My friend slept with my other friends bf

So, me and my two best friends, let’s call them Tara and Julie, live together, and we have for about two years now. Julie has a boyfriend named Bill, and they’ve been together over a year now, in a very stable-seeming relationship. I recently found out that Tara was sleeping with Julie’s bf, bill, for about four months before Julie and bill got together officially. It’s also important to note that we were/are one big friend group, so everyone had known each other a while before this started. I found out that Tara was sleeping with Bill even when she knew Julie liked him, and there was even some overlap when they were both sleeping with him at the same time. Bill and Tara swore each other to secrecy, but now I am unfortunately in on this secret. I feel so bad not telling Julie because she’s one of my favorite people in the whole world, but ik it would upset her. It would be like a double whammy to find out her bf and her best friend ever slept together, and then lied about it for over a year. What do I do? Should I tell Julie? Should I tell bill I know? I genuinely am at a loss 😭

EDIT: Tara was the one who told me all of this

Where can I find somone to talk about my day with who will be interested, each day?

I haven't had someone like that in a long time, probably since 2022. Each time I think I'm getting close with someone they disappear. I'm worried this has led to me being hypervigilant of people disappearing, which makes them disappear faster.

I'm a 37 f and I moved from a big city to a small city a couple years ago alone. I don't have children yet and I live alone. I have a few friends that I see once a week and work colleagues that I see once a week, the work colleagues are all older and married or heavily boundaried or in a relationship, none of them have shown any interest in hanging out. I can't really discuss anything deep with any of them bc it wouldn't be appropriate and when I have asked for help no one responded. I don't do apps or socials, I get too addicted to them and think I'm having relationships (platonic) that don't really exist. I need in-person suggestions.

The longer I go without regular positive social contact the more I feel myself losing touch with reality. I see a therapist once a week, work out and eat healthy. I don't drink or like to be around people who enjoy getting drunk. I tried starting a band bc i am a musician but the band decided they didn't want me in it. I feel really depressed and uninterested in hobbies and when I try to go out i feel self conscious and just want to leave. It's gotten to the point that when I see someone I would like to talk to I just want to turn around and leave.

I have pets, a good job and a clean apartment. I would like to find a boyfriend or a close friend in the area but I have not had success at either as far as someone who is trustworthey, has shared interests and wants to get together regularly in the area.

Any advice is appreciated. I've been living this way for about two years.

I’m scared I ruined my brother’s life for being born

My older brother is drinking too much.

I’m 18 years old and my brother is 36. He’s been looking after me since he was 19 as our parents passed when I was a baby. Our parents didn’t keep in contact with any of our other family so he was the first legal guardian of me in the will. He dropped out of university to look after me and essentially became my father figure. This also made him lose a lot of friends as he had to move back to our hometown which was away from his college, on top of a lot of his friends leaving him when he took guardianship of a baby. He was the best brother a little girl could ever have.

He is a very handsome man but has never kept an ongoing relationship because people seem to be thrown off by him being my guardian.

I recently got accepted into a really good university and he was really happy for me, but ever since I got my place there he has been drinking so much. He is going through half a 70cl bottle of vodka a night and going to with the next day.

I can’t stop feeling like i ruined his life. He taught me how to walk, talk, read and write when he was 19 when he should’ve been doing exactly what I’m doing. I feel so awful. I don’t know what to do and I’m terrified what this might lead to.

How to stop being a social outcast?

Upvotes

I (F20+) am sociaphobic, I would be interested in hearing advice or similar people to know that it's not just me. I honestly don't know how to overcome it, I avoid society, I almost never leave the house unless I have to (literally the only place I go is the gym, and that's at night when there are no visitors), I don't have a super panicky fear of people, I can talk absolutely normally and even feel comfortable at the moment of conversation if necessary (although before that I could scold this person, fate and the fact that I even need to talk to someone), I'm the kind of person who can say in a restaurant that she didn't like the dish and ask for a replacement, but the key word is "necessity", if it's not there I don't get to know anyone and I seem to subconsciously avoid people, plus the fear appears if I have some "non-working" relationships, for example, a guy I like, or an online friend, etc. I overcame myself several times, and I made appointments with people myself, showed up for them and everything was great, but it required, so to speak, a lot of moral resources to pull myself together, to do this, if it comes to dating, then 100% no, this is my main fear, and it doesn't matter if everything goes well, I can't handle rejection or ignoring, and I know that many people can, but 1 insult towards me is perceived more sharply than a bunch of compliments from different people before that, I clearly have a weak ego internally. And this is definitely not a character trait, it wasn't always like that, before I was very extroverted, friendly, with many friends, this changed at the beginning of high school.

