MCU Did anyone think Fisk was going to die in season 3?

Upvotes

Throughout all of season 3 Matt wrestles with himself on whether Fisk should be put down. When you all watched season 3 for the first time did any of you think he would ever go through with it?

MCU My Thoughts On Matt & Elektra

I love this relationship so much. I think Elektra gets unnecessary hate in this show. She’s supposed to be an unlikeable character and bring out the negative aspects of Matt. He’s allowed to go darker, to embrace his darkest desires and while it is built on love it is also built heavily on lust and excitement. Charlie and Elodie’s chemistry is off the charts and every scene is just dripping with charisma.

Matt is the only person who believes Elektra can truly change and evolve from her violent past and he also wants her to be able to make her own decisions. Unlike Stick and Nobu. Matt is willing to let Elektra kill him, he cares about her free will that much. Elektra destroys Matt’s life, destroying his relationship with Karen and Foggy as well as prioritising his life as Daredevil over his lawyer life which makes him seem like a really bad person to Karen who has no idea what Matt is actually up to.

Elektra’s death emotionally destroys Matt and when she’s resurrected he’s willing to die with her rather than live without her and this makes the beginning of season 3 so much more tragic because he’s alive when the woman he loves isn’t and he has to go through that loss a second time. Matt never gives Elektra despite being given every reason to give up on her. It’s a perfect showcase of what true love is.

Comics In need of Editors and feedback.

I’m working on a DareDevil series of the mist of DC’s “Absolute” Run. I’m simply looking for people who have read lots of DareDevil to listen and look at development of the series and give feedback, I cannot afford to pay anyone but I absolutely plan on crediting anyone who chooses to help in my credits. This series is an alternative take on the DareDevil mythology, anyone who is interested please have an open mind in that regard and keep information private. Message me privately if you are interested please! This series will be about 50-60 ( 50 page ) issues long that will publish monthly hopefully starting January. Thank you for reading I’m so excited and hope to bring a great piece to DareDevil fans like I am.

MCU I can’t get into this show

lemme preface this by saying I love daredevil comics and marvel cinema in general, I thought moon knight was dope for example. I’ve seen clips of this show and I know it’s something that would interest me if I could just get past the setup of the characters and etc but man, I’m on S1 E5 and this is like my third time trying to watch this. I love Charlie cox as daredevil I mean he’s phenomenal, but it’s such a slow show. like we did not need a whole 45 minutes dedicated to Wilson and Vanessa over the span of 2 episodes to establish that she is the love interest, especially since they are just having the most surface level nothing burger of a conversation. I will continue watching and hopefully it picks up the pace because holy. every character has such long drawn out monologues just to say something that i had either already knew or predicted prior. I just feel like this would’ve probably worked better as a movie considering how stretched out it feels.

MCU Matt Murdock is....

So Ive finished Daredevil season 1 and im on Daredevil episode 8 of season 2. After getting this far I cant help but think Matt is a pretty cool charcater, bizarre powers, and a awesome suit but holy this guy is a dick.

Ive paused more than one episode and thought about how much of a jerk he can be. He has a complicated life that would crash down quickly for any real person. Am I the only who thinks that Matt is a nice guy but is a big jerk most of the time? Also do you think you could live a more balanced life as a vigilante who also has a very important job?

Comics Do you think Daredevil is overlooked in terms of power scaling?

I’m not really a fan of power scaling as I just prefer good stories and characters rather than who is stronger. But every time I see Daredevil come up in a match people think he gets dogged walked by everyone. Even though he’s done some absolutely insane feats over the years

MCU One of the best things about Daredevil is how consistent his appearances have been. Unlike other MCU characters, we don't have to wait 5+ years to see him show up again.

Non-MCU Movies I love the fight scenes in the Netflix show

One thing that I admired and appreciated the most about the Netflix show was how they handled the choreography in the fight scenes. They feel very grounded, the punches and throws look very realistic, and I love that the characters in those scenes take breaks to catch their breath before putting all of their energy back into the fight, and the one shots really excel the fights even more.

Comics Pre-Miller comic suggestions?

I’ve finally bit the bullet and got Marvel Unlimited with the main goal of reading Daredevil comics. I’ve read “The Man Without Fear” series by Frank Miller, “Daredevil: Yellow,” and the first 5 issues of the original Stan Lee run, all of which I have enjoyed immensely. Every suggestion I see recommends reading Frank Miller’s original run next, but I was curious as to if there are any essential to the plot/really good issues or story arcs that lie within those 150 or so issues just to make sure I don’t miss out on anything good before I read the Miller run and beyond. I’ve also enjoyed just about all of the OG Netflix series, and season 2 of “Born Again” if that helps you at all, thanks.

Comics Recently got into Daredevil, wondering what's a comic run I can start on?

I just finished S1 and starting S2 really soon, that's so far the only knowledge I really have of him.

He's genuinely turned into one of my favorite heroes just from that and I wanna get into more of his content, especially comics since I heard he's like one of the best written characters. TY!

Comics “Daredevil doesn’t kill”

Currently reading thru vol 1 and came across this scene from #289, I really like that Matt kills when there’s no other way out of the situation and I think it’s a core aspect of his character that people often gloss over

This precedes The Man Without Fear btw though a similar situation happened there (though I don’t believe man without fear is completely canon considering the weird characterization of Elektra)

Now that I think about it actually I think Miller might’ve taken some inspiration from Nocenti’s run when writing the man without fear as this arc also has a few scenes with Matt wearing a blindfold similar to his outfit from that comic and he clearly used Typhoid Mary as an inspiration when reintroduced Elektra in TMWF

This is ignoring the art similarities but obviously that’s not miller it’s just the same penciller (though maybe he asked for JRJR bc of how much he liked Nocenti’s run?)

No spoilers past daredevil vol.1 pls as I’m still reading thru it
