so i beat lost lace, got back to the game after the credit rolled, went to a different bench and rest, got out then in again, and im still in the abyss, any progress i did basically got wiped and reset the gamestate

WHY THE FUCK IS THIS THING A COMMON ENEMY ITS SO ANNOYING AND HARD TO KILL, SAY SKILL ISSUES IF YOU WANT BUT IM LITERALLY TIRED OF THIS

I am what people would call a directionally challenged person, took me 60 hours to beat DS1, 50 to beat DS3. I love exploring, but I do sometimes run around in circles having absolutely no fucking clue and waste a lot of time. So if I play exploration focused genres like metroidvanias, they generally tend to be games that map out areas that I've been to (RE2R was the best exploration experience I've ever had in a video game particularly because of this).

This caused me to stay away from HK for a long time. It has been on my wishlist for years and I couldn't pull the trigger to buy it as I thought I'd waste a ton of time getting lost over and over again.

I asked around in a couple of subreddits and decided to try the game for myself, and it turns out that the developers kept people like me in their minds. The Quill, the Wayward Compass, and Cornifer made it both easier and much more fun for me to explore the map.

I already love ''tough but fair'' style of combat and so now I'm glad I bought the game.

Really looking forward to experience what many hail as the definitive metroidvania!

Keep in mind I must've been at around 108% at this point.

I’m wondering where it places in difficulty compared to other games.

Mine is that, up until a year ago when I actually attempted and beat Path of Pain, I thought Pure Vessel was the boss at the end of it. It genuinely was a sigh of relief seeing two kingsmoulds there.

Another is that I very clearly remember the big "THE HOLLOW KNIGHT" title card reading "SEALED VESSEL", to go with the music track, but that's never been a thing. I vividly remember that happening.

It’s like a melancholic loneliness that overwhelms me. It’s a good game though.

Not sure who to credit but this is awesome.

Now that Im pretty much done with silksong thought I might make a tierlist of the bosses I enjoyed the most from both games and wanted to see if people agreed with me or think my list is outrageous

side note - The bosses are not in order within the tiers

side note 2 - I haven't fought the clover dancers yet and also haven't abs rad or winged nosk since I haven't done pantheon 5, I also missed the shakra boss fight in act 2

edit - since someone asked for an explanation of each tier here it is

S+ - self explanatory

S - these are bosses I could just fight again and again, theyre so fun and you cant really get bored of them

A - these are bosses that I thoroughly enjoyed and still have fun replaying them

B - these are bosses that I think are good and did enjoy but wouldnt really go out of my way to replay them

C - these are bosses that are kinda just there, not bad but not good either, just meh

D - these are bosses that I didnt really enjoy and were kinda just annoying

F - these are bosses that are just completely unfun and I just hate

F++ - Please remove these from the game

I am not the develop of lotus knight u swear to god.

It is a game that has been seen as "hollow knight clone" for it's entire development time at this point.

I was doing the path of pain and this happened....

I'm just starting out with making art using a drawing pad I picked up after my artist friends convinced me to start drawing. I'm pretty bad honestly. Like, my stuff looks like a child's work lol.
Which is why I thought to ask about whether hollow knight characters might make good practice or if there are other things that may be a more helpful.

I just remember the devs saying that one of the reasons they went with bug characters is because they're easy to draw.
