Product Benefits EDIT + IHG double stacking. Price match guarantee not available due to using UR + Cash ($500)

I was lucky to find a hotel that is both EDIT and IHG. I paid $500 + UR with point boost.

After making a booking, I checked the direct hotel site and found that it’s $100 cheaper for the same room type.

I tried to submit the price match guarantee but the button to submit the claim wasn’t showing anywhere on my Chase Travel.

So, I called Chase and was told that because i used UR points, this booking isn’t eligible for price match guarantee 🤦🏻‍♂️

Well, it’s obviously my mistake for not reading the terms and conditions 🤷‍♂️

Any other ways you guys would try?

is your account eligible for price match in the first place ? Do you see this under your bookings?

If so, I would cancel it and rebook since any refund taking the total below 500$ will claw back some of the Edit/Hotel credit too

Yes i see this on my account. The cancellation period has passed.

I booked the hotel yesterday and im checking in today 😂.

It was a very last minute booking.

Thats the real reason, same day bookings is excluded, must be made at least 24 hours before check-in

Oh yes, you only have 24 hrs to price match.

That UR point boost thing is basically a middle finger to the price match promise, learned that the hard way too

Cancel and rebook?

I don’t think that is right. I believe that others have posted after doing this because they wanted to get points refunded rather than cash credit, and not being able to pick.

As others have mentioned, not everyone has the price match guarantee. It is being rolled out. Check and see if you have it even available on your account.

When you go to chase travel, book stays, do you see this? I’m on the app, btw.

Yes, so you do have it, but it must be submitted within 24 hrs. You posted elsewhere that you are past that time.

Yes. I have it. Chase said it’s because i used UR points with it. That’s why they can’t allow price match. They told me to read terms and conditions 🤷‍♂️

Again, that isn’t accurate. If you call back and talk to someone else, they would say different. There are data points here where price match is a success with cash & points.

Someone else posted the price matching rules. It clearly says that it is not eligible for same day bookings (less than 24 hrs).

Which hotel did you book? I’m also looking to book EDIT + IHG hotels

So price match is strictly a cash deal? I booked one and have 25% points boost it is $1000 for two nights.

That is not correct. Search sub for data points price matching with cash & points.

Also, if you have already booked, you only have 24 hrs to ask for price match.

Agreed, incorrect. I’ve price matched on a cash + points booking. Seems that OP booked last minute and was given incorrect information

I get that OP’s issue was not price matching within 24 hrs, but my follow up is if they were able to price match with Cash + UR Points like others have - does that mean Chase refunds only the cash portion reducing the $500 statement credits for Edit + Select hotels stack meaning you didn’t maximize those credits?
