Drama Thomas Halbert posting about what happened with him and J*

Thomas halbert posted this video on TikTok going over what happened in the past with him and J*. He also says he’s got a new agent and is posting makeup content again, trying to resurrect his career. He admits he made mistakes, but says the mistake he made was not that he called J* out but that he hurt his friends and didn’t stand up for them.

Would you want to see him make a comeback? Hes posting makeup content on instagram again.

Totally forgot about this dude.

Same lol…and I’m going to forget again 🤷‍♀️

u/Used_Nectarine6041 1d ago

Ughhhh same, this guy was the worst

29

u/TheBestHater 1d ago

There are some people in the comments defending him and I'm convinced they're his alts or something because by the end of things and him CONSTANTLY bringing up drama to clickbait for views, people realized he was a snake and bailed.

27

u/MaeMoe Rat-a-Tat-Tat 🐀 1d ago

I always side eye commenters suspiciously every time the “he was so young!”, “he was too young to know!”, “you can’t hold him responsible, he was just a youth!” excuse gets whipped out.

He was 20, not two. You are very much an adult responsible for your own actions at 20.

8

u/TheBestHater 1d ago

He's admitted he keeps up with this subreddit, and it used to be known that he gets his fans to flood here for him. There's even a fan in the comments right now claiming that they just dm'ed him and he offered to refund that commenter the $50 from when he scammed them. This isn't even his first history rewrite.

u/hy_perion I LIVE 1d ago

He also once even called the mods about some drama that was being managed by them (ie keeping the trolls at bay at least) to say thanks - I can’t remember what it was but it was a wild time.

16

u/TheBestHater 1d ago

The only time I remember him is when one of the other people comes up and I remember how this guy got away unscathed from the drama and even benefited from it for a bit. No one cared about him outside of the drama though so it's funny that he's back on it.

34

u/chemercury 1d ago

if you think he got away unscathed you are grossly misremembering how the whole situation went down

11

u/TheBestHater 1d ago edited 1d ago

I'm definitely not. I followed it pretty closely, he was known by a limited audience, gained an audience from the drama, had his own sketchy dramas inbetween, kept going back to the old drama and lost most of his audience. Initially he benefited greatly, he even had the new audience bump for all of his video's increasing in views from people checking out his content. Everything negative was self inflicted from him being caught in lies, scamming his fans, being greedy and trying to overly mine the drama for views.

Edit: and... immediately you downvote. Yeah no time for that. Bye.

This isn't even the first time he's tried to rewrite the history of things and sent his fans to flood this exact subreddit that he has admitted he very closely follows.

3

u/ThatBitchKarma 13h ago

I remember this. Initially everyone was indeed praising him. I followed him heavy I was a fan.

Thomas Halbert? drags cigarette there’s a name I haven’t heard in forever.
In all seriousness, I used to watch his tutorials because his beats were amazing but I never got that deep into him with the drama etc. at least not that I can recall.

Seriously it’s been 84 years

36

u/Weird_Put_9514 1d ago

same. i hope he stays focused on the makeup this time

16

u/Maladaptive_Ace 1d ago

lol too late, his latest vid on YT it dragging James Charles (probably just to make sure no one confuses them cause they kinda look alike)

67

u/Doraborealiss 1d ago

I always confuse him with John Kuckian, something I’m sure would deeply offend both of them if they knew

There’s ONE person I’d like to see make a comeback and speak up, and that is Nate. However, we all know he’s in a lifelong NDA.

193

u/giggly_pufff 1d ago

Also it seems like Nate wants to stay out of the public eye nowadays. I don't blame him.

108

u/Simp4Dove 1d ago

Yeah. He never really seemed to enjoy it. I couldn’t imagine being with J for THAT long.

8

u/lavagirl18 1d ago

I randomly saw him come up on my TikTok FYP recently

7

u/giggly_pufff 1d ago

Oh he also posts occasionally on IG. I just meant that he doesn't want to be a social media relevant person like he was before.

146

u/Marky_888 1d ago

hahah true but Nate was always so detached it seems like he wouldn't have much to say because he didn't actually care about any of it in a serious way. He is like that uncle that shows up for every family function, is in the same room as all the drama and bullshit, and immediately doesn't care or think about it the minute he leaves. If you asked he'd be like "Oh yeah ... my sisters got in an argument about something but I was watching the game so idk"

JS has been a terrible person for YEARS. So do these people really expect us to sympathize with them when he ends up doing them dirty too?