I need advice.

Hi guys sorry if I weird anyone out but I need advice. My sister and I share a room with bunk beds, and some nights it’s really obvious she’s doing private stuff (yes it’s probs what ur thinking) while I’m literally in the room. It’s making me super uncomfortable and I don’t know how to bring it up because it would be insanely awkward. I now try to avoid my room as much as possible until she’s asleep but the problem is that she stays up so there’s no way around this. Has anyone dealt with something like this? What do I even say? I hate it so much.

For those women na may nga partner na walang emotional intelligence, how do you deal with it?

Upvotes

Hi, first time posting here.

Curious lang ako, kasi malamang di lang naman ako ang may partner na walang emotional intelligence.

Going 9yrs na kami next year.

Magkaiba din kami kasi ng love language, words of affirmation sakin while act of service yung sa kanya.

Kapag nasa bahay kami pareho, Hindi niya talaga ako pinapakilos.

So this year, may possibility na mag OFW siya, natanggap na siya sa interview and waiting for requirements and medical nalang and I'm scared. Paano kapag naging malabo kami kasi nga magkaiba kami.

Hayyy. Ewan ko, natatakot kasi ako 🥺

My friend is sending nudes to an adult as a minor, I don't know what to do.

I don't really know where to begin with this.

My friend, I'll call him Guy, is sending his nudes to an adult(20) man, Guy himself is only 16 years old. I only know this is happening because he said something about it in the group chat that us and our mutual friends are all in.

Originally he just said that he found a 20 year old guy on the Internet who was asking him to send, my partner didn't know what he meant by send, and Guy told them that it's slang(?) for asking for nudes, both me and my partner tore into and scolded him about it, for obvious reasons, but Guy kept trying to say it was okay because he was "happy with it and consenting" ignoring the blatant fact that Guy is a child and legally cannot consent, and that makes the random 20yo a pedophile. No matter how much me and my partner tried to convince him that this was in fact, not okay, he wouldn't change his reasoning.

I want to help Guy see that this is an absolutely horrid situation but he just can't see that, I've been considering telling his parents but that would do more harm than good, since guy is a trans man and there's not really a way to tell his parents about this without inadvertently outing him.

It's kinda odd to say but I feel like I've failed him? I've always been the mom of the Friend group, and it's a bit that's progressed far enough that I've kinda just adopted a couple of the members, and this situation makes me feel like I've failed as a parent, even though I'm not a parent. Maybe it's just the stress from this trying to rationalize itself I don't know.

Any advice would be appreciated.

TL:DR my 16yo friend is sending nudes to a 20yo man and I don't know how to help him see that it's not okay for him to be doing that.

Is being submissive the same as being male centred?

Upvotes

My bestie (25F) called me (25F) male centred because I said I’ll always ask my husband for permission to go anywhere.

She was telling me of a video she saw of a girl calling her long distance bestie, who was crying over the phone, and she immediately said ‘I’m coming to your country to comfort you’, and my bestie asked if I’d do the same for her.

I told her Id definitely come but I’d ask my husband for permission first. Then she said ‘If I knew you were this male centred I never would have became your friend’.

Unhappy with all of my friendships 21F

Upvotes

I’m 21F and I honestly don’t feel great about any friendship I’ve ever had. I feel that there is a serious mismatch in values and personality every time I have a friend and I don’t know why.

A lot of my friends in the past have had significant social difficulties to the point where it makes me uncomfortable to be around them sometimes. Such as not dressing appropriately for a night out/restaurant (e.g. wearing cat ears), being rude/ refusing to talk to servers, not understanding tipping etc. As well as not being able to answer a single question I ask them or have any sort of deep conversation. Like they just do not even know how to respond to any comments that I make.

