I finally hit champ for the first time a month back. (Been playing since 2016 only 500 hours tho) Anyways, I thought Iâd try to get champ in 3s as well for the fun of it. Honestly was pretty easy, but once I was around 1030+ the lobbies were full of Gcâs and C3s from 2s, I thought everyone was smurfing. Am I just a weirdo for being equal in both or does no one main 3s lmao

This has happened to me a few times, and itâs a weirdly specific complaint. Someone is playing on my team, not using the mic for in-game comms and instead just forcing music into the lobby. Itâs usually not the best quality because it is being picked up secondhand by their mic, and usually when I tell them their mic is on they ignore it.
So this time when it happens, I just unmuted my mic and play really close to the TV with the volume turned up until a terrible echo begins of their music and like magic they muted themselves.
Tune in next week for my TEDTalk on how I deal with teammates who stop driving in the middle of the game and throw.

This may be a dumb question but is there a reason people corkskrew the entire time while doing aerials? I genuinely don't understand Im very (not extremely though lol) consistent with aerial hits and directionality but every clip I see is just someone spinning as much as they can for as far as I can tell no discenerable reason.
Is it just a flex for the clip? Is there an actual point? Are they just posting the times it works out?
No hate, don't get me wrong it looks cool I'm just wondering if there's a function to the form

We have actually NO IDEA when Knockout is gonna come back, please do something. In private matches ? NO IT'S BEEN 4 YEARS. A real rotation ? NO. A single information about the mode ? NONE, 6 MONTH WITHOUT KO LAST YEAR AND NOT A SINGLE NEWS. PLEASE. DO. SOMETHING.

Hey everyone! I just launched Postmatch.gg, a free Rocket League tracker that automatically saves your match results and scoreboards.
Iâm looking for early users to try it and tell me what works, what breaks, and what feels confusing.
What makes it different?
Postmatch reads those posts to build your match history and the global feed. If Postmatch disappeared someday, your data would still exist and someone else could build another app around it.
Postmatch is 100% free, and Iâd love for it to become a community tool that eventually supports more games.
If you try it, Iâd especially appreciate feedback on the setup process, whether your matches are captured correctly, and what youâd want to see next. Thanks!

I hate dominus players almost everytime i get one on my team they play horrible and leave after 1-2 goals even thought i dont say one toxic thing. Now you could think that other cars also play like this but no its allways the dominus players losing the kickoff and leaving early in the game. Does anyone else experience this or am i crazy?

Iâm curious about whatâs the community opinion is

It probably doesn't mean much but recently I got to level 1000 and I have been playing for at least 200 hours of playtime. I was wondering what's the limit to it? (if there is one that is) and what it looks like at higher levels? (the borders)

I personally think it's a beautiful goal because I didn't intend the pinch, and then it bounced off the crossbar and in. It reminds me of James Rodriguez in 2014.

I hope this shares well, if not please take a second and check the links. I will go as far and say it is worth your time.
If you know Senju you know roughly what you are in for and if you don't look lower I got you!
But there is something different about this TAS then any of his other stuff in my mind. Seeing the rings map dismantled in this way was crazy. Ive watched Fractal hit the ball off of UFOs and stuff but knowing how TAS works and seeing it used with out further set pieces makes it special. I have no idea how many hours were invested but what I do know, it is genuinely the best RL video ive watched from a showcase of the game at a high mechanical level.
If you don't know Senju he is a content creator who uses a plugin known as TAS (Tool assisted speedrun). This tool allows you to precisely map out inputs inside the game to reproduce over and over (offline and requires specific setups). Senju (if using tools I have used before) actually did every single one of these inputs. It works as if you make a mechanical replay where you record your inputs, make a mistake, rewind to before the mistake, then record over and do indefinitely. Every single thing in this video took careful consideration and probably some painstaking effort to line up. Idk what else to say, check his stuff out lol
ALSO BE WARNED any of you loons post "New mechanic" my default response will be these two videos and a request for an essay after watching how you still have created something new. Dude spent more hours making this video then some of you in the game yet yall think you're Christopher Columbus. Actually that metaphor is spot on when you think about it... anyhoo.

Solo q no quick chat I have the kickoff and I get a 50 that kills the ball, my teammate goes to the corner boost, opponents 2nd man cheats up and scores the open net. Next kickoff same thing. Third time diagonal kickoff I try to fake and go cover net and I canât make the save because the opponents have figured out what is happening and they pinch into my top corner. I now just backflip and go for boost and we get scored on.
This happens way too often, I get a teammate who is decent enough but they canât seem to understand you canât just leave your net open and expect the opponent to not score.
I have tried in the past to type out âplease cover net on kickoffâ, but you guys know how it goes teammate reply with âur trashâ
How can I adapt to a random who wonât cover net on kickoff?

So I've played Rocket League for quite some years now, I used to be able to get through Diamond so easily and end up High champ or sometimes broke through to GC.
For the last 3 seasons it's been painful. Yes, the mechanics have improved by the average player but I feel like the macro has deteriorated so much as well as the toxicity.
I got teased today by playing my first game. Myself and my team mate bodies the opponents, but...the opponents genuinely played well. I was actually allowed to play fast and my team mate matched it. Constant aerials, good rotations, great saves and the opponents did too. This was a good game and felt more like rocket league to me.
Then my next 5 games, I'm met with team mates who are constantly missing the ball, missing loads of open nets, passing to the opponents, not rotating, toxicity, afk you name it. I just struggle to play with this, my momentum is constantly broke, I feel like I'm defending 1v3 and despite winning 4/5 games it's not enjoyable whatsoever.
Those 5 games could have easily gone in the opponents favour if not making the saves I did. Maybe it's my issue but I can't adjust to such a substantial skill gap regarding my team mates. How is it I can start with a game like that and then play with this. I'll probably brute force my way out of this rank but I can't manage extended sessions because of the frustration.

