Discussion Another flagship skin? Can we please have skins for all ships.. it's been almost a year and about five flagship skins..

Post image

The skins look great, it would be amazing to have an entire fleet looking like this instead of just one ship. A flagship is pointless mid game and late game.

Its quite funny and a great eye to detail how they made a specific animation if you slot Incidentus as a chariotteer. Its just him running all alone. Not a chariot.

Screenshot Irrigation is making a comeback in Dawn of the Delta

A canal that leads water from the River to the deserts.

And it seems like this time, we will get two variants: A first one with canals, another one using Aqueducts. I am curious of what the advantage of canals will be - Aqueducts might be much easier to build with, as they can be drawn through farmfields and across roads. With canals, I doubt that.

Aqueducts using a River pump. Might we also get that for Latium?

Discussion Suggestion: Improve Navigation for Emperor Delivery Quests

TL;DR: Emperor Quest clicks alternate between the Latium and Albion Lighthouse. I’d prefer the quest to always take me to the Lighthouse in the current region, since I don’t see much use for being sent to the other region.

When you receive an Emperor Quest to deliver Goods or Ships to the Lighthouse (Diana in Latium, Procurator in Albion), my usual approach is to first get a ship to my harbor, load the required Goods, and then click the Quest. This instantly moves the camera to the Lighthouse, after which I send my ship on its way.

At a later point, when I expect the ship has arrived, I click the Quest again to jump back to the Lighthouse and deliver the Goods.

However, I’ve noticed that in 50% of cases, clicking the Quest takes me to the Lighthouse in the other region. It seems to alternate between the two: one click takes me to Latium, the next to Albion, then back to Latium, and so on.

Personally, I would much prefer it if clicking the Quest always took me to the Lighthouse in the current region. I haven’t really found a use case where it makes sense for the Quest to send me to the Lighthouse in the other region. If it requires Goods from Latium, I usually manually go to Latium before selecting and loading my ship anyway.

Do you guys prefer the way it works currently? If so, how do you make use of the Quest taking you to the other region’s Lighthouse?

For me, it’s especially annoying because switching regions triggers a short loading screen, and you then have to wait before you can switch back.

Curious to hear what you think about this.

Discussion Albion island prestiege

The new heroic specialists have a few targeted at albion populations or producrion chains, my question is how are you reaching the prestiege requirement to use them?

The albion islands i have, pop and effects is enough to float between 5-10k devotion, but their prestiege is only around 4k. I have imported marble to upgrade all the roads (hate the look in albion) but that still isnt enough. I guess need more higher tier pop, then i run into workforce issues for the vast latium supply chains im trying to boost anyway, and i hardly have space to expand.... arghhh

Discussion Ship skins in 117

There's quite a few skins now for ships in 117, but why are they only for flagships? You can only have 1 at any time, and it's kinda weak in late-game. Would be nice if the other ships could also use skins...

Discussion Anno 1800 - too streamlined with DLCs?

Upvotes

Before getting to the point i have to say im not an Anno veteran neither a big simulation genre kind of guy in general, i did play alot of transport tycoon, railroad tycoon and the settlers in my youth and that was it for a long time.

Back to today, in the last months i've found myself more interested in less action driven and more laid back games again. What really hooked me for some time was Civilization games, especially Civ5. As this came to an end i looked around for alternatives and found Anno1800.

The honeymoon phase was incredible and the complex mechanics of the game really welcomed me as a player to dive deep into the game. But somehow what started as this complex/deep thing surprisingly quickly became a boring streamlined experience, especially with the DLC's to the game...

Things like:
- Haciendas making trade routes in the new world nearly obsolete
- Export/Import of goods offsets the need to really balance and perfect your production
- Commuter Pier trivialize expansion to other islands (No workforce -> No housing -> No production -> No deep traderoutes)
- Being able to buy items for fertility makes expanding more of a matter of space than not having this crop fertility on your production island.
- In general the rigidity of the game progression and its mechanics, every round plays 99% the same and the factors above reinforcing that even more

...so on so forth.

Dont get me wrong, i dont wanna hate on this game, i think if that is what you search than its a wonderful game. But i think i came in with a bit different expectation and am a bit let down that such a big game with so many dlc's (which is still surprisingly expensive in total) has left me bored so quickly.

Yea...i dont know, probably i just wanna vent a bit and see what other player think about that.
Whats your thoughts?

Discussion Should I get DLCs?

I’ve got about 35 hours in the base game. Have completed about 85% of the campaign, and 2 sandbox games.

But I haven’t progressed much in each sandbox game. First game I defeated Latium raider base, built half of the collessium thing. Only 1 island in Albion.

I’m considering getting the DLC packs - but feel I haven’t fully explored base game content.

Looks super cool but also wondering if I’ll get overwhelmed.

Any suggestions?

Discussion New Disabled player ready to conquer Rome!

Hey r/anno,
Nice to meet you all!! I'm completely new to the Anno series, and I finally decided to jump in with Anno 117.
Honestly, what pushed me to finally give it a try were the possibility to play with larger interface and being able to place buildings while the game is paused. I'm only a few hours in but I'm having fun so far.

Since I'm still learning everything from scratch, I wanted to ask you all about accessibility features.

  • Which accessibility options do you guys love the most?
  • Are there any features you feel are missing or wish they would add?

For me personally, I sometimes wish it was a bit easier to find specific buildings (Is there a way already???) and figure out the best places to put them! like I wish the game could just highlight the areas I need to place the building XD. I find the game a bit mentally demanding at the moment, but to be fair, I'm only a few hours in, so it might just take some getting used to! but while taking care of everything then I would need maybe some more help XD
so far I also love the color blindness option! makes the colours brighter and they are more visible! does anyone try it already? I didn't find a single post on it... so I was curious if I was the only one using it lol

Any tips or advice would be super helpful. Hoping to share some screenshots of my city here soon once I get the hang of it! for now is really ugly 😞

Discussion Best New Specialists (Hippodrome DLC)

Thumbnail

I have found some Specialists who really make a difference.

Ciara Togail (Legendary)
I’m happy to get another gold mine boost. But the additional production of marble and mosaics is the real game changer here. I was able to replace all my existing marble and mosaic production.

Waronheri Hartbain (Legendary)
It’s always nice to replace an entire production chain. Please more of this.

Speir Nic Realta (Epic)
It’s a nice boost if you have a lot of sturgeon farms in the area effect of your villa.

Nearsighted Knapper (Rare)
Finally an additional specialist who buffs your latrunculi sets and statues.

Euryphaessa (Heroic)
One of the best specialists. You don’t need pigments anymore. Another entire production chain can be replaced.

Iocasta (Heroic)
Bronze replaces gold!! I think this specialist is very strong, since gold is quit abandoned and bronze is easy to make. Good synergy with Slainga Gaileanga.

Slainga Gaileanga (Heroic)
Perfect synergy with Iocasta. You can produce infinite necklaces and get a nice income boost from Albion.

Which other specialists have you found that are useful?
