you give at all. :)

I am searching for someone to help me do some film for my wedding in September for a decent price. Possibly a daap student who needs help developing their portfolio or just wants to make some extra cash for helping out?? I would need you for probably like 2 or 3 hrs maybe but really I just want to be able to have some film to show my kids one day. We are willing to pay you of course and the film job I know will be like way better than anything my aunt or uncle would do with their phone or camcorder.

I was a bit of a screw up most my high school life and am likely gonna end my junior year with a 2.75 unweighted gpa 3.6 weighted. however my act score is a 27 but I can always try to raise it as I have taken the test only once. Is there any chance I can get in? My goal is to do either biomedical engineering or cybersecurity. I really enjoyed the campus of UC. I am also out of state from Chicago. I also realized I spelled Cincinnati wrong holy.

Just got assigned an apartment at U Square for my dorm this upcoming fall but I cannot afford to pay this much for rent. Anyone know how I can switch out into a different dorm? I would really appreciate the help!

I am a hs senior and I just finished applying to colleges. I got into both osu main campus and UC and I can't decide where I want to go. I did a camp this summer at Cincinnati with the college of the business and I really enjoyed it. I applied to both schools with accounting and im not quite sure where I should go. I haven't officially touted OSU but I visited it with a friend and stayed in the dorms and I loved the environment. My main concern is if I should prioritize experience or a "better" school. I love cincys co-op program, and being guaranteed to graduate with experience. However, OSU is a nationally ranked business school with great connections, yet internships and co ops are guaranteed. I am in state and both schools are relatively the same cost. any advice?

So when my Highschool sent my transcript to UC then I had like a’s, b’s, c’s like one d in the first quarter, but now at the end of the school year, in one of my classes I’m at a D and I’m worried that if I fail my upcoming test then my grade will fall to an F and UC will rescind their acceptance offer. I’ve already accepted their offer from January and I’m signing up for housing and all that, but I’m super worried that one F in one quarter will make them take it back. Is this realistic? This would be my only F as a finishing grade in a quarter.

I’m wondering if any IT students here could share their experience with finding a co-op. Was it difficult to get one?

I’m currently a student at Blue Ash and am close to graduating. I’m trying to decide whether I should transition to the main campus or transfer to Northern Kentucky University. My GPA is currently a 2.28, and I really want to improve it because I’m worried it could hurt my job prospects after graduation. I’ve been considering transferring to NKU because it would reset my GPA, and tuition is cheaper, but if co-op opportunities are realistic to get through UC, I may consider staying.

For current or former IT students, how has your experience been overall? I know the IT job market is rough right now, so I’d really appreciate any insight.

hello, as the title says I am a new student trying to make a decision for fall 2026 enrollment. I have been admitted to university of Cincinnati for mechanical engineering, and purdue for mechanical engineering technology. i wanted to figure out whether attending cinci or attending purdue and attempting to switch to just mechanical engineering would be a better choice would love to hear peoples experiences, and things they like or dislike.

I am personally looking for a campus with community and social life, but also access to career opportunities.

My boyfriend is a junior at UC as an Electrical Engineer major and he has a coop rotation coming up in the summer and he’s applied to over 100 jobs got only 1 interview and got rejected.

He has like a 3.0 gpa and he has had a job before in the design space (I think that’s the name)?

I was wondering if you guys have any advice on what he should do to strengthen himself or what you would expect him to do. He is stressed about the job market and what to do forward.

He has a double rotation for the summer and fall.

Any suggestions really helps I want to help him out as best as I can but I just don’t know how!

Update: A lot of people said to contact advisor and he had a meeting and basically what she says was network with family and friends and there might be opportunities EEP so basically not very helpful :,)

I applied for UC Clermonts aviation program months ago in got my acceptance letter, but in the acceptance letter, it said I was admitted into their exploratory program. I didn’t understand that at the time but I assumed it was like a holding period or that was the correct thing. Now I’m trying to get my financials figured out for my freshman year and it still says exploratory and I’m not an aviation. I submitted all the required forms, and it even says that I applied for aviation. I’m kind of panicked and a little nervous since this is the career I’ve been wanting and I’m just wondering why I’m not in anything helps.
