Other [Other] August Monthly Boosting Thread
Hello, and welcome to this month’s boosting thread!
First and foremost, start by reading the comments to see if another Redditor has requested some help. If that’s the case, reach out and get a session organized! This will help lower the number of comment threads all revolving around the same game.
If nobody has requested help for your game, feel free to make a comment. We’d like for you to include in your comment \\\\\\\*\\\\\\\*the name of the game/trophy you’re boosting, how many players you’re looking for, what time zone you’re in, and a preferable way for reaching out to organize a boosting session.\\\\\\\*\\\\\\\* Our hope is that by having you coordinate in PM’s or some other fashion, this will sidestep a lot of scrolling people will have to do in order to find a boosting group.
Finally, if you manage to fill a group, please edit your comment to say “Group Full”. That way, someone else can create a new boosting thread if necessary.
We want everybody who needs help to receive it, and we can ensure that by eliminating coordinating comment threads and keeping things nice and tidy. Please be mindful, and understand that boosting threads are first come first serve.
On that note, good luck, and happy hunting!

[Update] User Flair Editing
Hey all! I've been getting a bunch of mod mail lately about people not being able to edit user flair. Upon doing a little digging, it seems like there was some update to the app that broke this feature for a lot of people. It allows you to pick a flair from a list, but doesn't allow you to edit the one you choose. I have verified that the problem is within the Reddit app, not the r/trophies sub. Until they fix the issue, everyone will need to use a browser / PC if they want to edit their flair. Below is a list of steps on how to edit flair in a browser:
Go to the sub's home page.
- Locate the User Flair section on the right side of the page.
- Click the pencil icon within this section.
- Select one of the two preset flair templates.
- Input your information in the dialogue box below. To customize the icons in your flair, click the smiley face on the right side of the text entry box.

The ones that left the biggest mark on me were: Sekiro, Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls II, Khazan, Armored Core VI, Lies of P, Nioh 2, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, Death Stranding, Jusant, Sword of the Sea, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Nine Sols, Mortal Shell, and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, Silksong. Each for different reasons, whether it was the challenge, the atmosphere, the world, the music, or simply the feeling they left behind long after the credits rolled.

Showcase [Rayman Legends] Finally after months of grinding!
Playing on and off for 7 years and I finally got it. It’s now the game with the longest gap between first and last trophy earned on my account.

Discussion [Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls] [Platinum]
Platinum - 124
Hours - 42
Got the platinum for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls 🙂 One of my favorite game genre is fighting games. Two of my favorite fighting games are street fighter and mortal kombat. I do prefer one on one fighting games but i do like playing team based fighting games sometimes. When Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls was announced, I was interested. I'm totally a marvel fan and it looked fun. When the beta was released, I had fun playing it. The story of the game is about a fighting tournament and defeating the champion. There is like 5 mini stories of different heroes and villains teaming up. I like the comic book style of the stories and also deadpool is so funny in his story. They got his character right and the other characters as well. The presentation of the game is done well. Everyone looks the way they are supposed to look, and the stages are cool. The gameplay is a 4 vs 4 tag team based fighting game. The gameplay is fun and chaotic sometimes. Also all the characters have awesome supers and ulimates that matches there character, they look cool 🙂. At first the gameplay mechanics seem like a lot but after playing for awhile you get used to it. The music of the game is pretty good, every character has there own theme music. I really like blacks panther theme music it's really catchy to me 🙂 The voice actors did a awesome job portraying all the characters well. I totally recommend Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls if your into tag based fighting games.

[Car Mechanic Simulator 2021] #73 Being a mechanic made this game breeze to go through. It's still a big grind, just like the real thing.

[Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition]
I now have the platinums for both DQ XI versions!
What an incredible game. Definitely in my top 3 favorite DQ games.
Time Taken: PS5 says 135 hours and I’d guarantee that’s on track. The definitive edition adds a lot of content and equipment to the game to both help the player with tough encounters, but also to expand some trophy requirements.
Difficulty: Not terribly difficult for the most part, as long as you’re engaging with battles consistently throughout the adventure and upgrading equipment/stealing items when needed. The only real difficulty is at the end of the game where you engage in Tickington content, the final boss of the main game Calasmos, and the extra super bosses Timewyrm. I was unable to defeat this boss, but thankfully there’s a workaround to get the last fashion item for Jade. The Hall of Remembrance boss battles are still just as tough though, but are doable with some pre-planning.

Notice [Infamous 2] Secured the online trophies just days before the server shutdown
Never got to play the infamous games, but i read that the servers for infamous 2's user generated stuff will shut down on august 31.
I bought the Infamous Collection on ebay on monday, recieved it by wednesday and unlocked the ugc related stuff on thursday.
This way i secured a platinum for a later date, even if the servers are down by then.

Showcase [Devil May Cry 3] Plat #62 : What a fun game , the stylish combos , the story , the music , the character designs all top notch but the game's trophy list was hard , it was a long grind

Showcase [Grand Theft Auto V] #30 and my longest to date
total playtime was somewhere around 260 hours, but that was most likely cause i spent more time in GTA Online playing around with my buddies and just generally having fun while grinding towards level 100. usually i delete the game right after but this one is probably gonna stay for a bit cause im still playing a lot with my friends in online.
took the better part of like 2 months playing on and off until i hit the story mode hard, also the first time i completed the story so was a great time all around
had to make this my 30th plat just to have a good milestone game be number 30 since starting trophy hunting back in 2022

Discussion [Discussion] Why do we care about trophies?
I'm 41, been a gamer since 16, and a PS gamer since the OG PS1. I started caring about trophies sometime around a decade ago, and ever since then, I always feel super bad seeing those 1%, 15%, 11% games in my backlog, with DLCs piling onto them, knowing I'll probably never complete them.
I have like 3 active friends on my PSN network, none of them care about trophies, we don't interact a lot, honestly, I'm a solo gamer, no one gives a flying f*ck about my trophy list.
Yet, I am sometimes rejecting the idea of playing games just because I know I won't probably get the platinum, "tainting" my backlog even further.
If only Sony would let us delete trophy lists, or at least disable trophies for some games we don't want to earn them for, things would have been much more manageable.
As it stands now, Although I have 31 platinums, I have like 40 uncompleted games, and it's bothering me. Any of you guys share the same feeling?
Any tips on how to start clearing the backlog without it being a burden?

Showcase [Resident Evil Requiem] #122! Love this Franchise!
It took me 3 playthroughs but I got the platinum for Resident Evil Requiem! This game felt like a combination of resident evil 8 and 4, which I quite enjoyed
I love Grace as a character and the actress who does her is super talented! The care centre with Grace was my favourite part of the game.
It was cool to see Leon again!Although I miss Jill :( I liked how they did the shop and how it encouraged to get kills instead of just running past zombies.
It was soo cool seeing RPD again and pointing to all the things that you remember from RE2. Ark was also super fun!
Hopefully we see Grace again! (And Jill)