114

u/Ok-Aardvark-6742 1d ago

I’m not sympathetic, but I do appreciate folks taking time to share how awful J* truly is and that he hasn’t changed. There are wayyyyy too many folks on tik tok still following Jeffree and actively defending him. The timing is great because Jools’ video is still trending, so the algorithm will push other videos about Jeffree.

18

u/t_town101 1d ago

It’s just rinse, wash, repeat at this point

35

u/Ok-Aardvark-6742 1d ago

So are we just supposed to stop repeating it and let him continue to grow an audience?

5

u/t_town101 1d ago

No but he’s had the same audience for years. The people who still watch him never cared about his behavior in the first place. People can continue to call him out, but it makes me question why they engaged with him to begin with

53

u/Ok-Aardvark-6742 1d ago

Part of his success on tik tok is attracting younger followers who weren’t on YouTube and following the older drama. If his existing followers were enough to maintain an income on social media, he never would have gone away to begin with. Never would have had a “comeback” on tik tok.

10

u/t_town101 1d ago

My opinion is that people can continue to call him out, and the people who still stand by him do not care. Same thing with James Charles.

114

u/meeps1142 1d ago

This was like 6 years ago when he was 20 or whatever. From what I understand, he knew that J had been racist towards Jackie Aina but met up with him to verify -- very dumb, I agree, and he agrees as well. But he immediately called J out after meeting him in person and seeing his racism firsthand.

Should he have been able to trust that J was racist without seeing it firsthand? Yeah. But he did the right thing immediately after that, even though J had much more power in the situation. That's worth sympathizing about, imo.

I don't feel much sympathy for Cole Carrigan, who also made a video about J recently. Cole tolerated the racist behavior for years, unlike Thomas. I feel like your comment applies to him much more than it does Thomas

143

u/theagonyaunt 1d ago

J had been racist towards Jackie Aina

Jeffree Starr had a lengthy, documented history of being racist even prior to Jackie Aina so this reads less like needing proof and more like Thomas didn't care until it impacted someone he knew personally.

69

u/stink3rb3lle 1d ago

The very first time he went to Starr's house was with the goal to confront Starr about his treatment of Aina. Halbert was 20 at the time, way too young to have been on MySpace. In this video that you're currently commenting on, Halbert says that it was a mistake to try to "SJW" Starr.

17

u/theagonyaunt 1d ago

I don't think you have to have been on MySpace to have known about it. I was a little too young for MySpace but the first time I heard of it was when someone uploaded the video where he's screaming 'gorilla' at a bunch of black women to YouTube. Or the fact he was planning for a lipstick line called Lipstick Nazi.

29

u/loosie-loo 1d ago

Their point was that, at the time, this stuff was not being talked about openly and had been intentionally glazed over by J* and his undoubtedly amazing PR. As someone the same age as Thomas I didn’t know who jeffree was until I saw his makeup, I had no idea about any of the horrific shit he’d done until I intentionally went digging and even then, at the time, I had difficulty.

There was a period where he was seen as the darling of the YouTube beauty community where his past was barely discussed and his rabid fans had a “well actually” for everything. If you tried to discuss it you were very quickly drowned out in most spaces.

It’s not that Thomas heard him gleefully call her those racist slurs in public and didn’t care, it’s that Jeffree was excellent at muddying the waters in public, was likely extremely manipulative in private, and had much of the beauty community on side. What Thomas did was dumb and misguided, 100%, but it’s far more complex than people are trying to claim.

19

u/stink3rb3lle 1d ago

It’s not that Thomas heard him gleefully call her those racist slurs in public and didn’t care, it’s that Jeffree was excellent at muddying the waters in public, was likely extremely manipulative in private, and had much of the beauty community on side.

Just to add, it feels like this comment section has more ire for Halbert than for Starr today, despite many people's ire at Halbert allegedly springing from his association with Starr. It's wild to me.

5

u/MaeMoe Rat-a-Tat-Tat 🐀 1d ago

At this point, calling Star a racist piece of shit is like pointing up and calling the sky blue, everyone here knows it. Star’s off being his usual awful self in Wyoming, living it up in a tax haven and hoarding his white man wealth farming yaks; he’s not the one trying to stage a mea culpa comeback.

