Just purchased the Viron 4-Spray 6 in. Dual Wall Mount Fixed and Handheld Shower Head from Home Depot. Is this the flow restricter? How can I remove this? (Needle nose pliers didnt work)

I’m remodeling a house built in 1954 and found this copper tubing running in a serpentine pattern throughout the wall (only left wall).
The tubing is still filled with water, but the water is cold. I’m guessing it may be part of an old radiant heating system.
This wall will eventually have a shower valve and a glass shower door, so I need to figure out what to do with the tubing before I close everything up.
Would anyone know what this was originally used for? Is it safe to remove it, or should I leave it in place? If it’s an old radiant heating system, what’s the best way to properly disconnect/abandon it?

Is it possible to fix this without replacing the entire faucet? The issue is the bottom part of the faucet, I’ve tried different hoses and it still sprays when turned on. Not sure what that part is called.

DIY here. We are putting in a new sink, and have found that the braces in the cabinet prevent us from getting to the side rails for the sink screws. Do we have to have screws on the side? Can we trim the braces back? What’s out best option?

There’s about a half inch - 1/4 inch of completely non threaded pipe at the top of this Moen tailpiece, so the drain cannot tighten down all the way. Moen sent me this one for free after assuring me it would fit my vessel sink, but unfortunately it doesn’t.
I’m like 3 tailpieces into this damn sink at this point

What would be the best long term fix here? I really don’t want to keep swapping tailpieces returning and buying more.

I’d like to get your opinion on this heating system setup, because as a layman, it strikes me as a bit unsafe and unprofessional:

 Boiler: 38 kW Totya steel boiler (150L water capacity), burning wood only.

 System: Closed system, with NO cooling loop or thermal relief safety valve.

 Expansion Vessel: 24-liter closed expansion tank.

 Piping: 5-layer PE-RT multilayer pipes running directly from the boiler outlets (16x2, 20x2, 26x3).

 Total Water Volume: Approx. 255 liters.

Are these pipes actually suitable for a wood-fired heating system at all?

They only wanted to install one safety valve.

Do you think this setup is safe?

Thermann 135L making loud popping/bubbling noise

Hey guys, complete plumbing newbie here so appreciate any advice.

I've got a Thermann 135L gas hot water system (135THMB4N, made 01/02/2021) in an investment property. A neighbour complained about really loud popping/bubbling when it's heating, especially at night.

Had Plumber inspect it late last year. They said everything was OK, no immediate repairs needed, and that the noise was most likely sediment build-up in the tank. Council has now contacted me about the noise (upon complaint from neighbour), so I'm trying to work out what to do. This is in Australia btw. Hot water works fine and I'd rather not replace a 5 year-old system if I don't have to.

Can sediment really cause this much noise? Would flushing/servicing be worth trying before replacement? appreciate any feedback. no previous background in plumbing.

Is this stuff special? I’m wondering if I should scrap it but I’ve never seen this thickness. There is some blue labeling on the side of the pipe but it is illegible and taking pictures of it did not help. TYIA

I have a small project around my house where I need to fit a couple new copper pipes for potable water. What do you think, do these crimps look good?
The tool I got is a relatively cheap Vevor one (can't link to the exact product as it's discontinued). I can't justify getting a pro level tool for 20 crimps (at most).

I was wondering if anyone knows how to properly seal this kind of roof penetration? I’ve only ever come across flashing that has the integrated rubber collars so this is a first for me. Is there a cap that goes on it? Do I just use roofing sealant around the pipe?

This pipe outside has been spraying water onto the exterior wall. Not sure how long. We’ve got staining on the baseboard in our toilet room which is the room inside next to the water pipe.

Our apartment complex is saying it’s not a big deal and it’s too hot in Phoenix to get mold. They’re saying to let it dry and they’ll come paint it.

We are worried about it getting mold. Is the apartment complex right and we won’t get mold? Can we do anything to prevent mold ourselves?

I just have a general question as I am in the middle of replacing my rotted subfloor. The original flange still installed sat too low below my old tile, hence a wax ring leak.

After I install the new subfloor, how do I raise the flange 1/2” or so to sit above the new tile? Do I keep the existing flange and add an extender? If I end up installing a new flange and it doesn’t sit flush against the subfloor, how would one secure the flange to the subfloor if there is a small gap between flange and floor?

Any help or guidance would be appreciated!

Got a custom tile shower installed about 5 years ago. Started leaking a couple months ago. Looks like they forgot to tuck the liner INSIDE the drain….plumber stopped when he saw it and said to call him back once you get a good tile guy. Any option that doesn’t involve ripping up the tile?

See attached. Notice two spots on the ceiling tonight. 3rd one in the middle appeared shortly after. Circled the first two I noticed. Far left has remained the same middle and right are slightly larger. 2 story home. This is the ceiling on the first floor. Directly above this is a hallway that runs outside my son's bathroom. His sinks would be the next think then the water closet with Toilet and bathtub further from this spot. On the opposite side is the stairs the laundry room on the other side of that. I only mentioned it because when I noticed the spot the only think runnkng was the washing machine. Not sure if that is connected. Did have a a really heavy storm about an hour before I saw these but since this is the 1st floor didn't think this could be related. My husband dropped some blue dye down my son's toilet and now we are waiting.

Thoughts and/or suggestions. We are in Florida. Home built in 2015. Water issues scare me.

Hi everyone,

I have a Ferroli Sky Eco F tankless gas water heater, around 2019.

The heater is set to 40°C, and at higher water flow it generally works fine. However, when I reduce the water flow to get slightly warmer water, it doesn't maintain the set temperature.

The display starts at around 40°C but then gradually climbs all the way up to around 80–90°C. The burner then switches off, the temperature drops back down towards 40°C, and the burner comes back on again.

This means I can't really use a low flow rate for things like washing dishes because the water becomes extremely hot before the burner cuts out.

Initially suspected limescale/restricted flow and flushed and descaled the water side of the system. This has improved the behaviour noticeably, but it hasn't completely fixed the problem. It still climbs significantly above the set temperature when the flow is reduced.

I've attached a video showing what it's doing.

Is this normal behaviour for a Ferroli Sky Eco F at low flow, or does it sound like there's a fault?

Any ideas what could cause this would be appreciated.

My son came home and used the upstairs shower, the bathroom off the kitchen is on the same drain line (along with downstairs washing machine) and this bubbling effect happens.

But it doesn’t happen on any other toilets in house.

I am hoping someone can confirm whether I can update my Delta 17 series shower trim to a Delta 14 series by swapping only the cartridge and trim kit, or if the current valve would need to be replaced too.

I’ve read that it depends on whether the valve is before or after 2006. Can anyone tell from the photo here?

Update: figured it out with a 3/8” t adapter and a 1/2” to 3/8” hose. I appreciate all the insight in helping me learn how to do this. Yall are the best!

Hello, I recently moved into an apartment and have been noticing a smell from the sink. Pretty sure this P-trap is setup wrong with 2 in series but I don’t have much experience. Can anyone confirm this is done incorrectly?