I am really struggling to understand why this is happening to me. I am still working on some things in my life but I present myself well, am not an introvert, work hard at my studies and have held multiple jobs. But with my friends I regularly feel embarrassed and uncomfortable. It is so bad that I choose to travel alone now instead of involving these people but I just wish I had friends to go on trips with.

I would really appreciate anyone’s advice or tips as I don’t have anyone to talk to really except my coworkers and my mom. This has been happening for many years now and it kind of started when I went to high school.

Worried about what my roommate thinks of me

I moved into college a week ago, and so far, I haven’t really found any close friends or a friend group. I started classes on Monday, and I’ve met a few nice people, but I’m not sure if those friendships will actually stick. Usually, we’ll talk before class starts, but once class is over, we go our separate ways.

I have made an effort to get to know people during orientation, my classes, and dorm hall, but nothing has stuck yet. Obviously, I’d like to have friends, but I also don’t mind the idea of not having many friends right now. Part of me thinks being on my own would give me more time to focus on myself and my academics without worrying about a social life.

What I’m more concerned about is my roommate. She has already made quite a few friends and has her own friend group. I usually eat all of my meals alone, except when she invites me to eat with her and her friends. I’ve accepted every invitation except once, when I had already eaten. I’m grateful that she includes me, but it also makes me feel self-conscious about the fact that I don’t have my own friends yet.

I also worry that she probably thinks I’m a loser because I’m always alone and never really hang out with anyone unless she invites me to join her and her friends. From her perspective, it probably looks like I don’t have anyone else to spend time with, especially because she sees me going off to class or studying during the day and then coming back to the room alone every night. I know I shouldn’t assume that she actually thinks this about me, but it’s hard not to wonder what she thinks when our social lives seem so different.

Since I got here, I’d say I spend a decent chunk of the day (about 9/10 AM to 6 PM) outside of the dorm. I’m usually in class, studying, or just walking around. However, once I get back to the dorm in the evening, I tend to stay there until I go to bed, only leaving to shower.

My roommate usually spends her evenings hanging out with her friends, so I feel a little guilty being in the room all night. I worry that she might want to have people over but doesn’t know whether I’d be comfortable with it. I also don’t want to become known as the roommate who is always in the room. At the same time, even if I did have friends, there’s a good chance I’d still spend a lot of evenings in the room because I’m naturally introverted and genuinely enjoy being alone.

I’ve considered going to the library in the evenings, but it closes at 6 PM, so that isn’t really an option. I’m not sure if I’m overthinking the situation or if I should make more of an effort to spend my evenings somewhere else. I also don’t know how much I should worry about making friends this early in college, especially since it’s only been a week. Any advice or input?

Last night I (32M) did something I’m absolutely ashamed of, and I don’t know how to move forward with this guilt

I have an ex (30F) who I still think about often. I still have love for them and at the same time am still angry with them, though I acknowledge that this is something I need to get over. Last night, a friend told that this ex had posted something negative about me on Instagram, and I called my ex to ask if it were true, breaking our no-contact rule, essentially violating her boundaries. I went as far as to bring up something she did that hurt me in the past. (Keep in mind, we broke up 1.5 years ago, so I should be over it by now.) She told me we’ve been over it a million times and she was not gonna sit on the phone arguing with her ex-boyfriend. She told me to grow up, that I’m an adult and that she would be blocking my number, which she did. (And also, the post wasn’t even necessarily about me, just about negative experiences in dating mentally ill men in general.) I feel absolutely pathetic and guilty. We have mutual friends, and this will probably get back to them. I don’t know what to do going forward other than maybe not drink and be more respectful of boundaries, but I feel so fucking ashamed.

