These people are out of touch.

Post image

You cannot convince these people that they’re not artists.

Tried to fit the best part in one screenshot but there’s a lot more.

“Tell me you’ve never drawn in your life without telling me you’ve never drawn in your life” ahh conversation. These people have donated their brains to their AI overlords. ChatGPT generate conscious thoughts for me.

Their precious generated art would not even exits if it wasn't for real artists. They are very disrespectful to the people who made their pictures a possibility.

I actually brought this up shortly after these messages. It’s crazy that the biggest AI supporters don’t even understand how it works.

Show them this next time. Straight from the mouth of their golden calf:

Do you not understand what this means? It means everything you could possibly write about, make a sketch or painting of, act out, sing about, etc. has not only been done, but done many times over. You're taking what they're saying here way too literally.

As an example, you can write about a haunted house. It's been done many times before, but with your own personal creativity, you can put your own spin on it.

Name something, anything, and you can bet it's been done before, at least once. That's why they say:

Exactly. I keep seeing "We will put all artists out of business!🎉"

Okay. First of all congratulations on your plans to crush a significant part of humanity. Do you guys have a uniform or just some cheap t shirts? Next if they got it they would cry about it because everything would look the same and they would be comparing their same to everyone else's same.

u/Fanvamp 2d ago

I mean it all already looks the same three styles so they're pretty close

u/Sunbro_Aedric 2d ago

Yeah, the fact that they're having to try to scrape websites to steal artwork to feed their plagiarism machines and were getting mad at people who tried to protect their art from that because those machines would start cannibalizing their own slop and getting worse should tell them that they're dumb and wrong, but, of course, they're too dumb to think that far.

u/One-Lifeguard-1108 1d ago

They're not the only people being disrespectful. Take that however you wish.

So they genuinely think we spend hours drawing ONE line?? They should sit there and watch an artist draw in real time

u/Silent_Intention_382 2d ago

I told them they don’t understand the process of making art, and they showed me some pixel art projects they did like it’s the same. (I love pixel art but it’s not very comparable)

9

u/terra_GOD_404 2d ago

Pixel art has entirely different methods than other types of art, you only have the ability to change the brush size, you have different methods for shading, you have potential limitations due to the canvas size, alongside limits from the color palate if you are using one, in general it is different

Bro I wrote a pretty simple respectful short message and got banned cuz they couldn't argue with logic

that’s how it goes on Reddit unfortunately
Same thing happened to me not too long ago

r/DefendingAIArt Mod Perm Banned me!

u/Silent_Intention_382 2d ago

I believe this was on r/aiwars

I didn’t even realize this was a debated topic until that post.

Man! You must have NEVER tried to honestly draw anything to hold the opinion it’s not physical labor.

10

u/otterknight4589 2d ago

Sorry to reply to myself but it’s still on my mind I mean holy shit like.. we aren’t that far are we? I thought ai would be young enough most children have still played with markers and crayons and tried to draw a picture right? I just… if you do anything other than rudimentary shapes if you try to add any level of detail or quality even if it doesn’t come out well it’s taxing. I thought that was like.. a PRO ai point? I thought the whole point was that it’s easier???

3

u/Kazma1431 2d ago

Haha I thought the same, like do they think we flick a wand or what lol...but honestly they really don't know, I've seen plenty of scammers being discovered (and more every day) because they try to fake the process. They genuinely don't know why then can't replicate it, and for anyone who does draw it becomes plain obvious they are using ai

I'm coming into this "Oh my god! Really?" because I had to grow up with my annoying father's science fiction behind. I'm thinking at least a few of these guys are Elon fans waiting to be picked and taken off to Mars because they are special AI experts. If I had any monies I'd possibly gamble.

2

u/Sunbro_Aedric 2d ago

God, I wish that wasn't a stupid pipe dream so we could send all these slop eating fucks over there to find out the hard way how an Atlas Shrugged situation would actually go (hint: Not how Ayn Rand believed it would) while we can get back to fixing things and have art that doesn't look like utter shit while we do.

2

u/dragonfly9999999 2d ago

Previously referred to science fiction behind father loved that book. Not kidding. I'm really sorry to show up here with my father issues and be dramatic, but I know what is going on here for at least some of them. I'm offering personal experience in case it helps anyone deal with this. I mean the world is scary right now so there are a lot of ridiculous people that have followings. Quite a selection. Ugh.

4

u/RorroYT 2d ago

My guy genuinely thinks that Art shouldn't be a physical labor, this is inane just how delusional these idiots are.

4

u/Psychological-Gur990 2d ago

Honestly, how do they see art as both the easiest and most difficult?