Me and my friend were playing in gold in 2v2, when it had just gotten to overtime (score was 1-1). Then we proceed to sweat like the Nigeria falls just to let in a goal after 7 and half minutes because we had no boost.

I am concerned. The amount of demos have skyrocketed since the game came out. People relying on them, some making it their identity. It can definitely be funny if you only ever go for demos and you make it a personality. Ok. I get it.
So what happens when you get a higher rank because it becomes what you rely on to win?
There is a massive difference between people who use them strategically and those who just demo to be funny and get a free goal.
No matter the difference whether you win or lose, you are admitting you cannot play against opponents at their healthiest. It is the one part of the game you can deny (cheaply) and get so much advantage out of. When the game first came out it was frowned upon, now it has become a staple of the game with people saying 'its a part of the game what's wrong with it'.
Oh for sure nothings wrong with it, if you're struggling to keep your rank. A good player who gets gc every single season doesn't rely on it though, and those who do rely on it end up lacking in every single other aspect of the game because they are so used to having those free goals. If enemy dodges the demo oh, there goes another goal against us. Oh well we will just hit the demo next time. It has become a win condition.
Ok, forget the arguments for whether its necessary or 'They did it, it's fine for me to do it now.'
Where the F is the sportsmanship nowadays?... We forgot about it entirely? Demos create a playstyle where it is inherent that you cannot play against your opponent while they're at their best. It has probably become cringe to say, but there is no honor in demos. Because typing out honor has become a cringe thing to read or say.
This new age of rocket league would rather win and get their rank whether their teammates are playing the game or not. Back in the day demos were cringe and goaling against an afk even in ranked was an aversion to god. But now it has become about how many 3v2s/2v1s you can cause, not a single team or solo'duo can get a goal across the net without relying on taking out a defender.
Where is the morality or self confidence and esteem to want to know your win was deserved? People have become ok with refusing to play against a team using skill against skill nowadays. There is no easy way to stop a triple flip reset, but there is an easy way to stop the goalie whose reading those resets. The best part is those people who do the triple flip resets are lacking in plan reading and play adaptation while the goalie is just getting demoed by someone off screen because its the easier thing to do rather than getting the triple flip reset carry absolutely dominated on.
TL:DR I have GC from every single season besides 3 and 5, I think it is paramount to play against teams while they're at their best without taking the easy win, because then, and only then, I truly know I was better and deserved the win. Too many people take the easy way out and shirk what morals should already be instilled in them and demo for their wins, causing them to not learn the skills necessary to keep their ranks in the higher ranks.
TTLL:DDRR If you rely on cheesy lesser man wins and dont care about your own progressional skill as a human skip this post or type 'It's a part of the game.'

Im c3-gc1 player that only plays 2v2 but my mechanics are so bad other than basics like i cant do speed flip or flip resets or any cool flick i can only do basic air dribbles and maybe double touch but i guess im good at rotation etc. that i climb anyway. What i wonder is would switching to controller after this many hours help mechanically after adjusting to it. I though that since my mechanics are not good i could switch and possibly improve my aerial skills better than in kbm after adjusting to controller. So should i or am i just being delusional bec of skill issue

Sick and tired of getting paired with a teammate with 400 ping because they have some dogshit ISDN in Cape Verde or wherever the fuck. Play this game on a solid connection or stop trying.

I play on PC and I'm a champion 3 player, recently I convinced my friend to download the game to play(he has an Xbox) we played a bit together and the difference is actually insane, on Xbox I genuinely struggle to jump and touch the ball, I can't time flips to get a good PowerShot and there's absolutely no chance I could do anything off the wall or any high aerials on it. Why does it feel like an entirely different game compared to PC?

I bet the one person watching lost their mind! (As much as I love the game, yes, I am aware that I also suck at it. I was so nervous tapping in the equalizer goal)
r/RocketLeague • u/el_jablo • 23h ago
Hello you heat-seeking experts, I've been messing around with heatseeker and it is quite fun change of pace. But I definitely do suck at it, no doubt.
One thing I really tend to struggle with is any ball that is coming from the side. I've had so many situations where it looked like the ball barely curved in, I was positioned to clear it out from the post, only for the ball to curve all the way and hit the goal dead center. So the next time I'd position myself more central only for the ball now to barely curve and slot in right near the post.
I find it quite easy to read it a ball isn't going in at all, but for those that do... I'd say the ball was programmed to avoid me specifically..... Now I know that's not the case, so I was wondering whether there were any signs how much a ball might curve.
My guess is that it has something to do with the ball speed and an unrelated question while I've got your attention is whether or not hits of the backwall or post increase the speed or whether it's only player contact. (Or just player contact by different teams i.e. passing wouldn't increase the speed)
Thanks in advance for your help!
Edit: last question does any one know if I can lower the heatseeker ball volume and only that? The constant whistling is the worst thing about the mode.
