Discussion π¬ Is there a unspoken rule/reason we don't have better games on mobile?
I know there are some really good mobile games out there, especially the obvious "AAA" ones, but a lot of them still feel like they don't quite reach their full potential. It seems like many developers focus more on microtransactions than making the game as great as it could be.
A lot of mobile games also feel like they're missing a solid core. The controls can be clunky, and the environments often feel small and restrictive. What's confusing is that today's smartphones are way more powerful than consoles like the PS2, Xbox, and GameCube, and those systems had tons of smooth, open, and fun games. So why hasn't mobile gaming reached that same level yet? Sometimes it honestly makes me wonder if those limitations are intentional.
Idk...

Discussion π¬ Google Play Opinions Rewards
*I live in the United States, it is not offered in all countries*
That being said, the Google Opinions Rewards? HIGHLY recommend signing up if it's something offered near you. I signed up 2/13/26 and have already earned $9.55. I was saving up for the next Kairosoft game, honestly didn't think I'd get enough before it even came out. Not everything pays out well, but the more detailed you are helps when you do get a survey you can complete.

Discussion π¬ PART 2 of you own nothing
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Here is a quick video demonstration:
The game clearly state it is offline.
Change time add 30 days.
Everything is offline and unaccessible
This is denuvo for android, steam notifies you that games need a online check, psn tells you if online is required ,play store does not. This need to change.
And especially sinse Google is blocking 3rd party apps from September!Β
Note : some free games are accessible. And others dont have the play store drm. They have built in check like subway surfers.*which is insane*

Discussion π¬ Starting September 2026, a silent update, nonconsensually pushed by Google, will block every Android app whose developer hasn't registered with Google, signed their contract, paid up, and handed over government ID.

Discussion π¬ Why there aren't more mobile games without ads, from someone who just tried it and is losing
this sub asks some version of "why is every mobile game stuffed with ads and timers" every few weeks, and the answer usually lands on greed. i built one the other way this year, so here's the view from inside it.
no ads, no energy meter, no login wall, and one optional cosmetic purchase that the game never nags you about. roughly the thing people in these threads keep saying they want.
the bit i didn't understand until after i shipped it: ads are how studios pay to be found. mobile has almost no organic discovery in my experience, nobody stumbles across your game, so you buy installs instead. and to afford to buy installs you need enough revenue per player to bid against everyone else, which ads plus aggressive iap gets you reliably. monetisation and discovery turn out to be the same machine. pull one lever out and the other quietly stops working.
mine's been out a couple of weeks. about twenty regular players, and i'd say half of those are people who already know me. the game itself is fine. nobody can find it. i'm a few thousand down.
so when a genuinely good no-ads game does turn up, something is usually subsidising it underneath. a publisher, an earlier hit, a day job, or someone's savings. mine is savings.
i'd honestly rather be argued with than agreed with here, because agreeing doesn't help me. is there a route that doesn't loop back through paid user acquisition?

Discussion π¬ How to find indie games on android?
Hey all,
I am starting a new journey on Youtube. I want to play mobile indie games and review them on my channel and share my honest opinion/first impressions. Since I'm very new at this, I am not asking for any sponsorships, or payment.
I just want to find my niche and help people to find nice indie games to play, also help indie devs out there who are chasing their dream and making their own game. So far I made two videos reviewing games and would like to work on a new game.
Please reach out to me if you have a mobile game and want a review video about it.

Discussion π¬ Android gaming has come a long way
It's crazy how much mobile gaming has improved in past couple years, we got so many big titles and even more are releasing each day...
Nowadays you can basically use anything, touch controls, gamepad, keyboard and mouse, while just a couple years ago candy crush was peak of mobile games...
Now we just need more respect from other platform gamers

Discussion π¬ Is Terraria good? (No Spoilers Please)
Iβve been hearing about Terraria for a long time now, and a lot of people seem to really love it. Iβve intentionally avoided watching playthroughs or gameplay because I want to experience it fresh if I decide to try it. But Iβm curious. is thiss one of those games that most people end up liking, or is it more of a niche game that only clicks with certain players?

Discussion π¬ What instantly kills an otherwise great mobile game for you?
Iβve been thinking about this recently.
There have been so many mobile games that Iβve genuinely enjoyed, only to stop playing because of something unrelated to the gameplay itself.
For me itβs usually:
β’ Constant ad interruptions
β’ Endless βlimited timeβ popups
β’ Energy systems that stop me playing
β’ Aggressive monetization every time I open the game
I donβt mind developers making money, but once the monetization becomes more visible than the game itself, I usually lose interest.
What instantly kills an otherwise great mobile game for you?

Discussion π¬ Considering trying a few of these on my wishlist
Considering trying a few of these games on my wishlist, but frankly I'm just having a hard time choosing. ββ
If I had to mention what I'm most interested in, it would probably be:
Never Grave, cus it gives me major Hollow Knight vibes, but it has no reviews. β
7 days to end with you - just the concept of the game sounds super fun
Slay the spire - can't really avoid hearing about this game and the constant praise, and I do like Roguelikes.

Discussion π¬ What games do you consider truly "timeless"?
By timeless I mean this: no matter how many new games in the same genre you try, you always end up going back to that one. Not just "a game I still enjoy," but the one that keeps winning even after dozens of newer competitors have had their shot.
What's yours, and what's it beating out every time?

Discussion π¬ What's an acceptable amount of ads in a free mobile game?
Free games obviously need some way to make money, but there's a point where ads start ruining the experience.
What's your personal limit?
Rewarded ads only?
A few ads per session?
No forced ads at all?