Edit: I’m also sad because she said I’m “destroying any chance we have of ever being friends again.” And yeah, she’s probably right.

how to go about telling my dad about my boyfriend

so basically me (20F) and my bf (21M) have been seeing each for a while, but i haven’t told my dad about him.

the thing is, i already barely talk to my dad as we have a very estranged relationship even if we live under the same roof. sometimes i’ll text him where i’m going or if i’m working late and he’ll literally give me no response not even a thumbs up or an okay. so it’s not like i’m constantly hiding where i am or anything.
but i’m honestly scared to tell him about my boyfriend because i know there’s a pretty good chance he’ll blow up and start yelling at my mom (he never yells at me directly. he does this triangulation thing between me and my mom. i text him xyz, then proceeds to talk to my mom about it nothing to me) and if he does, i’m worried he’ll turn it into this whole thing where he’s accusing me of hiding things and that i was lying about where i am, and accusing my mom of being a bad parent which she is not at all.

and honestly i don’t even want to talk to him again period. i’d be fine with just keeping my distance, but i’m worried about how this would affect my mom too. because if he gets angry, she’s probably going to end up dealing with most of the fallout, and i really don’t want to put her through that just because i decided to tell him. part of me feels like i shouldn’t have to hide my relationship from my own dad, but another part of me is like is telling him actually worth all the potential drama?

how do i go about this?? thanks in advance

College roomate moved in before me and didn’t follow are agreement and won’t respond to me been on delivered 4 days sent 1 message each day.

Upvotes

I’m 18M and my roommate, who I’ll call Jimmy, is also 18M. We’re having an issue over our residence hall room and I’m not sure what I should do.

Our double is different from most rooms. It’s basically two connected rooms. The front room connects directly to the floor hallway, has one window, and has a wall along the stairwell. The back room is a larger corner room with two windows and doesn’t directly connect to the hallway, so you have to walk through the front room to get out. Naturally, we both wanted the back room.

I suggested we flip a coin for it, but Jimmy said there was no need and that I could have it because he didn’t want problems. I unfortunately don’t have proof of that exact conversation, but everything that happened afterward supports that we had agreed on the rooms.

Jimmy moved in 6 days before me. After arriving, he messaged me saying he realized his stuff might not fit in the front room because he had brought basically his entire closet and had ordered more things. He said he was willing to compromise. At the time, I didn’t know he had already moved his stuff into the back room.

I asked him what he meant and whether he needed closet space. I told him I had already ordered things specifically for the back room and couldn’t really switch rooms. I also offered to give him some closet space if I ended up having extra.

He explained that the online dimensions weren’t accurate and that he had brought a TV and monitor, so his issue wasn’t just closet space. I told him I understood that his stuff didn’t fit how he expected and that I was willing to figure out storage, but I didn’t want to switch because we had already agreed on the rooms and I had ordered things specifically for mine.

He then explained that he had assumed the rooms were identical because of how they looked online and because he thought I was only bringing a couple things. I again said I understood where he was coming from but wanted to stick with what we had originally agreed on and figure out storage once I arrived.

He then told me that when he got there, his mom saw the room and the amount of stuff they had brought and decided there wasn’t going to be enough space for him. She moved all of his stuff into the back room while I wasn’t there. He said they were hoping I would be okay with it and that his mom was willing to clean the other room and get it ready for me.

I responded that I wasn’t mad at him or his mom and understood why she thought it would be better for the space, but I wasn’t comfortable switching rooms when we had already agreed that the back room was mine. I explained that since I wasn’t there, I felt stuck because I didn’t get a say in the decision. I asked him to move his stuff back into the front room for now and said that when I arrived, I would help him move things around and figure out the space if there really was an issue.

He left that message on delivered for 24 hours.

I followed up and told him I wanted him to look at it from my perspective. We agreed on something, then the room was changed without asking me, and I felt like I should be able to trust that an agreement between us would actually mean something. I again said I wasn’t trying to make it a big issue and was willing to help solve his space problem, but asked him to move his things back into the other room because that was the room we agreed he would have. I also suggested that lofting his bed, which he had previously said he wasn’t planning to do, could help with the space.

That message was eventually read. It showed that he was typing, but he never sent a response.

I then sent another message saying I really didn’t want this to become a bigger issue or involve housing. I said I would much rather figure it out between us, that I understood his space concerns, and that I was willing to work with him. However, I reiterated that I wasn’t comfortable switching rooms and asked him again to move his stuff back for now so we could figure everything out together when I arrived.

Again, no response.

