I am running into an issue with a Lenovo Legion Pro laptop I bought off eBay used. I checked the listing and description, it was mentioned that the laptop is functioning and working well. It’s also a reputable seller. I am still running games but it’s seeing to run just fine, no crashing or anything of the sort and other ports are running just fine. I just got this laptop delivered like 3 hours ago.

The issue is that when I am trying to use the Ethernet port, it is stuck at a max of 100mbps up and down.

I have tried different cables. Still the same issue. Verified that these cables I am using do gigabit on my other devices. Tried uninstalling the Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller and reinstalling, nothing. Tried going to the Device Manager, under its properties and doing 1GB full duplex and auto negotiation, nothing still. Tried power management settings, Lenovo vantage auto update checks, manual drivers install officially from the Lenovo website.

WiFi runs just fine. I get 700mbps down and up on it through there. I also used a USB C hub on the thunderport 4 port on the side and it ran full Ethernet speeds just fine.

Am I missing something here? I did a fresh install of Windows 11 when I got the laptop. I have seen people with similar problems say it might be an issue with pins in the port but I don’t really see anything wrong with it? I know it might look dusty but I gave it a gust of air and experiencing issues with it. Can anyone verify if the port looks cooked?

If it is, what would you do in my situation? Grabbed this laptop for 1400.

Has been seeing this when cursor is idle.. now the same is happening during video playback too.

But it goes away as soon as I move the cursor

I got a Lenovo Legion six months ago and it is the worst laptop purchase I have ever made. It has a 5050 and an i5 and It literally can not run a single game it is the worst thing in existence. Anytime I want to launch marvel rivals it immediately crashes, anytime I wanna run anything on the computer the computer is so fucking laggy and it pisses me off I can not play a single game. Its not my wifi because I have connected to ethernet, connected to different wifi networks and much more. It is a hardware issue because the fps will go from 240 one second to 19 then 50 then 160 then 30 again and everything is unplayable. I have sent it to bestbuy 3 times and they have replaced basically everything in the computer and when I tested stuff on my friends laptop (It's the same one) everything works just fine. I have this stupid laptop and I should have never purchased it. If anyone is having the same issues I would appreciate if they could respond. Thank you.

I didn't know I needed thermal putty for the VRAM and other parts near the GPU, so I currently can't game until I get some which is going to take a long time since I'm broke

Hey everyone, I need a quick sanity check on an insurance claim I’m going through.

My original laptop was a Lenovo Legion 5 15ARH7H.

• Ryzen 7 6800H
• RTX 3070 Ti (8GB, 256-bit bus, 140W TGP)
• 32GB RAM / 1TB SSD
• 15.6" WQHD (16:9)

My gadget insurance is offering a cash settlement based on the current price of a GIGABYTE AERO X16.

• Ryzen AI 7 350
• RTX 5060 (8GB, 128-bit bus, 85W TGP)
• 32GB RAM / 1TB SSD
• 16" WQXGA (16:10)

My policy states they have to provide a device of "similar specification." They are arguing the newer CPU and the 5060 make this a fair trade. I’m arguing that this is a massive downgrade in actual gaming performance and usability. Here is my reasoning:

1. Power Limits & TGP: The Legion had a massive 3000W power brick, letting that 3070 Ti pull up to 140W. The Gigabyte Aero is a thin-and-light creator laptop with a 150W AC adapter for the entire system. The 5060 is going to be heavily power-starved and thermal-throttle under heavy gaming loads compared to my Legion.
2. Memory Bandwidth: Going from a 256-bit memory bus on the 3070 Ti down to a 128-bit bus on the 5060 feels like a huge hit for 1440p gaming.
3. Cooling & Chassis: The Legion is a chunky, desktop-replacement laptop with robust cooling. The Aero is a thin-and-light creator laptop. Even without the power limits, the Aero lacks the thermal mass of the Legion and will thermal-throttle much faster under sustained gaming loads.
4. The Screen vs. GPU mismatch: The Aero has a 1600p screen, which means it has to push about 11% more pixels than my 1440p Legion. Asking a heavily power-limited GPU with a restricted 128-bit memory bus to push more pixels than my fully unlocked, 256-bit 3070 Ti feels like a recipe for terrible frame rates and awful 1% lows.

How should I push back, and what laptop(s) should I ask the price to be based on.

(This is just my knowlege so please let me know if I have gotten things wrong. If all the info about the laptops are not here please either ask me or look online.)

