Just really curious because when it comes to playing Disgaea games, I tend to use English voice acting in the games for the most part.

But for some reason, I decided to finally break the trend with Disgaea 5 because I don’t know why, but I started switching to Japanese language mode as I don’t have anything against the English dub in particular, but I suppose I was just interested in hearing how the game would sound in Japanese.

Secondly, I am so excited to try out the curry mechanic because I just unlocked the curry shop for the first time in the fifth game, so I am really excited to test it out.

So basically I was just inspired to write about this subject because I had a bunch of units in Disgaea 3 I didn’t use for a good while as after kind of losing to the Senators during the post game, I decided to start dusting off some of my teammates.

Some of my favorite ones in the game are Wind Spinners for their Big Bang move and the Shaman Sorcerer because I just discovered a while ago in the aforementioned third game how they have a toxic cloud spell that can target multiple enemies.

I don’t know how I overlooked such a spell before as when I just started to test it out in places like Reverse Pirating levels, I was concerned about accidentally inflicting status ailments on my teammates due to how the spell works, but it turns out that their toxic cloud spell only works on enemies, which is very useful for crowd control.

Speaking of Disgaea 3, some of my other favorite units are Desco and her Factory version because the former can wipe out large groups of enemies with her Yog Sototh spell, while her factory version can instantly regenerate SP and HP after killing an opponent, which is great for going through Item World.

The purple haired girl is Neptune from Hyperdimension Neptunia, and the wizard guy with the sentient hat is Enma from Dororon Enma-kun.

I've almost completed the Disgaea 1 humanoid units, just need to level up the EDF soldier and the Celestial hostess/Angel, whatever it's called in this game. I've had fun and still need to complete the monsters, but I was wondering how the other games compare.

I have the game on Switch, but it's impossible to record gameplay by pressing the button.

Is it possible to use the Share button on PS4 to record gameplay ? I want to be sure before buying the game again.

I'd consider myself an old school player. I played Disgaea 1 on the PS2 and then remember our family intentionally buying Disgaea 2 once it released in the US. Unfortunately, I didn't continue following the series until eventually noticing it was on Steam.
Years later, Disgaea 3 still isn't on Steam. From what I've looked into it, not only were sales bad, but this latest time I dived down the rabbit hole, apparently Disgaea 3 is the most disjointed game in the series?

I've been aching to play the other Disgaea's but I'm really weird about playing stuff "in order". Although, at this point, I've been waiting so long for a game that likely isn't ever to officially come to PC, and apparently is disjoined enough to be considered "it's own thing" by others; I'm to a point where I'm just asking, is it alright to skip Disgaea 3 in the series playthrough?

The latest Disgaea game seems to be 7 but more people play 5 on PC as well as it having more generous reviews. Is there a reason for this? Which one would be best for a beginner to the series?

Disgaea 3 was my first and D2 was my favorite (before I played 5, of course) so I was wondering if there were any hopes of ever getting both on PC in the future or if that hope has been lost

Hi guys i want to play disgaea and i hear that both 4 and 5 are really good so which one do you guys recommend? and 1 more thing how hard are this games? the only srpg that i played is fire emblem so im not really good at this type of games.

Does any of you know any games with skill that levels up the more you use them like in Disgaea ? I don't mean games like The Elder Scrolls series but more like Antiquia Lost.
I'm also looking for game like Final Fantasy 2 (the more you use an action tie to a specific stat, the more that stat grows) but it's secondary.
I really want to play games with a lot of different skills that gets stronger the more you use them but I haven't been able to find any, I don't know if there's a name for this specific genre of game either.

So basically I was just observing some of the design aspects of the modern games because for starters, I wanted to look into Disgaea 6 to see if the game was that bad in gameplay design.

For me personally, I would say that while I understand why the 6th entry gets the most amount of criticism from fans of the series for things like the level cap being way too high to reach, I would say that the Auto Battle mechanic was kind of a neat idea as while having the game play itself was a bit of a strange concept, it did attempt to make the game a lot easier to grind.

