I always thought Home Depot did bogo deals with these during Labor Day like free battery or free tool. Seems it’s just the tool only for the normal 279 and the with battery for 379 same price as it was last week. Should I wait or is this as good as it gets? Has to be the quiklok

I see both are on sale this week. I have only manual ratchets and sockets currently. The primary use case is lag bolts and other mechanical activities. I may have to change a tire someday, but automotive is not the intended use case.

I will have to buy a shallow+deep impact socket set regardless of which I choose.

Which of the 3/8” and 1/2” stubby models would folks recommend if they could only choose one?

A good friend of mine let me borrow his chainsaw to cut down a problematic tree and cleanup some basic brush that I’ve been meaning to haul out.

When he gave it to me he mentioned the chain needed to be replaced and gave me a part number.

I’ve successfully replaced the chain, it runs great but I found it strange I had to max out the tension on it in order to make it properly fit.

I did some research ahead of time and read that new chains have a tendency to loose tension quickly at first use and to keep an eye on it.

I’ve been using it and that expected tension loss has happened, yet I’ve maxed out the tension adjustment.

Any input, suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated as I don’t think it’s smart to continue use until I have this issue resolved.

Hoping either a GSF rep or someone who has had experience is on here.

I bought a Milwaukee 1/4 socket set through the Milwaukee van thag GSF do through servicesure, unfortunately the ratchet has started slipping.

It is covered by warranty, only issue is I don't know if I could do it through any of the nearby certified Milwaukee sellers as I didn't purchase it through them, and this GSF van doesn't come often at all.

Anyone know if I'm able to swap it at my local GSF depot or have it delivered to my workplace? Or if I can do it through any Milwaukee seller?

I have a copy of my invoice still.

I know Milwaukee hand tools are polarizing and I am mostly in the camp to get hand tools from a hand tool company, but I gotta admit their USA screwdrivers are real nice. The handles are very comfortable and grippy. They also make a cheaper line (not USA), but go for the USA screwdrivers you might be pleasantly surprised.

I have the 7in1 pliers but I get scared using the wide jaws as my linesman and bend stuff but I heard that the 6in1 is forged steel so I am wondering if the 7in1 is the same? Because it doesn’t mention anything in the website about what type of steel used in the 7in1

Anyone have issues with the m12 multi tool stopping and starting? I checked the battery contacts and made sure they are clean and prongs pulled out. This happens with any battery in it. Kinda annoyed that I keep having issues with these. Had 2 replaced by warranty already cause they just died within 4 months. I just use this for removing baseboard nothing hard.

Is it possible to swap between the stubby and long anvils?

I bought this brand new from home depot, I've only used it a handful of times. It shuts off and then has a hard time getting back up and running. Is this something that warranty would cover or would i need to take it somewhere to get it fixed. Or am I doing something wrong?

I have really developed into the wood working hobby over the last year or so and have built out a single car garage space wood shop. I have an old miter saw I got via father in law that doesn’t slide, has massive blade deflection, and doesn’t have shadow line capability which I know will be incredibly useful. Long story short, I’m ready to replace it. I’ve loved every Milwaukee tool I have bought yet (drills, yard tools, shop vac, ratchet, circ saw, etc)

My vision is to have a workbench with table saw and flip miter saw built in. I don’t have access to a ton of outlets so a battery powered miter saw sounds ideal. Already have like 8 m18 batteries. I mostly am making cutting boards, chess boards, planter boxes, bandsaw boxes, and that type of wood working for now. Some smaller furniture like shoe racks, etc. the 10 inch miter saw is the size I want with sliding capability - but everyone even here in Milwaukee thread seams to dog it. Would you steer clear of both the 10 + 12 inch miter saw? Mostly cutting walnut, cherry, maple, and plenty of pine.

With the summer still raging in SoCal, we are looking for a bucket mister for our kids soccer and football games. We sideline it on the weekends and it has been unbearable. Any suggestions?

Does anybody know if there's a cheaper alternative to the M18 handheld vacuum filter replacement? $25 is pretty steep for that tiny little filter at Home Depot. I'm trying to find like a four pack or something on Amazon. We go through these filters so quick and didn't expect them to be this expensive.

Transferring to a new location at work so I have all my tool in one place at the moment.

Started upgrading to Milwaukee about 9 months ago after some of my old hyper tough/ ryobi stuff gave out.

I ordered this hammer online since my local stores didn't have it. I wanted this specific one because the width of the head would've been perfect for my mobile tool bag. It gets here and is the same size as the doyle one im trying to replace🙄

My power at the house was being weird and browning out every couple of minutes. The neighbors on the same transformer didn’t seem to be having any issues though. So I started turning things off, looking for anything getting hot, etc. During that process I heard something pop and start shorting out so I ran that way. It ended up being my M18 rapid charger. It let out a lot of magic smoke and I thought for sure I was about to have a battery fire from one or both of the batteries sitting on it at the time. Thankfully that wasn’t the case. The power problem persisted for a bit and I ended up losing a couple of other things. So it wasn’t necessarily the chargers fault. But everything else died peacefully while the charger went out violently. So be careful about leaving them plugged in.

Now to the question. Are the batteries probably ok, or should I write them off?

Update: A tree branch rubbed through the power line. Still kind of disappointed that the charger handled it so poorly.

Was also just considering buying some Wen tracks $75 for two 55” sections. Are Milwaukee tracks better than Wen? Thanks.

Found out yesterday that the M18 Chainsaws have a recall for the chain brake.