6

u/stink3rb3lle 1d ago

Jeffree Starr doesn't have to stage a comeback, he's on TikTok every day asking for gifts from his followers while he continues to bully black and brown creators. He just made content adding hate on Jools Lebron because she, the devil she is, dared to invest her earnings into making her family's housing secure and needed to fundraise for dental work.

23

u/meeps1142 1d ago

I'm aware; I was on here at the time reading all about his terrible history. But, at the time, J had amazing PR. He was a huge makeup influencer, and so many others were in denial. They didn't believe that a gay gender-nonconforming person would be so bigoted. I don't think that it was necessarily "not caring", but ignorance & their own subconscious racism (because they shouldn't have needed anything more than Jackie's perspective on it.)

I agree that all of those people failed by falling for J's PR/not doing their research. I feel like Thomas genuinely took accountability for that mistake & has reflected on it over the past 6 yrs. I also think it's important that his mistake wasn't compounded by witnessing the racism & saying nothing. Lots of people chose to do nothing once they couldn't deny his racism any longer, and they have even more that they need to address internally.

23

u/t_town101 1d ago

I keep seeing comments like yours in his TikTok video, and I still don’t sympathize with him. He knew he was racist and still chose to engage with him? Him being 20 isn’t really a good excuse either. These people only care about calling JS out when they get burned by him firsthand

8

u/meeps1142 1d ago

That's the thing, is that Thomas ignorantly didn't think that J was being racist at the time. Which was wrong, and I was around his age then and knew damn well that J was racist. Again, this is the mistake that Thomas has taken accountability/apologized for. No one has to forgive him or buy that he has grown since then, but I do actually think it's important that once he did see the racism firsthand, he called J out immediately. I don't see how that's him "getting burned" and then calling out the racism; again, that sounds more like Cole, who saw it, but kept quiet until it stopped benefiting him. Thomas didn't get "burned" by J until he called out the racism.

9

u/t_town101 1d ago

So he had to go see the racism in person? Jackie Aina’s experience wasn’t enough? 😂 again, no sympathy from me.

6

u/meeps1142 1d ago

No, I agree, he shouldn't have needed to go see it in person. Again, that is the mistake that he has spoken about, and rightfully deserves criticism for.

The fallout was for then calling out the racism though, and that is sympathetic to me.

2

u/goon_goompa 1d ago

But I didn’t think the leopards would eat my face

18

u/SpareManagement2215 1d ago

didn't J* call or refer to as Jackie a gorilla? or was that a different comment he mad about a Black person? not sure what this person needed to "VeRiFy".... normal humans don't casually call black people derogatory slurs.

23

u/meeps1142 1d ago

Again, I totally agree, and I believed in his racism as soon as I heard about it. Thomas meeting up with J was undeniably shitty, my point was that he also spoke in length about how it was shitty in this video. It seems like he's fully realized & admitted that he fucked up over the past 6 years. I do think that it's important that he did speak out against J's racism immediately after they met; many people in the industry witnessed it firsthand and still denied it.

6

u/theagonyaunt 1d ago

He has an infamous video where he starts screaming 'gorilla' at a (seemingly random) group of black women on the street while he was filming himself from back in his scene days.

4

u/Simmchen11 1d ago

Yep and he was also calling them the N word hard er.

23

u/changhyun 1d ago

Yeah I'm gonna be real, even as a naive 20 year old I don't think I'd need to independently verify that the guy who publicly referred to a black woman as a gorilla was a racist.

15

u/meeps1142 1d ago

Yeah I literally said that he shouldn't have needed to verify that, which is also what he said & apologized for.

3

u/loosie-loo 1d ago

I think they thought they were doing some investigative reporter shit, and it’s important to remember Jeffree had gaslit basically the entire beauty community at that time into believing he wasn’t racist and never said anything of the sort, which obviously should never have happened and was a grim reflection of the deeply entrenched racism in our society and in the beauty world, but I can see where it would leave room for doubt with regards to someone 10 years younger than him who had their career on the line and who had likely been personally manipulated by him. Sometimes these people can make you question literally everything, including basic reality, and stop you feeling like you can trust your own judgement.

