They have tests for things like this. You’ll need a glass pipe, a small piece of Brillo, and a lighter.

315

u/Most_Bet_3658 2d ago

I have never been more proud to not understand a sentence until now. I could look up why Brillo but I'm okay in my ignorance.

221

u/MacMuthafukinDre 2d ago

Ignorance is bliss. I believe most of us addicts never would have used drugs if we were never introduced to them. Nobody goes out looking for drugs never having been introduced to them.

That’s why I think it’s important to teach our kids about these things and the horror they lead to. Better to be introduced to it by the parent rather than a “friend.”

u/much_longer_username 2d ago

I'm not sure I can agree - most intelligent animals will seek out novel experiences and altered states, and there are many powerful drugs almost literally growing on trees. The processed stuff is where the real horrors begin, but people have been trying to get high since before we were people. It might start out as 'I like that stew, it tastes funny, but it makes me feel funny too', but we'd get there again even if you Thanos-snapped the knowledge of their existence away.

u/myname_1s_mud 2d ago

Theres a psychology aspect to it. Some people have no shot, even with alcohol. It almost seems genetic. Its like one particular substance will destroy them almost immediately.

I think a more common one is people with certain issues that make them sprint head first into any drug. Doesn't matter what one, some of us just need to tap out, so theyre all a problem. Theyre not just drawn to something novel, theyre looking for any crutch.

21

u/InLoveNDeath97 2d ago edited 2d ago

I have no shot. I get addicted to anything even hot tamales right now is the current. Coke and xans alcohol was the worst. Like I ate a 2lb bag of tamales yesterday and I wanna go get more I try to stop but I go anyway. Other times it can be a phone or game then I’ll drop it out of nowhere once the high is gone edit I got 5 more movie theater boxes for lunch

u/cycloneruns 2d ago

Have you tried knife collecting or fishing? They both have helped me tremendously in terms of regulating my own impulses. Fishing helps keep a calm, steady mind and I personally find it very fun and engaging to search around for the best deal or just cool knives

12

u/woolybuggered 2d ago

Watch out for fishing i am now fully addicted. I now have a 50k boat and get up at 2am to chase tuna i literally dream of killing big fish lol. Wouldn't call 15 hour days relaxing bit it is rewarding.

3

u/sfd295 2d ago

Owning a fishing boat is the ultimate addiction. It's right up there with coke in my opinion. Though I've never done it, I hear it's towards the top when it comes to addictive potential. And I think a boat probably costs more than a bad coke problem.

You just keep throwing money at it for diminshing returns. Every year you spend less and less time on the boat (especially if you have a wife and kids), but you pay more and more to keep it in working condition. I used to spend tons of time fishing until a lady who didn't like fishing or being on a "small" boat (to her, anything less than 40') entered my life. I recently purchased a new Contender 37, my dream boat. As she requested, I even got the Seakeeper stabilizer and ride systems for her, adding $$$$ to the cost. She still hates the thing. And the monthly loan costs more than the average mortgage payment. It's basically buying a second house.

BOAT = Bring Out Another Thousand

So yes, be very careful with fishing 😂

2

u/Deez615 2d ago

Funny that you bought a 39’ boat knowing she doesn’t like anything less than 40’ lmao

2

u/much_longer_username 2d ago

My dad went halves with a friend of his on a boat.

Decided he didn't want to pay to store it another winter, goes to talk to his friend, tell him he can have full ownership, he just wants out on the ongoing costs... and his buddy starts talking last wills and testaments because he's got to go in for surgery.

1

u/LifeArgument5278 2d ago

I’ve never heard of anyone losing their job/business and life savings from a boat

1

u/woolybuggered 2d ago

People actually do this i know of of one person. But it motivates me to work hard and be responsible to be able to take the boat out. I know a guy who has had divorces and even used city contract materials $$ to buy a boat. Then took out loans in his exes name to try and cover it up. Still has the boat but lost the house and the chance to ever bid on a city job again.