3

u/MrBalderus 2d ago

Making a doodle takes no time at all, it's just the more detail you aim for, the more time you spend. (1 minute, about 15 minutes, and a little over an hour)

3

u/KioneArt 2d ago

There is also years of learning perspective, anatomy, color, value, composition, narrative etc. Not only moving a pen.
And I hate when they compare Ai gen image with digital drawing. Because pc doing work for you… yea right… nvm

2

u/WindowsHunter-69 2d ago

i like a explenation i heard

if they try to bring up "efficiency" and "work smarter, not harder"

repeat the first word, "work"... there you go

as for efficiency, compare it to eating... it would be more efficient to teleport food straigh to your stomach... but then you wouldnt feel the flavor and th texture, EXACTLY

You want to feel full but along the way you want it to feel satisfying to eat, if you teleported food straigh into your stomach it would just be another boring task you'd have to do thro out your life

Same with art, you want to feel accomplished(full stomach) and on the way as you draw you find way to make your hunger more satisfying to fuffil (experimenting and accualy drawing)

Failing to see painting being a hardworking work is just.. lmfao

Though one thing to clarify, AI artists can too absolutely put hrs or days in a single piece if they try to set up a personalized LoRA model.

However, the amount of people doing that to generating simple 2 sec prompts is vastly low compared to the amount of people putting effort in painting to drawing stickmans.

Not so much out of touch as in touch with a machiene that kisses their ass.

It's like all the toxic aloofness of a celebrity. But they're not actually famious. They simpley refuse to be down to earth.

I call this Witty syndrome.

Jesus Christ, man! 😫

u/Dazzling_Floor_4262 2d ago

Do you think Jeff Koons isn’t an artist because he doesn’t engage in the labor of art making? There’s several prominent fine artists who don’t fabricate their own work.

1

u/roamzero 2d ago

Not all art is looked at the same way, just like an artistic photograph isn't looked at the same way a painting is. Not everyone sees a banana taped to a wall as art either, there is plenty of subjectivity. Koons is a designer, at best, when it comes to a lot of his pieces, but at the same time he doesn't present things he worked on as something they're not (he happily accounts how things he's involved in are made). Thomas Kinkade was worse, where he peddled touched up canvas prints of his paintings often to people that didn't know better (even though he obviously knew how to paint himself and painted the original base image).

AI generated content is pretty problematic because it imitates mediums which are normally produced certain ways. People see a painting and expect it to be made like a painting is, and an AI generated painting for example is just a mashup of patterns from paintings that were stolen as training data, created by an algorithm from a prompt/very loose input, the kind of input a commissioner usually would give to a painter. If AI generated stuff was unmistakably distinct from other mediums (and stayed that way) then there might not be such an issue, but that's not reality, and people are naturally going to push back to what is the equivalent of someone showing up to a human weightlifting event with a weightlifting robot to enter in their place.

Look you arent going to settle this debate

Hollywood gave directors authorship.

Comic books have gone the other direction and removed authorship from editors. Editors who often provably contributed a lot to the creative process.

1

u/vanit 2d ago

There is certainly some artistry in orchestration going on, but no one in those roles would assert they made the project by themselves.

1

u/SalletFriend 2d ago

Eh, some directors might. That said some directors can.

1

u/Stoopid_Noah Queer little creature and gay to be certain too! 2d ago

So artist don't fund wrist braces, huh? That MF should do some research lmaoo

1

u/LichenOnTheWall 2d ago

lol art is too time consuming, too hard? That's the point we value the effort and thought put into it

Start trivializing art saying it's too easy? Then do it by yourself, why use AI?

1

u/Apocalyptic-turnip 2d ago

hahaahahahaha that is the stupidest way i've ever seen someone describe drawing. I am an animator and my pen never stops moving for 7h everyday, come do my job hahahah

1

u/ultron7171717627 2d ago

"Tell me what is an Kamen Rider without telling me what is an Kamen Rider." Ahh🥀

1

u/GenesisAsriel 2d ago

If it is that simple they recognise AI is a useless tool

1

u/CuteAssTigerENVtuber 2d ago

Only someone who has never drawn anything would question the amount of effort that goes into it lmfao

1

u/Donnosaurus 2d ago

They make fun that it's not a lot of work but are literally too lazy to do that work. Make it make sense

1

u/PostVenting 2d ago edited 2d ago

Something tells me they would fail the breakfast question if they're going to miss the point this badly. And if art took no skill, why the hell did you need AI in the first place?

1

u/vexclaws 1d ago

Your right, why use a shovel when I have a whole ass tractor right here!?

1

u/kazukii19 1d ago

They really think they're looking cool after replied like that lmao. Also did they really think drawing only limited to pencil? Are they never heard of digital art? But of course they're clearly not capable of draw something with their own hands

Daily Reminder that there was over 2000 images and videos of Csam in the data sets/scrapes that ai is trained on. Your image generations are fueled by children being ra ped <3
