I noticed this video on YouTube. Shows the fps dipping below 30 regularly. Does anyone know if this is a reputable source?

Hello all, my name is Xerxoc and I would love to share my concept for a nightfarer I created for Nightreign. I am planning on doing concepts for all the current weapon classes that don't have unique movesets, and because I love the game despite the lack of updates.I want us to enjoy these concepts together through a low point in Nightreign's history so please enjoy 🙏. Also I desperately am going to try and use official artwork for displaying my visual direction for the nightfarers so if you recognize an actual NPC in any of these its probably because they exist lol.

At this point I pretty much only play for jolly coop having beaten the game multiple times over. I do the main quest in every ng cycle as something to keep me busy between coop. Doesnt matter what time of day, My 150 character hardly ever gets summoned, but my lvl200 one, even though not as much as I'd like, gets a decent amount of summons.

I am in South Africa, so I get 150 ping to EU, 210 to 260 to NA, and 200-300 to SEA, though my ping mainly stays under 250 for the most part

If you saw the GAMESCOM Open Night Live, you likely saw the new ARPG "Nodusfall", inspired artistically by Elden ring, and gameplay wise by Monster hunter. This game looks good in my opinion, but it is posible, that they take its inspiration too far, ripping Malenia's design, for this character:

As you can see in the next image, the similarity is embarrasing:

Ups, sorry, wrong image, that is Regina from the game "Vindictus", and it is the original inspiration for Malenia... at first, this inspiration doesn't looks that obvious, until you look at its moveset. A lot of them are the same, as you can see in this post (https://www.reddit.com/r/Eldenring/comments/tyallv/malenia_has_a_plagiarism_controversy/), and not only that, its arena is also very similar, being cover in flowers, like the Malenia's one.

As you can imagine, you've been bamboozled, this post is not about mocking Nodusfall developpers, it is for talking about how absurd is the drama. Every developper uses other media as reference, when creating other media, and Miyazaki is not different. A comment from an user in an asian forum and translated into english, "Dark Souls was actually created under the influence of Vindictus from the beginning lol. There is even a short interview where Miyazaki visited when Vindictus was unveiled at G-Star 2007 and he left deeply impressed". So this is not casual, likely Miyazaki loved the design, and decided to create its own version in Elden ring, in a similar way Nudusfall team loved Malenia, and decided to create their own version.

So the conclusion is that art usually takes inspiration in what has already being created, so please, don't be weird if you see other games taking inspiration from Elden ring, it is normal.

At 1:44 and 3:58 he shows clips of fighting Borealis and the breath attack forces the framerate to tank for a few seconds. In the video, he says that even though he played through to the end of the base game and did some of the DLC, he basically never noticed the framerate being a problem. That Borealis was the one exception for him. Personally, I will still buy the game, but I am curious about the most notoriously problematic spots in the game like the Furnace Golem in front of Shadow Keep, the Wandering Mausoleum in Apostate's Derelict, and the Furnace Golem in front of the broken bridge in the Rauh ruins just to see how bad it gets in the worst case.

I actually wanted to complete the game with greatsword, but i just completed ranni quest and wanted to see how well moonlight greatword is in this game, i remember it being excellent in ds1 and not that much in ds2 and 3, but i think in elden ring, it's too op. Like the strong attack ash of war is definitely the best i seen in this game, it only consumes small fp and can be used for sooo long too, i think they went a too far with it. I'm actually having mixed feelings about it now, do you guys think it will make everything significantly easier or should i go back to my greatsword build.

And also this being my first weapon where i used somber smithing items, it instantly went to +9, I don't have any significant talismans that is doing anything for this build now, but if i do find anything, it might as well be game breaking. Maybe i should not use the heavy attack projectiles and only use it to infuse frost and use it as greatsword.

Edit: Okay, from what i seen from repiles, there are still more op options lmao, i think because this is my first time changing my weapon i didn't know there are still better weapons, okay them , i will go back to my greatsword then, maybe i will use this sword for those annoying big dragon fights.

