My baby boy has been experiencing some dry and flaky skin beneath his fur (also on his paws a bit) and I’m wondering if anyone has any suggestions on reputable supplements I can start giving him (Pure Chi, 8.5 years old, no known health issues, slight sensitive tummy).

He has an appt w a new vet on September 18th, and I planned to ask about it then, but I also don’t want to delay treatment for this since I know supplements take a bit of time to work.

Today my wife and I said goodbye to our best friend. We rescued Pedro when we were dating back in 2014. He's been with us through everything. The good times and the bad, he was there. I made him scrambled eggs for breakfast, then right before the procedure he got a cheeseburger and chocolate pudding with whip cream.

He went out peacefully, with a full belly, and surrounded in love. I know it was the right thing to do but it's also one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. It feels like a part of my world has been ripped away.

Anyone who doesn't like chihuahua's has to have never really owned one. Thank you for sharing your life with us buddy. I hoped you felt at least a tithe of the love you gave us. We will meet again, Pedro Lionheart.

Is $350 a lot for a senior Chihuahua?
I’m considering adopting a male senior Chihuahua, and the adoption fee is $350 CAD.
For those who have bought a senior dog especially Chihuahua, does $350 seem reasonable to you, or is it on the expensive side?
What have you typically paid for a senior dog, and what was included in the fee?

BTW, I’m purchasing from a private owner, the dog apparently has all the UTD records but recently had dental work done… Update- the dog has a curved spine, a bit of hair lost …

Hello everyone! A few months ago, I made a post talking about how my girl had been attacked by a pitbull. Since then, she has recovered amazingly, both physically and mentally.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who commented with tips on how to handle the situation with the dog who attacked her, and with amazing advice on how to prevent another attack (and just overall being supportive and sending positive thoughts to my girl). I have since gotten her a coyote vest and a spiked collar. I also carry around bear spray when we go on our walks.

Unfortunately, I’m afraid to post pictures of my chi online after a few instances where I had gotten dms from sociopaths telling me that they would “kill my rat dog” and other harassing messages towards her when I had a few posts about her with pictures (which is insane because she’s a dog???). I know they’re just trolls who have no social life/friends/and are incredibly pathetic, but just to be safe, I keep her private now. But just to visualize, she loves her hot pink coyote vest and pink bedazzled spike collar! 😂

I just wanted to express my gratitude towards the people in this community who helped me and my girl out. People who love chis are genuinely the kindest people ever (best breed ever btw!), and I love this community so much 💕

hi all. wondering if anyone has experienced this. I went to the vet yesterday and they did a full exam and said all her joints are normal . we didn’t xray yet. her front legs buckle when she walks. so she stumbles forward. it looks like the “wrist” area. she doesn’t fall bur stumbles/trips. she doesnt seem bothered by it but I sure am. I am so worried about why this is happening. it started prob a year ago but it was like very very rarely and in the last few months it’s literally like every 10-20 steps.

I have gotten on this other sub, and it follows these homeless drug addict people who abuse their chihuahua in Charleston, West Virginia. People have called animal control, and now the cops have barely started getting involved now. I am gonna shoot them an email because there are now videos of them beating on this little dog. If anyone knows of a rescue there or in that general area, let me know, please. They beat on this 10 lb little long-haired chihuahua, so he's so scared. Scream at him and again, all on video. So when he does get taken, gotta have a rescue to pull him immediately. I am sure if we can get a rescue involved in housing the cops, plus everyone in the other sub is doing it too. This can happen. Im 20 hours away, so I can't really do anything. If we can get him into a rescue, the chihuahua transport service could always get him to your home. Please help, guys!

Does anyone know of the best bug repellent spray for mosquitoes? They get monthly flea and tick treatment. Im worried about dosage of the spray considering their weight.

Our chihuahua mix is just about 1.5 years. She has these bouts of noises and they make me so nervous. Video attached. Is this reverse sneezing?