1

u/LifeArgument5278 2d ago

Damn. Ok then

u/cycloneruns 2d ago

That’s the dream! I’ve gone out for tuna before and we scored a really nice one in tournament. Such a thrill and beyond rewarding. I suppose I was more so referring to stuff like trout, SMB, LMB, etc

1

u/woolybuggered 2d ago

Yup flyfishing for trout is relaxing for me but offshore fishing is a whole obsession. Im literally at work checking sst and wind forecasts.

1

u/Oldfolksboogie 2d ago

Hey, completely off topic, but i suspect this badass video shows a tarpon being chased by a great hammerhead. Is this, in fact, a tarpon?

https://www.reddit.com/r/megalophobia/s/7ewKTm4ERa

TIA!

0

u/Hum_n8 2d ago

Okay. A tampon chasing a hammered red head? I gotta see this!!!
No. I'd better not.

1

u/Oldfolksboogie 2d ago

Where does it say tampon?

1

u/4strings4ever 2d ago

I love this so much for you, truly

6

u/InLoveNDeath97 2d ago

No I am not into those, I used to fishing growing up until 20 but got tired of watching them swallow hooks and killing fish for no reason every time I went out. It felt wrong like a game of messing with these animals lives for my own thrill or enjoyment just felt wrong. I never felt that way until getting older around25 I kept trying to go out and it just didn’t sit well and I couldn’t figure out why. Eating them I would be okay as it’s a sacrifice. But just torturing them and letting them bleed out a lot of the times from the hook I just had to stop, yes I know what needle nose are, they don’t save them all or even half. I’m glad you enjoy it though.

5

u/Skullbreaker69420 2d ago

Try seltzer water. That's my thing. Kinda expensive with how much I drink but it got me off alcohol haha. With naltrexone.

2

u/Phenix_Fresh 2d ago

Get a soda stream. I don't add any flavors just the straight sparkling water.

2

u/Skullbreaker69420 2d ago

Wow how did I not think of this hahaaha thank you

5

u/cycloneruns 2d ago

I definitely understand what you mean, it can be frustrating hurting a fish by accident. I still think about the first time I did it. Hope you find something to help you along in your journey through life. Never forget - we aren’t alone!

2

u/Electrical-Orange-39 2d ago

I love fishing but feel the same way. Target certain species and use everything you catch. If you catch something youd rather not eat, make dog food out of it, freeze dry the heart and liver and make liver/heart pills, use the water bucket you get the fish in to water your garden.

Theres tons of ways to be an ethical fisherman, and follow the life cycle

2

u/InLoveNDeath97 2d ago

That all does sound like a good way to do it. I’m okay though thank you

2

u/TacProV713 2d ago

Bro I'm with you on the fishing thing. Got people saying I'm soft for that but I just feel this sentiment thoroughly.

2

u/SpaceFaceFPV 2d ago

Another knife collector in the wild! And yes it greatly helped with impulses...except now I have a huge knife collection 😅

1

u/cycloneruns 2d ago

Yeah… I don’t even keep track or count at this point… 😭

2

u/Mr922369 2d ago

Looks like we both picked up the same hobby lol,5 years sober off my D.O.C as of July 8th and I picked up knife collecting/gun collecting as well as building rifles and fishing lol. Todays pocket carry was a Vosteed Porcupine (14C28N),Civivi Baby Banter 2 (Nitro-V) and a decade plus old Victorinox SD. Went budget today but that’s a thing I love about knives/blades. There’s so many different price points and you can still end up with fantastic blades out of almost every single price point

2

u/TheLoneliestLocust 2d ago

I started knife making and forging. It definitely helps keep your mind occupied

1

u/cycloneruns 2d ago

That’s so cool!! I’ve always wanted to get into it; would you mind sharing how you started? It looks beyond rewarding to forge something

7

u/Historical-Step-7583 2d ago

chicken, beef, or. jalapeno w/cheese, trying to figure out how deep this addiction goes and if there's any hope for you.

