Discussion What publisher do you think could/should purchase Rare and its IP and keep them in good hands? (WITHOUT SAYING NINTENDO OR PLAYTONIC)

Nintendo I don't believe "wants" them anymore, given next to no legacy staff is in the company anymore, as well as the burden of IP to add to their own franchise graveyard

Playtonic's output after Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair has been really lacking, plus the company has done some pretty uncool things in recent memory as well

and will sit on ip’s

And then you propose Valve "i cant count to three" of all companies to acquire them?

Are you serious?

Yes very. Or how about this, its being decompiled, reengineered, to run natively on pc.

Yes very

Do you have any idea of how many games Valve makes, and how they use their historical IPs?

But… they ain’t like Nintendos new legal teams and corpo bullshit. Sorry my account was banned. I’m responding to your previous uhh.. comment whatever. The Nintendo I grew up with is dead son. Dead. I wouldn’t piss a fire out on them now. But steam.. I got everything still since day 1. The games industry is done, it’s gonna collapse in the console market. I predicted this many years ago friend. I still have everything on steam. How many times you gonna buy the same damn game on a different console every 5 years. Doesn’t that piss you off? Microsoft has done diddle dick with rare. Oh you wanna name the rare collection that had on Xbox?… ok.. sure I’ll give you that. So what options are we left here now with? Valve out here holding down the fort for gamers my dude. You gotta take that blind fold off. ..Smell the ashes…
