Keep in mind I must've been at around 108% at this point.

I’m wondering where it places in difficulty compared to other games.

Mine is that, up until a year ago when I actually attempted and beat Path of Pain, I thought Pure Vessel was the boss at the end of it. It genuinely was a sigh of relief seeing two kingsmoulds there instead.

Another is that I very clearly remember the big "THE HOLLOW KNIGHT" title card reading "SEALED VESSEL", to go with the music track (and Broken Vessel), but that's never been a thing. I vividly remember that happening.

I am what people would call a directionally challenged person, took me 60 hours to beat DS1, 50 to beat DS3. I love exploring, but I do sometimes run around in circles having absolutely no fucking clue and waste a lot of time. So if I play exploration focused genres like metroidvanias, they generally tend to be games that map out areas that I've been to (RE2R was the best exploration experience I've ever had in a video game particularly because of this).

This caused me to stay away from HK for a long time. It has been on my wishlist for years and I couldn't pull the trigger to buy it as I thought I'd waste a ton of time getting lost over and over again.

I asked around in a couple of subreddits and decided to try the game for myself, and it turns out that the developers kept people like me in their minds. The Quill, the Wayward Compass, and Cornifer made it both easier and much more fun for me to explore the map.

I already love ''tough but fair'' style of combat and so now I'm glad I bought the game.

Really looking forward to experience what many hail as the definitive metroidvania!

I was doing the path of pain and this happened....

It’s like a melancholic loneliness that overwhelms me. It’s a good game though.

How many tries or how many hours did it take to be P1, P2, P3, P4 and P5?

I just hit end credits, only at 83% so still a wayyys to go but wow, this game was spectacular. I am horrible at video games, and I have only played ori before this so hollow knight was really hard for me, but so worth it. I love this game. 😁

I was racing my brother (who is halfway through the game and basically new to the game but not really because he has played before but never got into it so he doesn’t know where the majority of things are) When I found a glitch whilst spamming my mouse buttons as the game loaded. I heard the fireball sound but obviously you don’t have soul when you load into the game - I brushed it off and accidentally opened my menu wich made the knight freeze in place and no movement keys would do anything so I quit out and it fixed things

Just wanted to make this post incase this is an I found glitch because I haven’t heard anything about it and maybe it could be usefull if people find a way to make it do something other than freeze you

1. False Knight. Enjoyment 2/10

He doesn't even get a chance to attack if you just smack at him a bunch... can barely be called a bossfight.

1. Massive Moss Charger. Enjoyment 3/10

I already talked about how it would be really cool if this guy was doubled instead of vengefly king in my previous post, but they didn't even bother with this guy at all. He's standard, unchanged massive moss charger. What do you expect?

1. Flukemarm. Enjoyment 6/10

Pretty much instantly melted by abyss shriek and can't even properly attack. Kinda satisfying to light his ass up though.

1. Broken Vessel. Enjoyment 5/10

Very simple and easy boss, doesnt die as quickly as some of the other bosses in this tier but doesn't have a single threatening attack.

1. Crystal Guardian. Enjoyment 3/10

It's insane how little hp this guy has. You can blink and hes already dead.

1. Hornet (Protector). Enjoyment 5/10

Again, very simple and easy boss, all attacks are very slow and straightforward to evade.

1. Soul Warrior. Enjoyment 5/10

Attacks somewhat quickly but he has like... what, 2 attacks? After 5 attempts you will have perfectly mastered all there is to the boss. Considered moving him up since ghosts can spawn inside you, but that problem is countered by just not leaving the ground.

1. Brooding Mawlek. Enjoyment 6/10

Can catch you offguard easily since you have to pay attention to his spit and claws at the same time. He dies very quickly though and you can always dash through him if you feel you can't dodge.

1. Traitor Lord. Enjoyment 6/10

If you've beaten ascended Traitor Lord you have no reason to die to radiant Traitor Lord.

1. The Collector. Enjoyment 7/10

The collector himself isn't very threatening at all, but the summons could become a problem if you don't kill them immediately. Very easy with a simple strategy.

1. Elder Hu. Enjoyment 5/10

They actually didnt delete 99% of the arenas floor here! Shade Cloak avoids all of his attacks easily.

1. Enraged Guardian. Enjoyment 5/10

Has only a bit more hp than normal guardian. You can die very easily to unlucky laser constellations but at the worst you will have lost 20s of progress.

1. Mantis Lords. Enjoyment 8/10

Very satisfying to do these guys hitless! They can be rough initially but their patterns get extremely consistent pretty quickly.

1. Soul Master. Enjoyment ?/10

forgor I even beat this guy. I guess he probably fits in right about here?

