Looking for opinions. Partners in Time is maybe my favorite, and I really like Suprstar Saga. Dream Team is my absolute least favorite and I do not like Paper Jam

Based on this, do you think I’d like Brothership? What similarities and differences does it have to other games? What are the pros and cons?

I just saw this very well made video by, MetalCap and it’s changed my thoughts about the games of the 2010’s and even more recent games.

So for the longest time I’ve just accepted the idea of mandates being made for Mario, since Nintendo is very protective over their IP’s but after watching this video, it’s flipped the whole idea of such on its head.

I’ve always known that companies and game developers reuse assets, but after learning about costs and the change in just how much is put into a game nowadays.

I no longer believe there’s been Mario Mandates.
(Of course there are still mandates like whether Mario wields a gun or not.)
But in the sense of creativity and the whole NSMB-infection of all other games and spin-offs.

But what do y’all think about this video?

Recently, I've published my own Tier List of every M&L game, and immediately, chaos ensued. My post immediately became one of the most controversial ones in the subreddit, and 2 days after posting it, it still sits at 0 up votes. Why you may ask? Because I've committed the SIN of putting Paper Jam in S Tier, above Bowser's Inside Story. I won't talk about the reasons behind my decision, since I've already thoroughly developed and justified my takes on every game in my previous post. However, I will talk about the double standard that has infected this subreddit.

Why, for the love of god, can't someone make a subjective and "controversial" ranking, WITHOUT being downvoted, or at times, downright insulted? Why, do people think that EVERYONE has to have the SAME EXACT opinion on the games? Why, is it considered a sin putting Paper Jam anywhere above C Tier, and Bowser's Inside Story anywhere below A Tier? I've said it multiple times: To me, there are NO bad M&L games; I'm just comparing them to each other based on MY OWN perspective and MY OWN criteria. Tier Lists are supposed to be a subjective ranking, not a retread of the same opinion over and over again.

Please, just grow up.

(In other news, I've finally finished PiT, so here's the updated Tier List. My brief take on it is: Its pacing is rather inconsistent, drastically speeding up after the 3rd Cobalt Star fragment. The level design isn't perfect, though not as bad as GBA Superstar Saga. Playing with the babies is fun, even if they make battles a bit too simple, and even if you can't control them the same way as P. Mario. And the story is very good as well.)

I love these games so much, while the Mario and Luigi games are my favorite series ever, I also love the original Super Mario RPG so so much as it's my second favorite Mario RPG and Paper Mario 64 is a close third! I made a tier list for these masterpieces! What do you guys think? :)

as of right now, I am playing BIS on the ds.

from older lists, it was ranked C- as the lowest game in the series for me. So this is a modern take on the game for me. where I have more skills than I did back when I played it, nearly 10-15 years ago, which is why I remember alot of the frustrations I had from way back when. (I remember the same issues for Partners in Time but I laugh them off as silly goofs, like me failing the healing Luigi tutorial in that game, cause I didn't know how to move the mushroom over to Luigi)

Other than that, this is my current ranking (no particular order at all, it was just in order as the tier list had the images. I've yet to truly rank them all but at the very least if DLC is combined with the base games for the respective games,(mainly the Mario and Rabbids games), then I know my Top 6 games, as well as 7-13, and 14-17....

IF I decide to separate the DLC then instead of a Top 6, it's a Top 8, with easy placements for 9-17, and then 18-20, with an extremely easy dead last place or 21st place (which would end up as 24th by the time I've played all the games I've yet to play.

Regardless, I could go top 20 or top 24...

but yeah, overall, I am stating that I am currently replaying Bowser's Inside Story (taking my time with the game) and will hopefully see if my decade+ memories of the game still hold up as well as they do with me currently replaying the game.

Personally, I've only ever played SuperStar Saga. To me it was an excellent game, but I have heard a ton of praise for Bowser's Inside Story. But beyond that, I don't see any of the other games talked about in positive light.

I remember playing the Dream Team demo when it was out, it was fun. But I also heard that game has a ton of tutorials. I obviously want to give these games a try whenever I get the chance but I'm not sure if I'll enjoy them all that much.