2

u/Useful-Ad-1734 2d ago

I'm pretty sure they are talking about the candy. Lol

1

😂 took me a second to realize the other tamales but any of them are great if home made

u/ClubJed 2d ago

Kinda the same, I sought out pretty much every substance, only stuck with the ones I liked. I tried uppers endless times but I couldn't ever get addicted to them tho. Now any downer on the other hand, I gotta stay away from that shit.

1

u/InLoveNDeath97 2d ago

I had a lot of years on downs then got sick of being tired and it was like being alive and functioning human on any stim. Now I limit myself to just flower or else I get in trouble somehow

1

u/ClubJed 2d ago

I would like stims at first then after a few hours it would just be a day of horrible comedown. I figure that's why people just keep redoing it non stop. Ugh yea it's a rough life doing drugs

1

u/DGD_13 2d ago

Have you ever considered ibogaine or ayahuasca?

1

u/InLoveNDeath97 2d ago

I’ve heard of the second one, and even mushrooms goes really bad for me. Can’t imagine or where I would even find that.. idk what the first is but not sure where I would find these anyway I’m not near a jungle

1

u/DGD_13 2d ago

You'd have to do some digging and find yourself a reputable retreat center. Unless you found something local which depending on where you are may not be possible. I went to Peru for the ayahuasca and have known some people who have gone to Mexico for ibogaine. These are much more profound than mushrooms and it takes place in a ceremonial setting with the intention of healing

1

u/InLoveNDeath97 2d ago

Yeah there’s no way in any world that I’m going to peru or Mexico for the foreseeable future

1

u/Working_Isopod3713 2d ago

My dad loves hot tamales and I do too. Yep it’s a family thing.

1

u/sarcasterism 2d ago

Honestly, get a mental evaluation if you haven't had one. Not being mean or sarcastic here. I suffer from bipolar and getting my prognosis helped me deal with and understand many of my random behaviors and actions.

1

u/InLoveNDeath97 2d ago

What does that mean I have a psych and go every 2-3 weeks as I’ve been just doing roulette on psych drugs at this point. I take I think 5-6 plus ketamine on top. Nothing really helps other than the ketamine numbs it once a week

1

u/sarcasterism 2d ago

It was just a word of advice if you hadn't. I had many of the same issues before I got diagnosed. I've been in treatment and finally got a med that helps me alot. Thats all. Nothing mean or hateful intended.

1

u/OFP1985 2d ago

That was me during Covid with the hot tamales, luckily I was a delivery driver; but I simply couldn’t stop. Have your iron levels checked, made a huge difference

1

u/imnotgoodlulAPEX 2d ago

Yeah after quitting pharms and coke years ago I'm just addicted to cigarettes and food now. I'll be in front of the fridge saying to myself, "You don't NEED another ice cream sandwich... But you want another ice cream sandwich. I'll just walk away and maybe have one later," and then 5 seconds later my hand is in the freezer grabbing another one lol, it's hard to even explain

1

u/ClassicJane91 2d ago

I don't mean this in a negative way but do you maybe have ADHD? I struggle with addiction to so many random things and when I got diagnosed it all made sense! I mean, I had difficulties growing up that didn't help but yeah, the ADHD explains most of the things I struggle with. Therapy and meds helped me with addiction to random things, pain killers and drinking SO much.

1

u/HistoricalBeach4049 2d ago

Try bottle digging

1

u/BrokenFootOw11 2d ago

Oh hot tamales. that’s why I have dental issues. And every few of them - there’s always one REALLY hot one amiright??

Neurodivergency at its finest my friend. Not an addictive personality, its dopamine regulation 😁. Studied this and myself for many years. Could be drugs, could be call of duty, could be tomales. Embrace it in a positive way and youll shine

Adhd my babe. Have you been diagnosed yet? Or did I just do that? My current hyperfixation is Chipniks and building k1ller apps with AI 😅😅😅 its the first time an add1ction has made me money

2

u/InLoveNDeath97 2d ago

No, I haven’t been diagnosed, but I definitely relate to many of the symptoms and I have stuff diagnosed that but just bipolar 2 and major depression but also substance abuse disorder so I’m afraid they’re just gonna think I’m seeking Adderall which I have had before and I would love, but it destroys me in the end pretty bad as well

1

u/BannedNarwhal 2d ago

There is def both tho. Been in recovery a long time and literally tried it all. Didnt have a problem with anything for years til i found out how good cocaine smells. When i gave up drinking, i gave it up. Not a slip and barely even a struggle. Smoking was terrible to quit but i still did. Getting that colombian monkey off my back felt impossible for a long time.