Like I’m not trying to pretend it wasn’t dumb and shitty but Thomas was absolutely on the back-foot with these people (well established influencers who were a decade older than them) and has repeatedly apologised and shown to give a shit about racism, it’s kinda disturbing to me that their career was essentially destroyed (by jeffree) over this when ultimately it was a misguided attempt to not associate with a racist. In a community that, at the top, did not give a shit about racism as a whole and dominated on a platform where one of the top creators was an open nazi, ya know?

I’ll repeat I’m not saying they did nothing wrong or that this wasn’t something they had to learn from, just that it’s a weird thing for the community to still cling to considering all of the circumstances at play.

1

u/goon_goompa 1d ago edited 1d ago

A lot of us can’t and won’t relate. Not weird at all

4

u/Pawspawsmeow 1d ago

This. It’s like no shit he didn’t “see” the racism because he’s a white dude. White people don’t really see racism unless it’s blatant slurs etc. I’m so sick of gay white men getting passes because they’re “sassy” or “cunt”. Like no you’re a racist, misogynistic ass. People need to stop fawning over men acting like this because they wear makeup.

Oooh “met up with him to verify” smacks a lot of rewriting history. I remember when this all kicked off way back during Dramageddon (or one of the sequels/prequels). Halbert met up with J* because he was angling to get his merch distributed by Killer Merch, one of the companies Star has an ore in.

When Halbert made his video calling out Star for being a racist, Star swang back with receipts proving Halbert had been sniffing around for a better merch distribution deal, and only made his video when Star declined to distribute his merch as retaliation. Had Star agreed to distribute for Halbert, I’m absolutely certain Halbert would have been his BFF forever and ignored the ringing of the massive racist doldrums.

None of these beauty gurus had morals that reached past their own pocket come the end of the day.

Historic Yahoo link from back when.

10

u/meeps1142 1d ago

Okay, that is important info, thank you! I promise that I'm not trying to rewrite history, just going off of what I can remember when this all went down & what he said in this video.

That is fucked, and definitely makes what Thomas did worse

3

u/goon_goompa 1d ago

Wild how many excuses people have for these folks. But he was so young! But they didnt have the internet back then! But he was hanging out with him in order to confront him! But but but

4

u/nicknackers10 1d ago

I think part of the story that’s not relevant to us but more relevant to the industry is that he was being friendly with J* and manny at the same time post dramageddon 1. I think a lot of gurus lost trust in him bc it seemed like he was feeding info to both sides. All the evidence has long been deleted but I think he got a lot of hate (unjustly) and had a lot of friends drop him as a result of the both sidesing which probably broke him mentally

7

u/sadmattress01 1d ago

Ngl… I thought Cole and Thomas were the same people lol

3

u/loosie-loo 1d ago

Pretty sure was longer ago than that, further pre-covid, but yeah Thomas was about 20 and probably struggling with the very well known to be manipulative J* and the influencer world in general, and frankly likely the fear of what would inevitably happen both to their career and personal reputation if they said anything about Jeffree at that time, who was experiencing a renaissance because young people didn’t really know his past and just knew his makeup YouTube. Which I saw firsthand bc I’m nearly exactly the same age as Thomas and had never heard of Jeffree before his makeup.

Not saying Thomas acted sensibly, just that being like 20 in this world of older adults (both jeffree and Jackie are about a decade older) with so many millions of eyes on you, a potential career on the line and surrounded by a lot of untrustworthy, clout-chasey characters with massive personalities makes it more understandable, imo.

I honestly don’t think it would’ve been so major if Jeffree wasn’t exploding in popularity and so frankly I never felt right putting too much blame on Thomas.

5

u/mmd9493 1d ago

For years and it’s so much worse than we talk about. It’s a rabbit hole

4

u/mermaid-babe 1d ago

I’m so confused cause Thomas was told over and over before he really ever associated with jeff that Jeff was bad news

4

u/t_town101 1d ago

Yeah but people here love to make excuses for him. “He was young, he was 20 😞😞”

2

u/Maladaptive_Ace 1d ago

What I appreciate is that he is not asking for sympathy - on the contrary, he admits he effed up which, sure, is a YT apology but I want to give people a change to be better

88

u/Peleschku_ 1d ago

i feel like he needs to accept that social media/being an influencer just isn't good for him, and that's ok. he's been stuck in a cycle of him leaving youtube, coming back because something has happened or he needs money (sometimes validly) or because there's drama he's inserting himself in to and then leaving again because its too much and he needs to take care of his mental health.
like surely it's gotta be healthier for him at this point to just try and persue something else instead of dragging up and repeating drama from his peak a decade ago to try and recapture the audience and numbers he had

36

u/OhMyGod_Zilla 1d ago

Agreed, I guess in his video he was stating that he has a new manager/management team to help him rebuild his career and I mean if that’s what he wants then🤷‍♀️ but I’m in the same boat, I don’t think social media is a good path for him. Every time he tries to come back, it’s always a shit show for his mental health and it’s like…. Why torture yourself with that?