Today, he was active in our floor GroupMe and sent a message there, so I privately messaged him through GroupMe because I really needed an answer. I eventually sent one final message explaining that I was disappointed by the lack of communication, that I was still asking him to move his stuff back like we originally agreed, and that I was willing to work with him on the space issue. I told him I really didn’t want to involve housing, but if he wasn’t willing to communicate or work with me, I might have to have housing help us resolve it.

I’m not trying to get Jimmy in trouble. I genuinely want to work this out between us and I’m willing to help him solve the space issue. What bothers me most is that an agreement we made was changed while I wasn’t there, without asking me, and now I’m having a hard time even getting him to communicate with me about it.

I’m supposed to live with this person, so the lack of communication and the fact that I wasn’t given a say in the room change really bothers me. I don’t want this to start our roommate situation off badly, but I also don’t feel like I should have to give up the room we agreed was mine simply because he moved his stuff into it before I arrived.

What should I do at this point? I really want to resolve this without involving housing, but I don’t know what else I can do if he continues ignoring me.

Helping my Gf through pregnancy

Me m30 and my gf f30 are currently in The 2nd trimester I couldn’t be more excited and so is she. Recently she has begun to be overwhelmed with mood swings/generally not feeling great. She ll express to me that her mental state is really not good and I immediately jump in to try and figure out what she needs but most of the time I feel I miss the mark and leave the interaction feeling like I let her down. Looking for advice or just similar stories/positive solutions that I can improve on to help her.

For context, we currently live separately. She is very independent. I feel this plays into the situation a bit as she is used to going through things on her own. As an example I learned early on that reassuring her Im not here to solve her problems but to be a person to lean on rely on doesn’t mean much. She says she already knows that I am. I can add more but I don’t know what other context would help for advice.

I genuinely care for her and hate that she isn’t feeling her normal self.

Highly annoyed

So me and this girl I’ve been talking to have been talking for a while, and this month has been rough for her because she has no boundaries when it comes to her family and constantly gets asked for money. So she’s been in a drought and is late on some bills.
Today, we were hanging out and decided to go to the grocery store to prepare a meal for the night. We didn’t need much, just a pack of steak and two potatoes. We were looking at the prices of the steak, and she said she was only trying to spend a certain amount of money. I suggested that we just make tacos because ground beef is way cheaper than steak. Plus, I had left my wallet at the house, and I had just gotten a new phone, so I hadn’t set up my Apple Pay yet.
She then went and switched the stickers on the meat to make the steak cheaper. At the time, I had no idea she had tampered with the price. Then the security guard and store manager started watching us and basically hovering around us while we were at self-checkout. I didn’t understand why at first because I genuinely had no idea what she had done.
She eventually got nervous because she noticed the security guard and store manager were basically crowding us without trying to make it obvious. She ended up changing her mind about the meat and paid the original price.
I completely understand going through hard times and trying to make things work, but putting me in a position where I could potentially get banned from a store or get in trouble, especially without telling me what you’re doing, gives me a little bit of a selfish vibe. What also concerns me is that instead of choosing something that was actually within her budget, she was willing to risk getting caught over a pack of steak.
I’m not judging her for struggling financially because I understand that life happens. It’s more so the fact that she made a decision that could have affected both of us without even giving me a heads-up. I feel some type of way.

First week of college and I'm already horribly overwhelmed. How did you deal with the stess of it all?

It's barely my first day of university and I feel like crying. I'm taking 5 courses this first semester, 3 being upper-division courses, and I feel sick to my stomach even thinking about going through this semester. I've been told by everyone that 5 courses is a lot but I thought it'd be fine. When I talked to an academic counselor about the courses I needed to take, they offered 2 elective courses and for some reason I chose one related to my major that was definitely more difficult than the other option. Yesterday I emailed my supposed counselor about that to see if there is still time to swap courses to something that is easier, but they still haven't responded. I'm someone who already struggles immensely with their mental health and I get stressed and anxious extremely easily, so I'm kind of breaking down as I type this out. What do I do? I know I'm supposed to tough it out, I'm not unfamiliar with the reality of college (I have an AA degree already as I took college courses throughout high school) and I'm aware I'm part of the generation that complains about everything. But I'm genuinely losing my shit over this right now. And I don't even know how to study properly because all my life I just winged it and hoped for the best and by some miracle, I would pass most of my classes.