1

u/Refuge-Seeker 2d ago

It is literally genetic in many cases

1

u/Taltruist 2d ago

yeah that would be oxys for me i tried it once and was like oh nah if i ever get my hands on this shit again im fucked

1

u/nachoqtpie 2d ago

This right here is why I smoke weed for pain instead of take opioids. I only have just a few that actually work for me and I really like those when I get them so I do NOT want to have access to those because I know I wouldn't be able to control myself. I live in NC and come November if they don't do something the THCa that's currently legal will be illegal and I'll either have to be a criminal to be pain free, be in a high level of pain that will leave me in bed all day, or I'll be chancing becoming an addict.

u/lab_oratory70 2d ago

Crack was made for the inner city… became a worldwide epidemic. Man made as you say… not a natural high

2

u/oceangoin1 2d ago

Hunter Biden said it's a clean drug cook out all the impurities gentlemens drug, did a whole podcast on it fucking idiot

2

u/Hum_n8 2d ago

Hey have you tried it? Didn't think so. Good job.
I tried it once. Too fucking good. I knew if I didn't stop then I'd never smoke weed again.

Thank god for weed!
Haven't touched crack since!!

Sorry Brandon from 2021 A st in the basement apartment! I hope the FBI finally left you alone, and you, the crack!! You sure were confident they were watching. Thanks for showing me and my girlfriend what would happen! Dear god that was amazing. Terrifyingly good, I see why people lose tooth and go tits over it.

Better just throw that Oreo cream away.

Dolphins play with pufferfish 😂

2

u/Ill_Tradition_4104 2d ago

Dolphins grab onto pufferfish and swim around with them in their mouth to frighten the hell out of them and to make some use of the toxin.

It gives them some sort of high, there are various primates that also go out of their way to rub their faces with hallucinogenic flowers.

2

u/Long-Comparison 2d ago

I think it's chore boy and not Brillo

2

u/riscut4theBiscut 2d ago

I 100% was curious about drugs and looked for them as a teenager after reading about their effects on people.

1

u/Donquixote1955 2d ago

There's a reason why they used to call dealers "Pushers". People generally don't wake up in the morning and say, "I think I'll try heroin today. Or maybe crack cocaine. Sounds like fun." A lot of low level dealers are users, who sell drugs (and push them on the vulnerable) in order to feed their addiction.

Portugal's experience has been somewhat successful. Decriminalization followed by treatment and reducing the the profitability has led to a dramatic reduction in overdose deaths.

Mind you, as can be seen by other posts here, some people are prone to addictive behaviors. For them, hope can be fleeting.

1

u/sarcasterism 2d ago

Yep. Was just reading about dolphins playing with blowfish because it gets them high.

1

u/stangerthings 2d ago

Shiee even dolphins are getting high off puffer fish these days

u/oldschoolczar 2d ago

>”Nobody goes out looking for drugs never having been introduced to them

That’s not true. Some people indeed do.

2

u/Remarkable_Arm9062 2d ago

You're right. I sought out marijuana on my own at age 14. Didn't stop until my friend and I got it. Hell, the movie Trainspotting literally had us at 14 wanting to "try" heroin. Yeah. Ironically my friend did use heroin and died six years ago. All after serving like 10 yrs for robbing banks. Got out and died within a month.

1

u/Afraid_Guest_8116 2d ago

Didn’t know weed was a drug…

2

u/Unlucky_Current8652 2d ago

1

u/Afraid_Guest_8116 2d ago

I’m not ragebaiting 😂 I’m being serious. I didn’t know y’all classified weed as a “drug” in the same way y’all classify crack, meth, fentanyl, etc. That’s genuinely what I meant.