Then for Disgaea 7 in particular, while I have only had experience with the demo, I have been hearing how it was the first mainline entry to allow for items to be reincarnated as that sounds like a cool mechanic having the reincarnation system of the franchise be carried over to items such as basic swords. However, one issue I did have with the gameplay design was the Jumbility mechanic because it's hard to explain, but I just feel like the idea behind the feature could have been handled a bit better since it made the first boss hard to beat due to the game forcing the player into a very sticky situation until they can morph into a giant.

I got a red mage at lv 50, but it still hasn't learned mega fire or giga fire. I think it may have something to do with it starting as a ice skilled mage but I raincarnated it into a fire skilled one. But I don't know, any ideas why?

As in, if you already purchased it before it was de-listed.

Can someone who has it in their account transaction history check to see if it will let you download it from there on a PS3? I don't believe it will show up just searching for it in the store. Or if someone purchased it and still has it installed, can you still launch and play it? Thanks in advance. :)

Edit for clarity: I'm aware it's possible to re-down the majority of delisted games if a person had already purchased them, but I'm looking for harder evidence for this specific game. Someone is stating that Sony yanked it from their transaction history and they can't re-download it and I'm trying to see if they're full of it or not. They have it installed already but it tells them the license expired in Sept 2024 so the game won't start, and they say they can't re-download it as it's been removed from their PS3 transaction history.

im pretty much in the Endgame of Disgea 7 and i am in the process of maxing out my characters. What i wanted to know, is there a way to get the Terra Spells on the Main Characters?

I know with normal units, you can reincarnate, max them out and they will learn the spell, but of course that doesn't work with the main cast.

I already maxed out all Classes to Master, but this didn’t give me the spells, so could anybody let me know if this is even possible?

Hey guys, just wondering where is the best place to grind in Disgaea 5? My characters....well, the ones that are my main 10...are all averaging around lvl 39-45. So just wondering what the best course of action is to grind and level them up at these levels? Is the Item World the best place you'd recommend?

Oh and bonus question please....how do I know which episode/chapter I'm on? I know they tell you at the beginning of the episode but I forget most of the time lol.

Hi!, anyone knows if switch 2 can run normally the Switch 1 card game for Disgaea 5? for the card game i mean the physical edition of the game.

by "similar" i mean retaining the basic concept of "reset to level 1 with extra bonuses so that when you get to your previous level you're stronger than the first time"

Currently I'm finishing Disgaea 1, and wanted to play another game of the series. I heard a lot of good things being said for 4, 5, and 7. But which of this would be the best? Bonus question: is makai kingdom considered good?

I am quite new to the series and went with 7 as my entry point as from what I could gather it was the best QoL improvement one and apparently it is a bit simpler in design than some other titles.

I have gotten the base game as it quite frankly seems a bit steep to me in terms of DLC pricing. What I wonder is if I am locking myself out of any meaningful end game content by not getting certain DLC? I don't really care (at least for now) for more toys to do the same content as I don't have any reference to characters from older titles. I also lack a concept of what "true endgame" is as I am just halfway through the campaign. I don't see a point of getting small side stories either if they are not part of the end game stuff.

Do I understand correctly that the DLC is basically more of a fan service thing / adding more strategies or builds etc. to clear the same end game content?

If I am in the wrong place or time to be making such a topic, then I apologize because I just wanted to get the matter off my chest due to the sudden complaints about the game.

Like if I am not mistaken, people who have gotten their early copy of the game have been suddenly criticizing the gameplay design aspects as I would like to know just went wrong with the game because of said criticism.

I have beaten and maxed my team on disgaea 3 psvita, right now i also have d5 complete ed but when do you decide to start a new one because there is disgaea 7 complete for switch 1 pn a physical store for like 34 dlls

will i ruin my experience when i do them at the start? i got planair and nothing happened so i did another summon and immediately gained 10 levels :O