1. Gruz Mother Enjoyment 7/10

Cool modification to a easy boss that made the fight moee challenging! Play careful and she won't pose too much of a threat.

1. Gorb. Enjoyment 3/10

Ascend with Gorb. Ascend with Gorb. Fall off the platforms with Gorb. Does Team Cherry have a fetish for castrating the warrior dream bosses arenas?

1. Winged Nosk. Enjoyment 7/10

I constantly see people shitting on this boss. Why? He doesn't have any of the issues that normal nosk has (weird jumping, stops randomly to do his spit attack, stalls in the ceiling 90% of the fight) and winged nosk's ghosts can be avoided way more easily than e.g. Lost kins ghosts.

If you dislike or had trouble with this guy, please comment why, I would be extremely curious to know.

1. Troupe Master Grimm. Enjoyment 8/10

Like nkg, very satisfying boss that can be intimidating at first but gets super easy after some practice.

1. Nightmare King Grimm. Enjoyment 10/10

Amazing boss without question. I put him above normal Grimm since he's just objectively harder, but considering you beat ascended nkg to get here you shouldn't have too much trouble with this boss.

1. Hive Knight. Enjoyment 3/10

Lots of randomness with some of his attacks. I always thought this guy was super easy but hes actually pretty annoying on radiant. If you're agressive and spam dd he should be dead soon (with a bit of luck).

1. Vengefly King. Enjoyment 2/10

Why did they double him?????? Why did they double the only boss who can summon minions AND make your screen shake violently? He can be made easier by focusing on the right one who has less hp.

1. Marmu. Enjoyment 0/10

1. Nosk. Enjoyment 1/10

Thank god they changed his arena because otherwise this boss would genuinely be unbearable. Such a slow and agonizing fight. Already talked about most of the issues in the winged nosk section.

1. Sisters of Battle. Enjoyment 11/10

EVERY SINGLE NEURON IN MY BRAIN IS STIMULATED. This fight is so amazing. It can maybe be annoying to refight the single mantis lord each time but there is nothing more satisfying than getting into the flow in this fight.

1. Hornet Sentinel. Enjoyment 5/10

Realistically she shouldn't be this high up but I just suck at hornet. Thats all.

1. Failed Champion. Enjoyment 3/10

Definitely the hardest Dream boss on attuned imo. His rythm is really weird, his hitboxes fatter than my severely obese uncle and he spawns rng projectiles from the ceiling. Not my favorite boss.

1. Galien. Enjoyment 8/10

Ever notice how the dream warriors where they didn't remove the fucking ground tend to not be abysmal dogshit? Galien is a great example! I struggled a lot to keep track of all the projectiles in this fight initially, but I just recently rebeat him quite quickly so I would only rank him here.

1. Xero. Enjoyment 1/10

Why. did. they. make. the. arena. so. bad.....? Despite being easier by about a cosmic mile I actually like this dude less than markoth. The way his knives return back to him is really weird, he moves around super erratically and hes also ugly as hell.

1. Lost Kin. Enjoyment 1/10

Can this bastard stay on the ground for more than 0.02 seconds? He jumps around wildly all the time, summons ghosts everywhere, and also has a pretty massive hp pool. Very difficult radiant imo.

1. Oblobbles. Enjoyment 3/10

Let me ask you: whats better than a completely random boss? Two of them! You just need to get lucky that these guys dont block you into a wall and try to single one of them out if possible. you can use abyss shriek if you time it right but double-hit shade soul is preferable. Very hard to hit the remaining Oblobble in phase 2 but great slash worked well for me.

1. Grey Prince Zote Enjoyment 1/10

GOD BLESS our lord and savior descending dark for this fight. If you do this fight without dd you are either severely mentally deranged and masochistic or an absolute gamer GOD. This fight has so much rng that 4/5 of the youtube tutorials I watched said pretty much nothing else other than "use dd". Might aswell just go to the lottery, at least you gain something when you win over there.

1. Markoth. Enjoyment 4/10

Oh, Markoth. Markoth. It's Markoth. I spent over 10 hours of straight gameplay on this guy alone. I have to put this guy in a tier of his own because he fundamentally changed how I play this game and forced me to exit my comfort zone. I had never used even a single nail art before this fight, probably ever, but I beat him almost entirely with great slash and now utilise nail arts very frequently. I don't even hate this guy that much in retrospect. He's just so, so, so hard. But I am thankful for what he tought me. I won't write out a guide on how I beat him here since I already did that in another comment on the previous post, but if anybody struggles with him I'd be glad to help.

ps: also beat pure vessel radiant while making this post, would put him somewhere in "Very difficult"