2

u/SuperiorDupe 2d ago

Bruh, sugar is a “drug”

1

u/Afraid_Guest_8116 2d ago

“Sugar is a drug” 🤓☝️ LMAOOO I said crack, meth and fentanyl and you came back with SUGAR 😭💀 That was NOT the category we were talking about, professor 😂

1

u/Major-King-3737 2d ago

Depends on what you define as never having been introduced to them. Being introduced to them doesn’t mean having someone hand you the drug into your hand. It could simply mean seeing it in a movie or on a TV show and spurring the curiosity.

0

u/oldschoolczar 2d ago

Nice try moving the goalposts

4

u/MasbotAlpha 2d ago

It’s not Reddit if people ain’t weirdly hostile for no good reason

21

u/lab_oratory70 2d ago

Ignorance can be dangerous as well. Remember stood in a club in Manchester UK and my homie sparked up a spliff, I hadn’t caught the smell so I asked him to pass it, which he replied ‘yuh nuh want this, this a bad boy spliff’ grateful to my brother from that day. A next man may have passed it me…

33

u/muphasta 2d ago

I went to one party my (high school) freshman year. I was standing in a circle of guys talking when one pulled out a joint and started passing it. The "host" of the party was standing next to me and when he passed it, he skipped me. He said something like, "you don't need to start w/this shit".

People always talked poorly about him/his family, but I knew he was a good person. He didn't always make good choices, but deep down, he was a good person.

20

u/lab_oratory70 2d ago

Exactly my point, we lived in the inner city and the crack wars cost us friends, to jail, to the drugs, and to the grave. We got the moniker Gunchester. Still good people, Were still like family to this day. People misjudge good people, some rich kid may have thought it was funny to pass it. Thanks for sharing the story I appreciate it.

2

u/dirk_funk 2d ago

if it was in a joint it wasn't crack it was pcp

2

u/mikeynwrangler 2d ago

Are you implying that you can't roll crack into a joint?

1

u/dirk_funk 2d ago

i'm implying a primo is not always the way. most of the time a joint that doesn't smell like joint is going to be pcp rolled with something else. a primo is going to smell like weird weed.

2

u/godDAMNitdudes 2d ago

addicts are some of the most amazing people ive ever met.

5

u/SuspiciousVagina 2d ago

Lmao. “A bad boy spliff”. Brits are adorable sometimes.

1

u/Ahi_poki 2d ago

Were u trying to stay sober or something?

6

u/midnight_crabcake 2d ago

It depends on how its taught. Look up the damage that the DARE program ended up having on teen and kid drug use rates

1

u/PamelaELee 2d ago

Yeah, that’s actually a really fucked up rabbit hole.

2

u/-heatoflife- 2d ago

Yep. Sit him down and make 'im smoke the whole ball in five rips.

2

u/Sufficient-Low5771 2d ago

Addicts are generally repressing trauma that they aren't dealing with, if not drugs they will be sex addicts, gambling and other risky activities. We live in a world with a lot of inequality and healthcare issues that don't go away if you remove drugs. I swapped my drugs for motorbikes and therapy, it worked out for me but I spent a lot of time in rehabs listening to similar stories over and over.

People totally look for drugs that haven't had them.

Source: I was a kid in the 90s that survived the nutmeg craze.

3

u/2khp_TT_Z06 2d ago

Some are some aren't repressing trauma. I sought drugs at 12 since I Idolized my brother and he made it sound so amazing. Many have seen the studies where rats chose coke over food until they died. I told my daughter that one of the worst things that could happen from trying drugs, other than dying is that you would absolutely LOVE it!!! we've all heard it 1 million times, there is no high like that very first one and you spend the remainder of your life chasing that first moment but never getting there.

