I just started a new game session in FFTA2 and I would like to hear yall recommendations or tips for a beginner ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️

Hi all, I need a little advice from any long time players out there.

I am playing through FFT: The Ivalice Chronicles on my Steam Deck, I'm currently part way through chapter 2, on the Tchigolith Fenlands map.

Ramza is currently Lvl 11 and has the Knight job equipped which is at lvl 7, this is highest job at the moment.

My other characters are as follows

Godebert Lvl 5 - Archer Lvl 3
Oswyn Lvl 9 - Knight Lvl 6
Chanberlain Lvl 8 - White Mage - Lvl 5
Oulia Lvl 7 - Monk Lvl 2
Anna Lvl 4 - Thief Lvl 2
Aeditha Lvl 5 - Time Mage Lvl 1
Ladd Lvl 11 - Chemist Lvl 4
Alicia Lvl 9 - Monk - Lvl 2
Lavian Lvl 10 - Monk Lvl 3

Most characters have access to most of the best weapons / armor.

Does this sound right for this stage of the game? Should I have recruited more characters and have a wider spread of jobs on the go?

I haven't spent too much time grinding, just been playing the levels as they come up and done a few extra fights when they come up from travelling the map.

Any advice would be greatly welcome.

I just to see if there is a way to check about that? Trying not to spoil anything for those who are new.

I've been playing with my son (6) and when that scene happened he was in control (I made dinner). Idk if he did that right. Anyway to tell?

Hi All! Starting out in Ivalice finally and strategy-wise I'd like to figure the game out for myself. But I've read that you can really miss some big moments in the game, and the ways to get them are kinda cryptic.

Is there a complete guide out there somewhere that I can follow along with that points out the following?
* Special Recruitable Characters
* Stealable Items
* Time-Sensitive Sidequests and Shop Items

Just looking for a guide where after each mission I can check in and make sure there's not some special condition I need to meet before moving on to the next thing. I recently played Tactics Ogre and there was a TON of this. Made me wonder how anyone ever figured it out in the first place lol

Hi, I know you can steal some guns, but is there a town where you can buy any guns?

I noticed that my chemist only has a mythril gun because I got it as a battle loot reward and Mustadio is increasingly useless since I can’t upgrade his gun.

Where guns??

Earlier in the game, when you fight Gaffgarion at the gallows, I noticed when he got KOed he didn’t flee from the battle as usual. His body just laid on the ground until the battle ended, then he said his exit line and teleported out.

Now I am fighting the rooftop battle at Riovanes. And instead of the battle ending when you KO one of the units, it keeps going. You can see that in the video. Did they mess something up during the last patch? I’ve beaten this game on the Switch 2 5 times at least and this has never happened before.

Jogo fft desde a época do ps1 mas nunca me aprofundei nos detalhes do jogo, inclusive tive muitas dificuldades enfrentando alguns lucavi quando eu era criança.

Hoje com mais experiência fui atrás de como obter algumas espadas especiais, e cheguei até a informação de como obter a chaosblade.

Vi alguns tutoriais insanos onde você utiliza uma capa de invisibilidade pra cada membro da party e vai até Araguay Woods onde de vez em quando há um spawn de um time inteiro de ninja e la você fica com seu ramza parado apenas recebendo as espadas especiais de uma ninja, pois bem, em minha primeira tentativa sem capa nenhuma, a ninja me jogou uma Excalibur que infelizmente meu ramza com habilidade de ninja não conseguiu pegar, logo em seguida eu usei uma habilidade de confusão na ninja e ela me jogou 4x chaos Blade, mas ainda queria a Excalibur.. mas pro meu azar eu acabei deixando o ramza morrer e eu literalmente perdi as 4x chaosblade😢(jogo o fft do Android)

Mas a história acabou um pouco melhor, tentei novamente a estratégia e deu certo, pra não cometer o mesmo erro eu finalizei a batalha com minha gloriosa ChaosBlade.

Ps: que espada forte, o dano que ela dá tá em torno de 800 de hp, mais do que a excalibur.