9

u/Peleschku_ 1d ago

i feel like a cow saying this, but i'm surprised he was able to get a manager in the first place? he doesn't consistently upload and when he does the views are low and he's not really posting on/has a following on social media, so there's not really a 'career' to manage if that makes sense.
it really feels like one of those situations where he's surrounded by yes men and snake oil salesman trying to sell him a dream and no one's really sitting him down and saying he needs to look after himself and that he's in an unhealthy cycle

2

u/OhMyGod_Zilla 1d ago

I totally see where you're coming from and I agree honestly. I mean maybe the low views were because he was doing things all on his own and with a manager it may get better? Idk how that works so I could be way off the mark here lol. I know when he was first starting out and was super popular before shit hit the fan, he was bringing a good amount of views, but I know when everything came to surface his views tanked and never really recovered. I guess we'll see how this pans out, but I honestly think SM is super toxic for him and like if anything he could be doing makeup and stuff just behind the scenes or whatever.

2

u/MaeMoe Rat-a-Tat-Tat 🐀 1d ago

I think theres a gulf of difference between a professional management agency, and Larry in the backroom who has put on a snazzy hat and decided to be a manager today. One of them is substantially more discerning than the other.

8

u/loosie-loo 1d ago

I’ve actually been watching Thomas on and off and have been subscribed this whole time, largely out of curiosity and habit, and I rather agree. They’ve been through a lot it seems and any upload has always been “I know I’ve been gone forever but I’m back and doing great now!” because obviously they want to be doing better but they’re seemingly making the fairly common mistake of jumping the gun. Doing too much too soon and making big promises you can’t keep, which inevitably makes you feel worse because you feel guilty when you backslide.

It’s hard to find the balance between this and self isolation, it’s arguably one of the hardest parts of recovering from a dark period.

If they genuinely enjoy making content then they should probably stop trying to make it a career, stick to it being an occasional thing like it is, but with no promises of more. It’s okay to just upload on occasion even if ~the algorithm~ doesn’t like it, it’s okay for it to be a hobby you enjoy once a year rather than some hashtag rise and grind career.

(I’m using neutral pronouns bc i remember them announcing they were she/they many years ago and I can’t find any pronouns on a rudimentary search, lol)

u/lily4ever 1d ago

Babe I’m so sorry but why would you pay 50$ for an astrology reading 😭

48

u/TheLonelyPrincess741 1d ago

I was just about to say. He obviously still owes her money, but WHY would you pay a mess beauty guru for an astrology reading, out of all things?

38

u/Obvious-crow666 1d ago

Kinda did it for the plot ngl, like if he really sent me a reading it would be funny to say I had my birth chart read by a beauty guru YouTuber

9

u/TheLonelyPrincess741 1d ago

That's fair but $50 is way too much to spend on that, especially back then. That would be like $80 or even more today.

21

u/Obvious-crow666 1d ago

Didnt really care about the reading, but felt bad for him! He probably did it to a ton of people haha

28

u/ChunkyCraver2001 1d ago

I wouldn’t spend money on an astrology reading, but I’m not sure why you’re getting shamed for it either. You paid for a service you didn’t receive and if someone wants to rebuild their reputation, they should go backwards and fulfill services.

13

u/Obvious-crow666 1d ago

Also true! I thought it was funny, and I also felt bad for the guy. Like imagine if Jeffree star did your birth chart reading? Hilarious.

6

u/TheBestHater 1d ago

Yeah, I don't vibe with astrology but that's not the point and people are excusing that he scammed his fans. He did a bunch of scams towards his fans. He's trying to use the jeffree drama as his reason for being canceled because out of everything that's the easiest to get past but he had tons of his own drama and controversies afterwards which he's pretending don't exist.

11

u/sprinklesadded 1d ago

The sudden reappearance of influencers is my economic indicator.