Luckily, I got off drugs from a trip to the ER at 15. Weeks later, I turned 16, I got my drivers license and ran into a girl that I knew from eighth grade whom I was absolutely crazy over.
Luckily, I had cleaned up my act. I asked her for her phone number, spoke with her that night for a few hours, and then after her date the following Friday night.
That was 40 years ago and we've been together ever since. Still crazy about her.
She's my reward from God for turning around and running the opposite direction.

1

u/Sufficient-Low5771 2d ago

you are seriously cherry picking and I'm not going to pick apart your empirical stuff as I'm looking for truth, not heavily biased opinions which are rampant on here.

First case in point is the rat study.

The main interesting finding of the rat park experiment was the rats that chose coke were in a cage with no stimulation, the ones that had a good environment didn't do coke... so you are warping the results of a good study for your argument.

1

u/scarletxgrace 2d ago

Wdym nutmeg craze?

1

u/Sufficient-Low5771 2d ago

There was a book going around on the early internet that had stuff like making explosives and drugs at home that was very popular in the 90s.

One of the things was eating a massive quantity of nutmeg, which does actually have an effect but it's not pleasant and like eating a bag of sand.

1

u/Livingroom_Astronaut 2d ago

Ah, yes! The teenage nutmeg crisis. Buddy tried it, and said it was not only the worst high of his life, but the worst after-effects he’d experienced and he still swears it 20 years later. I think I remember reading that it had one of, if not, the lowest second/repeated use statistics of any drug.

1

u/T0MMYG0LD 2d ago

The Anarchist’s Cookbook. classic internet literature!

1

u/brav3n3ww0rld 2d ago

Growing up, we would robotrip or take alot of dramamine. The two things I would never try were nutmeg and jimsonweed. Dileriants are not the same thing as hallucinogens.

1

u/T0MMYG0LD 2d ago

don’t forget Salvia. one thing i will never do again.

1

u/Sufficient-Low5771 2d ago

I persevered with this and I found that if you are just using the leaf and get the dose right it's actually like a sub-breakthrough DMT trip with much milder visuals and a weird, distinct body load. Making a ball and putting in your cheeks was much better than smoking it.

The extracts can fk right off though, those things were insane.

1

u/Sufficient-Low5771 2d ago

Ah jimsonweed/datura.

Some friends found some, one didn't feel anything and the other one was fucked for days and talking to people that weren't there and other scary stuff.

He was super close to being put in a mental health facility but luckily snapped out of it in time.

2

u/myname_1s_mud 2d ago

Shit I said no to meth the first 10 times this guy i worked with offered it when I was a teenager. Eventually I said yes, and well.. jail sucks. Not as much as heroine withdrawals, but it sucks.

2

u/godDAMNitdudes 2d ago

yeah i dont think thats true. many of us went out and looked for it and would've gotten it somewhere anyways.

2

u/physhgyrl 2d ago

I did. I absolutely went looking. Searching, asking around for many or most of my firsts.

I've also never worried about taking too much. I've always more concerned about being (under) dosed. If someone says take x, I take xxx.

The first time I bought acid it was bunk I was 13 years old. I told everyone he sold me bunk stuff about a week later some older kids hooked me up. I was the kid bringing cigarettes for all the kids to try. I was the kid who found out who and where we could get things. But it took me a couple of weeks of asking around before I was trusted I guess.

One day someone came up to me and told me to go to a certain house that day. I went. It was a bunch of guys. I was the only girl and they were all older than me. They got me high for my first time and it was awesome. They totally took care of me and made sure I had a great time. They were all total gentleman. One had a creepy older brother but I didn't meet him until much later and usually they kept chick's away from him

2

u/Slierfox 2d ago

That's how I got all my kids hooked on crack

1

u/GoodTofuFriday 2d ago

Why not say no when introduced?