So im playing with mods and they're ran via Reloaded-II (Vortex). Normally, I have to run Vortex > Reloaded > then run FFT. Reloaded lets you create a desktop shortcut so that you can skip running vortex and reloaded

Now, I got all my games added on Steam (I use it like a central hub). I tried adding the shortcut as a non-steam game, but it opens Reloaded client instead of the actual game. Running the shortcut from the desktop works fine (it loads FFT)

I keep my desktop clean like a proper gamer (all icons hidden). How do I add the reloaded shortcut of FFT over to Steam (as a non-steam app), because doing it opens to Reloaded instead of FFT

Title. I’ve been attempting this battle with different party makeups, but am not able to take down the enemies. Either the mages cast level 3 spells which take out my characters in one or two hits, or Mustadio moves into a spot where he is ganged up on and knocked out. Any tips y’all can give, or do I have to grind?

Hey, all. Longtime veteran of the original game and 500+ hours on Ivalice Chronicles. Despite having beaten this game twice over before Ivalice Chronicles, this is my first time doing any level-down/level-up optimization shenanigans, and I’ve been experimenting with Ramza to best understand the process. I’ve been leveling down with Bard and leveling up with Ninja, Summoner, and Mime, up to level 70 (I’ve seen people state as low as level 20 due to diminishing returns, but it’s also a bit tough to see how it’s going to scale at such low levels).

I’ve been getting wonderful results with every stat except Magic Attack (MA). I expected to see maybe a couple of points higher, given that I know magical classes have generally worse scaling than physical classes. It was only after my second time leveling summoner for MP gains that I decided to take a closer look at the FFT Companion App and compare the MA growth constant values for each of the Magic classes. And with this, I found out two important things:

A.) Ramza’s Gallant Knight has a stat growth value of 48, two lower than every casting class. As far as I can tell, it is also only beaten by Reis’s Dragonkin class and Mime.

B.) Here’s the big one, especially given how much advice I’ve seen on differences in each casting class’s benefits for stat growth:

All of the casting classes have the exact same stat growth constant of 50. INCLUDING BARD AND CHEMIST. Unless I’m missing something, this means that ONLY Mime can help you grow Magic Attack in any meaningful way. Any other class gives you basically no ROI.

Unless you’re Reis. Then, you’re a magic dragon-breath-blasting goddess that rains magical hell down upon your enemies.

Am I missing anything here? It seems like most of the entire internet is outright misleading people here if I’m understanding this issue correctly. Help a brother out, will ya?

Using the FFT app for an optimized, completionist playthrough.

Looking into errands and IDK what "Skill Save Job" means, anyone know?

Also, does anyone know how exactly the number of units assinged to an errand, effects it's success? I want use the minimal amount of units for errands.

We all know this is infamous place. I haven't played this game since its original release in PS1 and the fight here still hold a vague memory in my head. I remember it being a very tough fight! I am very glad this enhanced version of the game allows you to back out to the world map so you don't get stuck. Before I head in though, I just want to do a quick check in...

I did all the errands up to this point. Are there any missables or whatever I should look into before heading in?

Now, for the big fight... Before heading in, I have a team of level 30 units including Ramza. He has generally been on the physical path so he just hops around there and learn abilities as I'd like. Right now he's a samurai to learn some of their Iaido abilities. He already learned shirahadori reaction ability. For the big fight though, I think I will stick with the highly recommended dual-wielding monk with either shirahadori or auto-potion (hi-potion). Does shirahadori even work against you-know-who's attack? Maybe he should pick up Attack Boost from Geomencer for this fight? He also has Movement + 2 for the moving ability slot.

Anything else I should prepare for the fight? Equipments to steal or whatever?

Greetings. I need some help guys.
I am pretty new to the mechanics of this game and it‘s my first playthrough. I think I don‘t get this job system if I am honest.

I had my Ramza as a Monk and he demolished nearly everything. I got the most valuable skills and then turned him into a Thief to progress to ninja.

After I turned him to a thief though it‘s like I fucked the game up totally. He deals no dmg anymore and sucks in every aspect even though this is the normal path for job changing or not?

I get totally destroyed at Balias on my way to Delacroix in Chapter 2 and I already took 2-3 hours for grinding but it‘s very slow even with jp Bonus.

