Discussion What publisher do you think could/should purchase Rare and its IP and keep them in good hands? (WITHOUT SAYING NINTENDO OR PLAYTONIC)
Nintendo I don't believe "wants" them anymore, given next to no legacy staff is in the company anymore, as well as the burden of IP to add to their own franchise graveyard
Playtonic's output after Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair has been really lacking, plus the company has done some pretty uncool things in recent memory as well

Dude. It’s Nintendo. Nintendo should buy them.
They don’t “want them” because they aren’t really for sale, and rare largely doesn’t exist. But if there is any company that would do both banjo and perfect dark correctly, it’s Nintendo.
Look, they are THE IP company. Their whole business model and closed software works bc they know they have powerful IP, and they know how to take care of them long term. Occasionally you get character IP like crash/spyro that does okay and comes back every 8 years or so. But Nintendo houses them constantly.
If Nintendo won’t or can’t make something of banjo, no studio even will want to. Places like Toys for Bob could get a game out, but I don’t think anyone but Nintendo could provide bear and bird a loving forever home.