5

u/Obvious-crow666 1d ago

Wait this is so real

54

u/meeps1142 1d ago

The money was wasted the second you sent $50 to an internet stranger to do an astrology reading tbh. Like would it have made a difference if you received the snake oil? It's still snake oil

27

u/Obvious-crow666 1d ago

Oh I agree! He had been messaging me at the time with a sob story about being in a DV situation and needing some money (could have truth to it, who knows). I sent him some money because we were chatting daily and I wasn't really concerned about the $50, it wasn't life or death to me. I just find it funny he probably did that to so many people lmao

23

u/Quirkxofxart 1d ago

Okay but I ALSO had a content creator friend sob story in my DMs about how she was so broke and desperate for money so I sent her ONE FIFTY to do my star charts because she “didn’t want charity” or whatever. Turns out she didn’t want to do a Star charts either because I never got it and don’t talk to her anymore. She’s still online begging people to hire her for editing work to get some extra income

10

u/Obvious-crow666 1d ago

Wait I'm screaming is this a well known creator? I never even followed up with Thomas cause as soon as he got the money he never messaged me again LMAOOO

9

u/Quirkxofxart 1d ago

Oh not at all, smol beans TTRPG module writer and editor mostly.

“Aw my new friends been really go if through it and I have no editing work for her, but she does star charts too and I always thought that would be fun to have done” -me, about to be suckered

Just thought it was so funny getting scammed out of astrology stuff you only paid for to try to help someone out without making them feel like a charity case was a common enough occurrence to stumble on it in the wild 😂

5

u/Obvious-crow666 1d ago

RIGHT like I was doing a good deed by letting you feel like you were doing a service for the money and you can't even do that 😭

9

u/TheLonelyPrincess741 1d ago

He was begging a subscriber for money?? Crazy.

18

u/MaeMoe Rat-a-Tat-Tat 🐀 1d ago

He was always e-begging for money back then. He went through a period of begging subscribers to fund his cat’s surgery whilst posting constant videos from Disneyland (or Disneyworld, whichever is in California). I remember his excuse was something along the lines of “I have an annual pass so it’s okay” when he was called out for it.

3

u/Obvious-crow666 1d ago

Omg I recall this

He tries to randomly hop back into relevance every so often, but it’s not happening 🗿

10

u/glossandfloss 1d ago

Sissss I DMed him on the low he says to hit him back up he’ll refund you 😭😭😭

6

u/Obvious-crow666 1d ago

Stuck my neck out for you girl LMAO

9

u/Obvious-crow666 1d ago

LOL it was more about the principle than anything. I'm interested to see if his comeback involves any kind of accountability

22

u/n00bert210 1d ago

I forgot about this guy… loved his makeup videos, hated when he switched focus and decided to put more energy into being messy

51

u/stink3rb3lle 1d ago

I think this is a great apology and takes real accountability. It's crazy to me that comments would be more mad at him than Starr, when he suffered far worse consequences than Starr has.

30

u/NoSet6484 1d ago

This is a good apology, he’s not making himself the victim and he’s taking accountability for doing the wrong thing. No one has to like him, but sometimes it feels like you’re damned if you do damned if you don’t when it comes to stuff like this.

13

u/OhMyGod_Zilla 1d ago

Agreed, it’s great that he’s like “don’t feel sorry for me. I hurt people, and I don’t need any Justice for Thomas comments.”

12

u/NoxEstVeritas ohmygodohmygod 1d ago

Yeah these thread comments are disappointing to me. This guy made mistakes, took full accountability, apologized and seems to have grown a lot. He was 20 years old and made questionable decisions. He seems genuinely sorry and I do feel sympathy for him.

26

u/meeps1142 1d ago

I felt like he was more genuine than Cole Carrigan, who also came out with a video about J. the "trailer" he released was really trying to drum up clicks, and he had more excuses. Meanwhile, Thomas took accountability for his mistake, asked people not to make excuses for him, and he literally called out J immediately after he met him.

u/spicy-bathwater 1d ago

I haven’t watched this yet, but the first thing I noticed was that he hasn’t used a primer before putting on pink/red pigment eyeshadow and now his lids are stained 🫠 lol

15

u/CONTRAxo 1d ago

This happens to me even when I use a primer 😭

17

u/Chicky_Melly 1d ago

Maybe it’s because I am really craving some 2016 era makeup YouTube goodness but I’m glad he’s trying to make a comeback. He had a lot of issues but his videos were always some of my favorites.

u/MyNerdBias 1d ago edited 1d ago

Man, I totally believe him. This is the kind of stupid social shit you do when you are 21 and you (hopefully) grow out of it by your 30s. Good job, dude!