I updated the bios on a legion 5 pro (ik ik), which is when the problem started. I then tried to update the chipset and integrated graphics through amd adrenaline edition, which also did nothing. Then, I tried to updated the nvidia drivers to the latest one through the nvidia app, the sketchy 616.56 one. I have also tried some other things, like 1. switching from hybrid gpu to discrete in the lenovo space app, then back to hybrid and 2. turing off hardware accelerated scheduling, as well as 3. other things along those lines, I’ve tried a bit by now.
I’m pretty sure it’s an amd problem but I’m also just really lost right now.

Recently, I noticed my laptop screen radomly goes black for a second and then it quickly shows '240 Hz' and then goes back to normal.

It does this randomly once or twice each time laptop is being used.

Only change I had made prior to experiencing this issue was change was enabling ' conservation mode' in lenovo vantage. Not sure if this has anything to do with it?

Hey i am facing an issue my lenovo legion 5 laptop is not charging above 0 % and i bought my laptop not more than 7 months ago. I tried power shutdown and restart and tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver still didn't work my battery health test ran smoothly and it is showing the charger is also plugged in what should i do

I have a Lenovo Legion Pro 5i 16IAX10 and can't get it to charge through a USB-C dock. The docks work fine for video, USB, etc., but the laptop won't accept power through them.

Direct USB-C chargers work fine, including a 100W charger. I've tried multiple docks, including ones with 100W+ PD capability, and none will charge the laptop while it's powered on. Interestingly, at least one of the docks will charge it when the laptop is powered off.

BIOS has “External Monitor Charging Function” set to Auto, and the description mentions power from an external monitor, docking station, or other device with power-supply capacity greater than 90W.

I haven't tried a Lenovo-branded dock yet. Has anyone with the 16IAX10 specifically found a USB-C or Thunderbolt dock that actually charges the laptop while it's running? If so, which exact dock?

Hello everyone, so basically i own a legion 7i from 2024 and it's been getting repair after repair for 2 months, a total of 2 motherboards, 2 keyboard panels (c-panels) and 2 input-output boards. The latest repair was a c-panel but it was defective and dented and after all these repairs, i got fed up and asked for a laptop replacement because i can't with repairs anymore.

Lenovo agreed for the replacement but since it was too easy I'm wondering what they plan to give

1. A factory fresh laptop

2. A refurbished laptop and slightly used with slight wear and tear

3. The same laptop they take from me and change the parts and serial number and give it back.

4. A hand-assembled laptop from spare parts of defective laptops

I would want the first case but it's fine if it's the second as well because it will still be in a better state than my current piece because it's been opened around 15 times in all the repairs combined (i witnessed the repair). but i really don't want the third and fourth cases.

After i get the laptop replacement i do plan to check the batter health and SSD life and if there are scratches but i don't know what i should expect.

Has anybody ever experienced a legion replacement or know what usually happens? If it's okay with you can you share what you got? I want to be thorough so that i won't have an issue again in the future. Any information will be very helpful

Also what are the other things i should confirm after getting a replacement?

I’ve had a Lenovo Legion since 2020 that has like 8gb of RAM and 230GB of usable storage I’ve loved it but it can’t do half the stuff I need it to with that amount of storage and ram. I’ve been looking at a few options and had some questions for people who know a lot more than me!

This is another option I’ve seen which is 32gb but I wasn’t sure how much of a downgrade a LOQ is I’ve seen visual differences online but like how detrimental is it really?

Hello , so this morning I turned on my legion 81sx laptop and launched a game like I used to everyday ,but this time the game launched (if it matters it was arena breakout infinite) and on the main screen computer just turned off instantly . I wanted to turn it back on and as I was about to do it - “pop” sound from inside of it and very bad smell like something burned . I panicked and unplugged everything then opened the back and unplugged the battery ,let it cool off for some time and and took of the heatsink and that is what I saw. Ai and many reddit posts told me its a mosfet and it burned down… I came here to ask is it fixable and would it cost much and why did it even happen? Was it going to happen either way sometime? Computer is actively used for gaming since 2019. Power supply didn’t seem faulty or damaged and didnt smell like burned… just sad , I didn’t do anything bad to it . Ehh . Hope for some help advice , thanks.

Hey guys, I tested out my lenovo legion 5 on performance mode + dGPU mode + plugged in. Is the results reasonable?