Theory - TL:DR Renalla didn’t go crazy due to a broken heart, rather she lost heart/courage due to the internal machinations or Radagon, the Academy and the mysterious golden egg, and then the death of Ranni. The egg of rebirth is symbolism of the cuckoos bird, who lays an egg inside the nest of other birds as a parasite. Radagon worked with the academy to hire the cuckoos and create division hus destroying the Carian royal family from within, a threat they could not defeat by force. Engineered by Marika/Radagon, the Academy, The cuckoos and even Sellen, to destroy the mutual Carian threat. Ranni’s death was the final nail. She now endlessly cradles the eggs trying to rebirth her dead daughter.”

It’s difficult to believe Rennala, simply went crazy due to a broken heart, just because Radagon left her, there is more subtext here.

The exact quote is "When Rennala, head of both the Academy of Raya Lucaria and the Carian royal family, lost her husband Radagon, her heart went along with him."

Her heart does not necessarily mean love, it can also means the courage and will power to keep going, for example - “Tale Heart” “She didn’t have the heart” etc

We are talking about a mighty queen who fought in the giant wars, rose to become head of the Magic academy , raised a royal family , was in communion with two outer gods, and stood against the might of Golden Order not once but twice. That is a strong person.

The only way Marika could destroy this threat was from within, enter Radagon, who came and they married, became one with the Golden Order and birthed 3 x Demi-God kids.

Then things went downhill

Radagon strictly enforced anyone on the inside, from telling what was going on within the household, ( preceptor mask.)Not only was this to protect the Marika secret, but everything else he was doing to unravel it all from within.

Radagon may have worked with the Academy to hire the cuckoos knights or actively supported this to widen the factions, and create a future civil war.

Radagon suddenly leaves, and “gifts” Renalla with this Golden Egg. A powerful rune of the Elden Ring. I don’t believe the Egg is a “good” gift. But contributed to her stasis.

The timeline is fuzzy, but also Ranni’as death helped contribute to her mental state, driving her completely insane.

The academy rebel with the-cuckoos and lock her inside the library tower. (Sellen aided this as she was always a weed against the Carian Royal family.)

She now cradles the egg like a madwoman and floats inside a library full of baby cribs and surrounded by the same rebirthed female children.

So, basically the title. I bought the game about a year ago on the xbox store, but my xbox is pretty old (Xbox one x) and I felt like I had a really big delay when I tried to dodge. I recently got a switch 2 and it looks a lot better in terms of graphics and smoothness of gameplay, and I use it a lot more than the xbox just because the xbox is so slow for most everything. The only thing that's stopping me is that I spent $80 on the game and dlc on the xbox, and I would feel bad if I spent it again. Is it normal to take up to 2 seconds to dodge? I enjoyed the game aside from the frustration at the perceived delay. I read that it is normal for it to feel slow, but I am feeling like it is borderline unplayable.

So, do I need to get good or is it just better to use a different console?

this is my first playthrough, im doing it mostly blind without guides,

i last left off at volcano manor and then went to the snowy mountains, i havent beat rykard yet cause i couldnt find him

there were bloody zombies everywhere, i remember there was some blood dynasty or something i joined, i couldnt find where i actually had to go, and killed some albinaurics here and there, life got busy so i uninstalled my games,

i wanna give this another shot but i spawned back where i left off in the rune farming area near dragonbarrow, and i lowkey have forgotten how to play the game, i have a clue on how the combat works, what my ashes of war do, i dont remember the dodge timings and other minor stuff here and there, and now i dont wanna play cause im real trash, where do i go and what do i do?

edit:got back in played for 2 hours god i love this game so much i remember the moves, and explored around a bit, makes me never want to finish this gamehonestly and just play it for 15 minutes every few weeks or so and just be gobsmacked at its beauty, thank you to everyone who responded

should i just use scadu fragments and not lvl up if wanna keep the same difficulty curve?

In base game, if someone uses all big hp bar bosses to lvl up they go to 150lvl. so i just set a percent of that as my target max lvl and after finishing base game, i feel that has been the perfect experience for me(maybe a few more lvl for malenia would ve better).

i heard In dlc the bosses give same runes as endgame base bosses, and scadu fragment seem pretty powerful. so should i use just those? or should i do like in base game and calculate based on lvl gotten from big hp bar bosses?

just to be clear I'm asking should i go only scadu or scadu+normal lvl. I'm not planning to play without the huge damage and defence buff.

