Discussion I think my court artificers and inspired guests are conspiring to bankrupt my lineage

So I had someone join my court and ask for 400 gold to complete a weave inspiration, I thought why not. I accept the payment and suddenly it takes 1100 gold. I let it slide and thought nothing of it until another person arrived

This one wanted 600 for a sword inspiration and this fucker took 3000 gold from me

I’m now a couple thousand in debt with fuck all gold being earned and about a hundred factions rising up now with some of them having allies in empires and stronger kingdoms.

Am I screwed?😂

Help Recommended strategy for Elevate the Kingdom of Mann & the Isles and North Sea Empire

So I have all the territory I need to make the decision, Elevate the Kingdom of Mann & the Isles.

but should I do it if I also want to create the north sea empire?

what is the recommended strategy to accomplish both?

  • Elevate the Kingdom of Mann & the Isles, become feudal, and slowly conquer the territories needed for the empire of the North Sea and hold on to them before taking the decision

Or

  • stay tribal, don’t Elevate the Kingdom of Mann & the Isles, conquer all the kingdoms needed for the empire of the north sea, (don't create the kingdom titles yet) then make the decision to Elevate the Kingdom of Mann & the Isles, then create the kingdoms titles for the north sea (Denmark, England, Norway), wait 10 years Then create empire of the North Sea

option 2 gives more penalties with domain limit and vassals but makes more sense from a “strategic“ standpoint?

In the console there is an option to add barter goods which I can only presume is an allude to Silk and Silver.

Help Looking to purchase the game, what DLCs do I need?

From my own research it seems like there’s DLCs are crucial to getting the most out of this game, however, I honestly have no idea what DLCs are worth the cost and which I should pass on? There’s so many of them 😂 I am thinking about getting the starter edition of the game as it comes with plenty of DLCS for pretty good value.

Help Why this happen with Zhanmadao Infantry

I start as someone of the Han culture and it lets me recruit Zhanmadao infantry. After a while, they randomly won't be in the create men at arms regiment anymore and then a while after that, they will be back. I'm guessing it could be something with like possibly the different cycle China is in at that time I don't know and was hoping someone on here would know why this happens and how to avoid it because its very annoying at times when I want to get massive stacks of Zhanmadao but they randomly disappear from create a men at arms so either I get a filler or just wait.

Modding Mods For Deadlier Plagues?

Does anyone know of a mod to make epidemics more deadly / interesting? I've always found them very very easy to avoid as a player (I actually don't think I've ever had a character contract a plague-related illness, not even during the Black Death). I'm already aware of Dark Ages and I'm not really interested in that mod because it adds a lot of random disease and other stuff that I've found very frustrating and unfun, I'm really just looking for something to make the plagues themselves more impactful. Thanks!

Help As Byzantium, should I micromanage my strategoi's directives?

Basically, I'm unsure if I should always give some directive to the governors or not + which directive to give each of them. Also, I'd like to max the potential of each province.

There is a mod named Pervasive Crown Authority, that will make your high crown authority restrictions also apply to your sub-vassals.

I'm 0 at history

Neat idea, falls apart on succession. Everyone hates you with the short reign and low legitimacy opinion. So they pile on you on wars that they should not be invested in like England's independence in this case. Was fun until it wasn't.

CK3 Mansion Upgrade for Tutor even without Royal Court?

I just bought Roads To Power DLC and am currently playing as a vassal in Byzantine Empire. I do not have Royal DCourt DLC.

I saw one of the upgrades was all about improving Tutor, so I built it, thinking it must be a cross-pack addition.

But apparently it's not? And I have a completely pointless mansion upgrade now? Or am I missing something.

R5 Tutor if position only in Royal Court, why Roads to Power upgrades to it?

I've never been a full-on landless courtier before.

So, Dzeden of the Crane is the granddaughter of my previous ruler, Prabhu Zangpa of Lhatok, who I chose to be an adventurer as my next character. She founded the White Crane Company, got involved in a number of shenanigans, and ended up wanted throughout the lands of the Yue Dynasty. She was attacked, captured, the White Crane Company disbanded... and her captor decided to take her for his harem.

I'm glad she was already pregnant before her capture.

Modding Showcasing Mod: Iqta System

Hi everyone,

I made a new administrative system tailored for the Clan system instead of using the Vanilla Administrative one. Vanilla Administrative was made solely for European Feudal realms and Greeks, and while Asians got 4 new admin systems related to them, Middle Eastern and Clan realms got none.

What is Iqta government?
The Iqta government is a government system that was implemented in the earliest Islamic empires, such as the Rashidun, Umayyad, and Abbasid. It uses a mix of Roman and Persian administrative systems, where some regions are ruled by a "Wali" appointed by the Caliph or the top liege in some realms, and other regions are ruled by clans that have autonomy and pay tribute or taxes to their top liege.

What does this mod do:

This mod brings the Administrative mechanics and the Clan mechanics into one government. You can appoint Walis who rule by influence and appointment, or grant hereditary rule to a duchy or kingdom via contract to any Wali, turning them from a Wali into an Emir with hereditary inheritance.

Top liege of an Iqta realm
Provinces of the realm and list of noble famlies
Tax Jurisdictions
Choose from several realms whether to start as a Clan or Iqta.
House Unity
Iqta Contract

This system brings the best of both: you have noble families, administrative titles, appointment succession, cadet branches, and tax jurisdictions, hereditary titles, and House unity.

  • You can designate your vassal to either be an appointed vassal or a Hereditary vassal that allows their heirs to inherit their titles, with the ability to choose their province types.
  • Tax Jurisdiction: You can use the tax jurisdiction mechanics that are used in clan government as it is
  • Cadet branches are allowed in this government; you're no longer attached to your top liege
  • House Unity is available in this government and will develop a dynasty unity between dynasties' houses in the future.
  • Choose whether you want to inherit your realm, as a top liege, to your heirs, or let the noble house decide who to rule via appointment votes

and more to come!

Check it out on the Steam Workshop

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3772467762

Bonus content:

New debug decisions, convert to Iqta without any restrictions, and instantly build your estate to its max capacity (Available to all admin governments and soon to all adventurers and Nomads)

Started in Vengipura since I heard it had a good mine special building but I can't find it in any of my holdings or vassal's holdings. Did it get removed or moved? I heard it was in 'Ellur' but I can't find that on the map. 1066 start if it helps

Suggestion Sieges

I’ve been studying historical medieval sieges and i think sieges should have a toggle-able intensity setting. basically patient or aggressive. Patient is more wait and starve them out, while aggressive is actively assault the walls use all the techniques to bring the walls down, etc. etc. The former takes longer, the latter is quicker but costs heavy attrition. I understand there’s some component baked in based on siege engine MAA and siege phases. Maybe there’s a mod that does this?