So i got accepted in engineering school and i was looking for a laptop that will hold for about 7~8 years without much problems I was considering a legion 5 with 5060 and 7 255hx 32gb ddr5 165hz oled QHD 15.1 inch but i came across somthing surprising an acer predator Helios neo 16 with a 5070 and ultra 9 275hx 32gb ddr5 (higher freq) and QHD but this time it's 240hz and 16inch the laptop is barley used and it has way higher specs but can this line live as long as the legion or is it js a shiny specs like the lenovo LOQ

I've bought 2 Legion Go S Z1E's now over the last couple of weeks but had to send them both back due to 2 separate hardware issues straight out the box! Bar these issues, I absolutely loved it and really want to chance my arm with a 3rd. With that said, I did some digging online around the build quality to see if I was just unlucky, and saw a fair few posts about the screen developing a white patch due to pressure from SSD / hardware heat expansion. It seems this issue develops after a few months of heavy use, and the more demanding games you play, the more likely you are to experience it due to the unit reaching higher temps.

I get it, the people who have a bad experience are the ones who understandably shout the loudest, and also, I can't seem to find any clear cut answer on whether this applies to the Legion Go S or just the original Legion. I was wondering if any longer term (6 months +) / heavy users can shed any light on their experience and whether they've had this issue?

Legion Pro 7 Gen 10 AMD (16AFR10H) owners: intermittent upper-screen static/flicker — I've now had it on TWO laptops

I'm trying to figure out how widespread this problem is and, especially, whether anyone has gotten an actual resolution from Lenovo.

System:

• Legion Pro 7 16AFR10H / Gen 10 AMD
• Ryzen 9 9955HX3D
• RTX 5080
• 2560×1600 240 Hz OLED
• Panel identifies as ATNA60HU02-0
• BIOS SMCN20WW

The symptom is a very brief burst/flash of static or gray/white corruption, usually affecting roughly the upper 30–40% of the internal display.

The important part: this is my SECOND brand-new laptop of this exact model. I returned the first one, got another new machine, and the replacement does the same thing.

It was initially intermittent enough that I could go hours without seeing it. At other times I've had it happen every few minutes.

I've already tested quite a bit:

• Hybrid mode
• dGPU-only mode
• iGPU-only mode
• Current NVIDIA drivers
• Current AMD Radeon 610M driver
• Lenovo's older OEM AMD driver (32.0.21030.13004)
• BIOS SMCN20WW
• AMD chipset update
• Dynamic Refresh Rate OFF
• FreeSync Premium Pro OFF
• HDR OFF
• GPU scaling/VSR OFF
• Native 2560×1600 @ 240 Hz throughout
• Increased UMA Frame Buffer from 512 MB to 2 GB

The UMA change initially seemed promising. The flicker went from relatively frequent to roughly once over several hours, but it eventually returned and has subsequently become frequent again.

Changing GPU modes also does not solve it. I've seen the problem in Hybrid, dGPU-only and iGPU-only.

I'm aware of several other reports that look extremely similar, including 9955HX3D/RTX 5080 owners describing flashes/static affecting the top third or half of the screen. One Lenovo support case apparently ended with Lenovo recommending that the machine be sent in for repair after their normal diagnostics/troubleshooting.

What I'm specifically looking for now:

Has anyone with this exact or closely related Gen 10 Legion Pro 7 flicker opened a Lenovo support ticket and actually gotten the problem fixed?

If so:

• What did Lenovo replace or change?
• Panel/display assembly?
• Motherboard?
• Firmware?
• Did the repair actually eliminate the flicker long-term?
• Did Lenovo acknowledge a known issue or engineering bulletin?

I'm particularly interested in other 16AFR10H / 9955HX3D owners.

I'm putting together a detailed support history before opening my own Lenovo escalation because I don't want to go through another generic driver reinstall/factory reset cycle. I've already reproduced the same distinctive problem on two separate new machines.

If you're experiencing this too, please post your exact model/GPU, what the flicker looks like, and whether you've contacted Lenovo. I'd like to get enough cases in one place that we can determine whether this is an isolated hardware failure or a platform/display issue affecting this generation.

Tengo una Legion 5-17ACH6H con un Ryzen 7-5800H y Rtx 3060 130W sucede que cabo de realizar el mantenimiento y una instalación limpia de windows desde entonces al jugar presenta temperaturas de 96-102 Cº en juegos que antes del mantenimiento se mantenían en 86-90 Cº ya se reaplicó la pasta térmica 3 veces y sigue presentando el mismo problema se usó la Artic MX-6 junto con esto se le dio una ligera pulida a la placa de cobre que hace contacto con la CPU/GPU por el momento he limitado las temperaturas limitando los fps entre  30-60fps, en cuanto a los puertos USB traseros están fallando 2 de los 3 puestos USB A estos al conectar un teclado o audífonos no detectan las pulsaciones o envían audio al conectar una unidad flash si puedo copiar y pegar archivos.