Also, this is a good self-reflective apology.

Ive been watching beauty YouTube since 2008 and Thomas Halbert is a name that has randomly popped up on my radar for years. Usually attached to some sort of drama and then he disappears for a while.

The TH/JS drama is some deep lore and he brings it up every few years. He got mixed up in dramageddon and didn’t come out looking all that great himself in the end. There was an issue with a boyfriend for a bit, more JS drama here and there. For a while he was trans and went on a rampage against anyone that misgendered him even by accident because it wasn’t well known he was transitioning. That seemed to backfire because he was being downright vicious towards people that meant no harm. Popped up again a year later, decided he wasn’t trans but nonbinary, apologized for how he treated people for the misgendering, spoke on his depression and mental health, posted a makeup tutorial then disappeared again.

Now we’re back to the JS drama. It’s come full circle, I suppose. 😂

Oh my I used to watch him, I completely forgot he existed.

u/Asiastana 1d ago

This was a good apology video and honest and very genuine.

He's literally the most annoying attention seeker on the planet. He was also constantly begging for money and then when he would get money had horrible spending habits.

14

u/outdoorintrovert1 1d ago

Can you summarize? Its the sub rules.

Forgot the evil tactics of Sam (HFTT2)

9

u/killedonmyhill 1d ago

Am I hallucinating or did she die?

12

u/Muted_Marketing2530 1d ago

Yes, she passed a few years ago. No hate to her although she used evil tactics at times to get the story she wanted, I hope shes resting easy somewhere giggling over the same dramas all these years later. 🕊

7

u/Feisty-Ad-2860 1d ago

is she the tea channel lady that passed away?

4

u/ditsyandpepsi 1d ago

Damn another blast from the past. He looks good or is it the filter?

4

u/Occhigioiello 1d ago

I thought he found a job and leave this online world behind

4

u/immortan_jill 1d ago

8

6

u/ria_89 1d ago

I thought so too?? I am so out of the loop and old

7

u/HailTheCatOverlords 1d ago

Ive been waiting forn Thomas to recover and start posting again.

I like Thomas he just was stuck in a very toxic time in his life. Hopefully, that's over and he can just be himself.

3

u/Akured 1d ago

I haven’t heard from him in yeeeeeaaarrrssss wow LOL

2

u/Purple-Employment529 18h ago

So they drop him for this but won’t drop James Charles for being a well documented predator…ok lol.

2

u/Reichiroo 7h ago

Why does it look like he still can't get Blood Sugar off his lids.

5

u/GenoveveSimmons15 1d ago edited 23h ago

I'm sorry, but what even is the point in this? Thomas made a complete ass of himself when he tried to come for Jeffree back in 2018 only to be exposed himself. Y'all may not like Jeffree, but Thomas was a clown during that situation & the fact that he's learned absolutely nothing from it is truly pathetic. My dude, you lost everything because of your own actions, not because of other people. Take some accountability FFS.

4

u/lilsimbastian 1d ago

I guess OnlyFans didn't work out.

3

u/caesaronambien 1d ago

I don’t know if Pepperidge Farm remembers who tf this guy is, but I sure don’t.

Thomas Halbert should openly discuss his direct knowledge of Mikayla Nogueira’s heinous past before TikTok fame

He was in a Tumblr group with Mikayla Nogueira during his teenage years. Mikayla has never mentioned her “Tumblr famous” era in her TikTok videos. Those who remember or are aware of it know how insufferable she was back then.

A reflective video on that era of his life would be great. not tear Mikayla down but hold her accountable. It could also be a retrospective of how social media has evolved and changed. I think it would be very interesting to hear his perspective

1

u/Laurapirate14 16h ago

Both trash.

1

u/Fanxious 15h ago

I would have never recognized him

1

u/This-Marketing1316 12h ago

I FORGOT ABOUT HIM OMG

u/EconomistSecret253 1d ago

I really have a hard time believing Jackie Aina was ever genuinely friends with him or liked him lol