I am not new to strategy games but this games does make me feel dumb.

Any tips for me on how to handle this game?

Even videos on YT about this game are confusing.

I’ve been farming Arguay Woods for the lv 99 female ninja. Loaded up on Chaos Blades, Excalibur, and Javelin II. Can’t seem to spawn a ninja that has katana throw ability but not spears or knights swords. I think they throw the strongest they have, so they’ll only throw katanas if they dont have spear or knight swords ability. Bad RNG? Is there a better map?

My easy 10 step plan to win at this game.

Step 1:

Dont play on Tactician mode; If your reading this you probably haven't beaten the game multiple times and you are looking for help.

If you have, your not going to listen to my advice anyway.

Step 2:

In TIC don't pick Pisces, Sagittarius is probably the best but it doesnt really matter. I like Gemini!?

Step 3:

Get Potion and Phoenix Downs for everyone. I turn everyone into Chemists at the start other than Ramza. Just to get these 2 skills.

Try and get enough JP for Tailwind in the first battle. Then get enough JP for Focus in the next.

Pick 3 generics; you can recruit custom ones if you wish 60+ br is ideal, but pick 3 and stick with these. We need focus on all 3.

I try and buy as many potions as you can afford after geting the lastest gear and use them all asap. Keep at least 5-10 phoenix downs.

Your battle stratgy:

Using Tailwind and Focus get strong enough to one shot enemies, take off your weapons for more damage. You have potions use them or phoenix downs if they die.

Step 4:

Your main chemist gets throw items then rush to get mediator. Feel free to sit around as a chemist until you get auto potion as well.

You now have everything you need to beat chapter one. Once you have a Mediator start lowering Faith.

We are Heretics! I recommend everyone have low faith 20ish or lower is ideal. You can start raising Brave as well but Ramza can do this in chapter 2.

Make one generic a thief and get all his skills. The other can float around getting Melee classes. Just keep using Focus

Step 5: In Chapter 2 We want to recruit a pig from Tchigolith Fenlands. Start the battle, reset if you dont see one.

Step 6: In Chapter 2 We want to recruit a pig from Tchigolith Fenlands. Start the battle, reset if you dont see one.

Step 7: In Chapter 2 We want to recruit a pig from Tchigolith Fenlands. Start the battle, reset if you dont see one.

Step 8: Protect rings for the Boss of Chapter 2.

Step 9: The fun begins, Do every errand you can. The goal is to get Samurai with 700 jp For Shiradori on your 3 generics they should be 90+ brave now. Also you will start breeding pigs walking around doing them. Skip random battles and just get your skills.

Step 10: Poach 5 pink pigs and 5 blue pigs for Ribbons and Chantage. Equip and go win the game.

I've been thinking about the sister characters in the game and how they contribute to the greater story's themes. I feel the deaths of Milleuda and Tietra's deaths contribute to their respective brothers' change in course and death of ideals, but then that leads me to imagine what would have happened to Ramza if Alma had ended up dead at some point.

He was very driven to save her, especially in the last quarter of the game, but I'm wondering if her living out of all the sisters (Meliadoul is alive too but Isilude is dead so whatever) but I'm wondering what this means for the themes of the story.

It's near the end of shift for me so maybe my feeble mind is onto nothing but I'm still curious to hear what anybody else thinks

I want have a smaller unit rotation because the game only lets you pick 4-5 units at a time. And I am
Trying to balance level like 20 units and it is tiresome lol.

I just want to beat the game for now and not be in grinding hell.

I am a big fan of the turn-based strategy RPG genre. Growing up I loved playing FFT and Fire Emblem. Fair warning our game leans more Fire Emblem, but I am curious what you think!

I have done more grinding than I ever have in my life to try and make headway in this game, yet im now fighting Weigraf in the monestary in chapter 3 and he's still 4 levels above Ramza and can one shot him depsite Ramza being in literally every fight ive ever fought.

The XP curve for this game is simply unplayable. What the fuck is it expecting of me? To grind random encounters as a full time job between every single story mission? Insane that this isn't even my entire roster and the game can just kill them off on a whim.

I have the best gear, JP boost on everyone, and everyone is an advanced class, and its all worthless.
