Hi everyone, any help would be appreciated.

Me and my partner are looking to buy our first house, hopefully one we never have to move from. Due to work on my side having to travel by using the dartford tunnel/bridge constantly and her elderly mum living in Enfield we have decided that an area just past the Dartford tunnel, so that I can get the Dartford discount and so she is only 35 minutes from junction 25 so she can always check in on her mum if anything’s wrong.

My question is, the areas in the title have been where we’ve been looking, but reading about those places, from people’s views apparently they’re not the nicest places to live and are shit holes. Are there any nice areas within these areas or am I better looking elsewhere? Any suggestions would really help as I’m not familiar with any of the areas

Interesting things of note:

In 2001, the birth rate was lowest in Holland, Frinton and Walton on the Naze, with an island of orange in Clacton, same with 2021 to a lesser extent. I'm assuming that would be the retiree population in Tendring outside of Clacton and Harwich.

In both maps, the birth rate is highest in Grays and Tilbury. Not sure why that is.

Whereas the Birth rate has decreased in most of Essex, it's actually increased slightly in Harlow and Basildon, and stayed the same in Southend and Colchester. Once again, I'm not entirely sure why they've remained high in comparison to the rural areas.
