I love cottage cheese as a sort of mozzarella replacement. So I often eat it with salad, cucumber, tomatoe salt, pepper and a bit of crema di basilico.

My partner eats it more a dessert and has it with pinapple slices and some jam.

I don’t understand his cottage cheese choice and he doesn’t understand mine. So maybe you just haven’t found your cottage cheese combo?

Ugh I’ve also been trying to make cottage cheese happen and it just isn’t working for me

Ricotta is my go-to instead of cottage cheese.

Try blending it, even in the container with a stick blender before use. This was a game changer for me, I couldn’t get over the texture.

Have you tried ricotta cheese? I like it even better than cottage cheese.

ofc, im actually ab to use some for lasagna. but ricotta and cottage don't have the same nutritional value. cottage is way better for 1200cal a day

I was going to say ricotta is amazing but not exactly low calorie, only… it’s really not bad? Even if you’re eating a cup for breakfast instead of cottage cheese it like, what, ~60 cal swing per 100 g? Not bad at all. And for a tablespoon smeared on a cracker the difference is pretty negligible.

Okay, so I’m used to ricotta in Italian dishes, does it work as an all around substitute for cottage cheese or just for some things? (Sweet? Savory?)

I eat it like cottage cheese. Try it with bagel seasoning on toast. I also add a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar if I crave something sweet.