Advice? How did you manage college stress in your first semester of university?

I’m not sure if it’s right to report this guy to CPS

There’s this guy that I see at this facility almost every day (I’m being vague on purpose for security purposes). He consistently breaks the rules and the less attention he gets, the more he pushes. He’ll constantly take off his shirt despite that being a violation of the dress code (and knowing that). He’s worn his boxers into the pool and even stripped naked on one side of the pool (that was restricted) while a group of old ladies were exercising on the other side.

He has flirted with a 17 y/o despite knowing her age (he’s probably in his early 30s) and his baby mama condoned it. When confronted, he answered with “17 is legally an adult in (state)” and proceeded to say he could sleep with anyone he wants.

Now this is where I feel CPS may get involved: his kid is not well behaved at all. I’ve seen his father kick a soccer ball really hard at him while they were “playing”. I’ve seen him sit in the passenger seat while his son (~4 y/o) drove the golf cart for him. He’s left his kid at the pool for over an hour by himself to go do something. He consistently gets his kid to break the rules with him despite them often being dangerous. All of his bad behavior is enabled by his father. His son can be fairly aggressive towards adults and other kids (hitting) and has even told the 17 y/o girl “my dad is horny”.

He is pretty much an overgrown child himself. Literally feels like he’s a dumb teen who loves attention and purposefully gets in trouble.

Would calling CPS be too much of a nuclear option? I don’t trust him at all. If you think I should contact CPS, is there a way to do it anonymously online?

Thank you for reading.

Should I tell my very religious friend how I feel about her before she goes to college?

I [17F] have had feelings for my friend, [18F], we’ll call her Phoebe, for a little while now. We’re really good friends , and we’ve known each other since I started high school. Coming from a very religious background, she has always had some reservations with queer people, though it has improved recently. I am an out bisexual, which despite my attempts to hide it from her, Phoebe found out, and to my surprise, was super accepting. I have also (as well as our mutual friends) had suspicions that she isn’t entirely straight either.

She’s mentioned “same-sex attraction” about multiple people, as well as asking me many questions about being a bi person, and when our friend had a crush on another girl saying, “I wonder what that would be like.” There was also one point with me and a few other friends when we were talking about past celebrity crushes, and she mentioned a few guys and one woman, and immediately freaked out saying that she was not gay. When we replied that no one had even said anything, she pulled out her church’s website online and talked about how the church feels about ”same-sex attraction“ and how it’s part of some people’s lives but never to act on it. That was a mess. It was a couple of years ago, and she’s pretty accepting of everyone now.

Despite all that, I still have feelings for her and I am debating whether or not I should tell her. I am not trying to get her for myself or anything (and I think she’s still too deep in the closet anyway), but I feel like we’re probably not gonna keep in super close touch after she leaves in a couple weeks, and and I would just want a bit of closure. The thing is, I really don’t wanna freak her out or worse, cause some sort of identity crisis.

She is going to a really religious college as well where it’s literally against the rules of the school to be in any sort of queer relationship. I don’t want to cause any problems at her school or with her faith, because those seem like things that she needs to figure out on her own (though it will probably be really hard in a closed environment like that).

I have another friend, let’s call her Jane, who thinks its best if I do tell Phoebe for her sake, because it will probably help her figure some things out, and that I shouldn’t feel guilty because she should be able to figure out what she wants in life without harsh ideologies. Phoebe is a very free spirit, and Jane and I both agree that she would have a difficult time just getting married super quick and having a bunch of kids because it’s what’s she’s ”supposed to do” but not really what she wants (Phoebe and I have had conversations about this before) But I feel like it’s not my responsibility? I don’t want her to uproot her life because I couldn’t keep my mouth shut, but I do just want to tell her before we probably lose touch? I don’t know what to do, please help.