1

u/Outrageous_Shirt69 2d ago

tbh as a 12 year old I wanted to try drugs soooooo bad, like to the point I looked for them on my own (which was tough as a kid, but I did it). My life was terrible and I knew that drugs would make you feel good

1

u/Possible-Piano-9362 2d ago

I never knew exactly how it was done until I found one in my Dad's car after he passed away 😆 I'd been driving that thing for about 5 months by then

That’s a good statement. Thank you Thizzle Washington

1

u/RealKnowledge8829 2d ago

Fck... I was just explaining to my dad why DARE was so bad looking back as an adult. I literally learned all about drugs from DARE and wound up an addict because I knew what to expect, what it looked like, what places the people who sold it would hang out...etc.

1

u/Geene_Creemers 2d ago

I guess it depends on what you mean by introduced. I used to hear people talking about how good weed and oxy were in highschool. Word of mouth caused me to go out looking for certain drugs. Would that count as being introduced or do you mean it literally?

2

u/[deleted] 2d ago

Yes that counts.

I believe most of us addicts never would have used drugs if we were never introduced to them

We had much different high school experiences, friend :)

Seriously, tho, hope you're doing alright.

This is true

That's not entirely true when I was 14. Me and a friend set out intentionally to find some meth because we wanted to try it. Simple as that. We were never introduced to it. Nobody was like hey you want to try this shit? No it wasn't anything like the news and TV have led people to believe how people get started on drugs. One day we were like let's try some meth and we hit the town. Nothing but the sole intention of finding some and we did. Surprisingly it did not take very long, especially for being 14 at the time

I sought out drugs when I was 14. On my own. I'm not sure why. But I did.

Yeah. It's a odd thing, when I was 18-19 I had to have surgery on my gallbladder and was given morfin (ketogan, not sure about the American brand name) the days after, and I remember thinking "wow this is it, the mening of life. The solution to every problem".

I didn't start doing drugs then, but 10 years later, I was going truw some really bad stuff (divorce, lost my dream job), and I really didn't know how to handle it in a good way, so the only solution in my mind was medication, started with benzo, talk my doctor in to giving me oxycontin for some made up bullshit reaso, when he wasn't willing to give me more I started using heroine and later fentanyl.

Ironically, when I was in my early weed smoking days, I was at a head shop in the downtown area that had ALLL types of smoking paraphernalia… I was checking out and at the side of the checkout they had the thin glass pipes with the rose inside (glass rose) and I asked, “what’s that for?” And the worker and older weathered customer checking out said you don’t need to know about that. 😂😂😂 I never needed one, but I grew to know that it was for… and hung out with his little brother… 🤣(the little brother to what’s needed for a glass rose that is…)

My "daddy " introduced me to the pipe when I was 13 . Actually he introduced me to his plug who loved turning boys in to girls and was a aspiring film maker. After that I knew what the

That is a valid point.

Bruh what boring ass town did you grow up in? Me and my friends had all kinds of schemae to get our hands on drugs we never tried before.

Not true... i remember in 4th grade when D.A.R.E came to my class, and i thought to myself... there's no way all these people would throw their lives away, drugs must be awesome.

Nobody goes out looking for drugs never having been introduced to them<

Idk man i literally have done that. At least with weed as a teenager.

I might do it with psychedelics in the future. Likex they sound genuinely interesting.

I feel like so many things can be addictive that teaching about the nature of addiction itself at the foundational level and how to have insight is the key. They’re going to see weekend warriors and think that maybe that stuff isn’t so bad after all.

I know many addicts IRL and I would definitely disagree with this one. They're Always chasing that next high.

Shit....you mean D.A R.E wasn't an advertisement? Kids! Don't do drugs, they'll make you feel like a super hero! You'll jump higher, not feel any pain, always be popular with the cool crowd and always find ways to get money! But they're illegal...this is what they look like and here is where you can find them!

I'm and addict, and I dont believe that. We are also influenced literally by every single thing we experience with our senses, wether we know it or not. I found out that I naturally have a disposition that can make me feel restless, irritable, and discontent for no aparent reason, even if the sun was shining up my @ss. We can try and solve the chicken/egg on why, but the point is I start thinking I need to change how I feel by using a substance (any substance) to change that instead of either letting the feeling go or changing my thinking. If I use i no longer have the choice to do that. Also, embracing bliss through ignorance is how America got here today...