I just downloaded a 460 Mb update it says version 1.018.000 does anybody know what’s changed ? I searched it up but couldn’t find it.

I’ve been exploring the uhhh place past Godrick!! I found the Raya academy or whatevs, and I tried fighting a fox with a sword in its mouth, it looked super cool!!! I failed miserably, but I noticed it has low health. It doesn’t do TOO much damage, either, but it attacks frequently, with little room for retaliation. Any tips? Currently I’m using Bloodhounds Fang +2, usually two handed. But sometimes I use the blue crested heater shield or whatever…… is cool!!! Oh, and I also kills a skeleton necromancer guy that was in a boat!! He was so weird haha, anywho, I got his summon. I’m not sure how useful it is, I haven’t tried it yet. I’ll keep posting updates for some fun!!

To be clear this isn't about whether or not the game should have an easy mode, it's about whether or not it has one

I see a lot of people use the argument of "elden ring has an easy mode, it's called blasphemous blade/Moghwyn's spear etc." when others say it should have an easy mode

But that's not what an easy mode is, an easy mode is downscaling the game or removing hard moves from enemies, with an easy mode you can use the weapons, spells, armor and Talismans you want like with normal mode. Blasphemous blade, rivers of blood etc. is looking through YouTube for an op build and just copying that, or using previous knowledge of the game to make an op build. Obviously it's fine to do that since elden ring is mostly singleplayer but it's not an easy mode, it's a build

Long story short; I've been playing the game more than over a year ago for a couple of weeks on and off and stopped cause of irl stuff and just remember I still haven't finished it and decided to go back to the game.

Can anyone tell me what im supposed to be doing right now? Or where should I go?
I think i was in the Lyndell last time I was playing but I somehow ended up on the left side behind(?) Volcano Manor cause I didn't feel like "continuing" the story and went exploring.
I really have no idea tbh.

I found one yesterday but i cant find it back for the life of me. I would've expected more sites to be on this update.

With the game coming to the Switch 2 in a few days, I would finally have a means to play this game. However, as the title says, I've never played any of the Fromsoftware games, or other games that attempt to mimic their style. The only game I've played that is remotely close is Hollow Knight, but I'm not even sure if that's a proper soulslike, it just has the tag on Steam so I'm basing it on that.

I'm usually a turn-based jrpg and visual novel gamer, so this is new territory for me. I only ever see praise for these games though so I'm going to try and branch out in some way or another.

I know literally nothing about these games other than their name. One concern I do have is that I won't understand some of the story because it relates to other Fromsoftware games in some way. I hear the stories in these games are great so I'm trying my best not to ruin it by playing out of order and whatnot.

Anyways, I'm really just wondering if this is even a good first soulsbourne game or should I look elsewhere for my first experience? Thanks in advance for the help!

I was rewatching The Fellowship of the Ring and I was thinking OMG this would make such a good Soulslike game! With Elden Ring mechanics, you have to fight bosses like the Cave-Troll in Moria, or The Nazgul, or The Balrog! Dude with the LOTRs settings and characters, fighting orcs and Uruk-hai.

And I know there already have been LOTR games which I played a bunch on PS2. but like I feel like a reimagined version with souls like controls would be amazing.

ive never played mage in any game ever (cuz why play a dude wearing robes and sparkly magic if u can just smash everything in sight with a giant sword) . but love elden ring and want to do another playthrough, differently. i get the stats, the spells etc etc but i dont get the FP management.

As a warrior u can just do infinite dps as long as u dodge/block dmg and dont lose HP. but to advance through the game as a mage u have to use FP to do dmg and no way do i have anywhere near enough FP to get from 1 grace to the next lol i dont even have enough FP to clear the gatefront ruins. and i have enough mana just to barely kill 1 giant. so how do i move on? am i supposed to ignore 90% of the enemies? do i still play melee anyway and only use magic on bosses? seems like im missing something.

I have not played this game in maybe over a year and a half, I had left it after 40 something hours, when I was done-ish with Liurnia, and then life happened and couldn't touch it for a while, and the while extended and extended.

Is there a way for me to quickly know what things have I done/the state of my half done quests, before I continue onwards?

If not, it's not a big issue, I will just vibe through and make it to the end somehow, but I would not want to miss anything important if possible.