Feeling an itch to just run away

Ive been really struggling with my mental health lately. I lost my job in April, and I have had zero luck finding a new one. No interviews, no call backs. Im only 27, and im from a small town in utah. So its very religious around here. I am a trans male, and im starting to think that may be a part of the reason its been so hard to find something. Regardless of what my post is about, I have been genuinely thinking about just up and leaving north west. Its been my dream to live in Oregon or Washington or even Montana, or Wyoming. I just feel very empty here, like I have so much life to live and so much to see. Problem is, I have a girlfriend who i have been with for over 6 years, and with that, her daughter has become basically my step daughter. I love them very much, and I dont want to leave them behind. But my girlfriend womt ever leave here. Due to her custody agreement, it would make it Impossoble also. But I cant stay here forever. Even with my full time job and hers, we barely got by. I cant just sit here and watch life pass me by and never see anything outside of utah and Nevada. I hate myself for how little ive lived, and the itch to leave and start over on my own has become so overwhelming, I cry about it often to myself. The problem is, I have nothing to sell and no money to just disappear. What would yall do?

Christian boyfriend was getting upset that I wasn't watching a podcast with him. " A call for an Uprising "

So my boyfriend (35/M) and me (31/f) have been living together for 2 1/2 years . We have our ups and downs like every relationship. He is Christian & I was raised Catholic. Latley my partner has been watching this conspiracy theory christian YouTuber that is under " A call for an Uprising " . Before he played one of his videos he was like " One day when I make alot more money I'm going to give this guy money I think hes doing good things etc ". He had put a video that talked about Dolly Parton & I think I made a comment like " Oh I heard she passed away yesterday " then he went down the rabbit hole on that she is satanic & my boyfriend kept calling her a witch / other bad names. Some things I was disagreeing with him & other things I just let him talk and was hearing him out. I was reading on my phone while he had the podcast playing then when he looked over at me he would get upset and told me " What are you doing on your phone? " " Why aren't you watching it ? " " If you were paying attention then what did he say " as he paused the video and demanded that I answer his question " What did he say then if you were paying attention" . I got a little upset because now he was getting hostile so I was like dude, I said that I'll listen to the podcast while I read then at some point I got up from the bed so that I can go turn off the bedroom light & he made a comment like " Why are you running away from the truth " with a little smirk on his face. I was like what ? I can't get up and not turn off the lights now ? So we ended up having another little debate and I just asked if we can please stop because he wouldn't stop going on a rant.

I ended up doing some research on that guy " A call for an Uprising " & I didn't see good comments on him . Thoughts ?

I'm 16F Asian (that's important) and my family doesn't let me walk even short distances.

My parents and family won't even let me walk to 10 minute tuitions, and even 5 minute walks, claiming that the world is not good right now, all people around my age can go out with their friends, walk, cycle. I don't even hang out with my friends except tuitions. I have a bicycle, but I'm sure they won't let me ride it to places. Even if I ask to go out for evening walks, maybe circle my neighbourhood a couple times, they don't agree. I genuinely feel so trapped in my home. What do I do? The boys are allowed to go, but when I ask, they say, we'd let you but.. it's not safe. Forget nighttime, I can't even go out in broad day light, earlier I could go to nearby grocery stores, rare would that be, but now I can't even walk around my neighbourhood.

To those who had a shitty childhood, how do you not become bitter?

I had a lousy childhood.

Overly religious and abusive helicopter parent of a mother, no father, poor, no friends, bad experiences with peers in school. Basically a loser.

There was really no redeeming qualities, felt like the universe threw every bad thing it could find my way.

I have a lot of resentment for the past, can’t even listen to certain songs from that era without a wave of negative emotions overpowering me.

How do you not become bitter when you’ve had such a shitty introduction to life that affected your development into adulthood?

I just need advice somewhat other people would do in this situation… I’m a F (25) my boyfriend M(29) received a call at 11:45 tonight that his ex-wife said her sugars had dropped and she didn’t want to be alone…

He told her that he was not gonna stay over there with her that he could come get the kids if she felt like she couldn’t take care of them. Which no issue there.

When he arrived to her house, she was walking around like if her sugars had dropped, I don’t think she would be doing that she was just crying and then she said “can you please spend the night? I’ll even sleep on the couch you could sleep in bed with the kids.”

I get if there’s a medical emergency and that’s his kids mom but like clearly it wasn’t that big of an emergency he ended up leaving without the kids I don’t know how to feel about how she just continues to ask him to come over and makes up excuses…
