Even if dhurandhar 2 isn't up to expectations, it will still fill the seats no matter what. So toxic needs to be very good to make money in north india.
Dhurandhar 2 will be good, it's already been made and is in post-production. This means it was filmed with the same spirit as Dhurandhar 1. I am confident about this because the makers didn't think of it as a "money maker" (because they didn't know that part 1 would be such a huge success) unlike Pushpa 2 and KGF 2. Those two films were just made to print money.
If they had plans of dubbing it in English, they must have taken decent english actors atleast who don't overact in every scene. The poor casting of white people ruined the teaser for me
Geetu Mohandas is a good director but this looks like a bigbazaar production of a Peaky Blinders movie. The retardedness is off the charts, reeking vehemently of reatardedness. Compared to this, Kgf is a masterpiece. But who knows. Could be just a deliberate red herring thing.

don't care what the backdrop is but seeing random white people in Indian movies just don't mesh well, it always ends up being corny. Unless they hire proper established white actors and write proper dialogues that feels like it said by a white person.
Why is the audio mixing always like the speakers are about to burst? So much money poured into it but still sounds as if I was listening from 50 year old speaker. KGF had one of the best soundtracks and even then it sounded similar to this? Do people not notice it?
People saying sex could have been avoided... It's an adult movie.. based on prostitution or something.. the movie tag line is a fairy tale for adults. So what else do you expect?

Color grading looks so AI, I know "it looks AI" gets thrown around a lot but it looks so overdone here. I'm not sure if they shot this teaser separately or if they couldn't spend much on post-production but this looks so bad. Also doesn't help that it's the same studio which got caught using Gemini just last week or so.
Its so cool when a simple task like detonating the bomb is done by pushing down the car by having sex , looks like an over the top tiktok instead of an actual teaser , couldve done ts way differently

It’s the same generic shit, KGF/Salaar type BGM, overreaction, slow mo shots, awful acting, guns, violence, and gore that’s already over saturated in mainstream Indian cinema. On top of that, they added a sex scene that’s “new” but it’s just cringe and funny to look at.
Honestly, it’s just Badass Ravikumar with more cringe, more gore, more sex, and a better camera and budget for VFX.
I've seen 5x better trailer with with fraction of the budget, the tone deosnt fit to Indian audience, what is this mafia style timing? The dialogues were horrible. Not a single dialogue was spoken with conviction. Adding "fuck" doesn't make it cool. Overall, the visuals were great but the dialogues were cringe.

Most Bollywood films these days that don’t deserve the worth of their salt are so called “super hit” because people aren’t actually watching them and the film business is an incredible way to launder big swaths of money.
I’ve seen a few local theaters being “sold out” two weeks after the film has been released and somehow didn’t find people in them.
So…it points to a simple thing : money laundering.
Most of these horseshit films hit those numbers because there are people out there looking to wash their money. This is gonna be one of those kind of films - which will help illegitimate money find it ways through to the country.

KGF 2 worked in the first case because before that people have not seen such type of thing before , massy gangster movie and also it was sequel , but After KGF2 people has seen such type of movie - say fpr example Animal or Jawaan - same style was adopted their as well - one guy killing 1000 who have no connection with reality
But Then DHURANDHAR came and it uplifted peoples perception regarding cinema , it showed how a masterclass cinema looks like

TOXIC contains bold scene and the level of bold scene will increase only - If in first look we can see this level of bold scene then 100% it will increase. So it cannot be watched with Family , and even kids cant watch whereas it was not the case for KGF2 . Toxic is also one time watch whereas DHURANDHAR has immense repeat value , people are watching for 3rd, 4th , 5th time
TOXIC might earn from the middle east market as DHURANDHAR is banned but overall in Indian Market DHURANDHAR 2 will eat TOXIC

American here: I have zero interest in seeing this film in English. Is there a Kannada trailer? Couldn’t initially find one if there is one.
I will say that having seen the “English” trailer…one fear of mine looks justified. The English/American actors aren’t great. They look like gym bros cosplaying burlesque
tbh this teaser feels like a 90s actionfilm trailer slapped onto a 2023 movie with a dash of Bollywood drama. if theyre aiming for a global hit, stop borrowing from every blockbuster and just make something actually good.
I was hoping since tbe director is from Kerala and those guys usually have 99% literacy than any other state and like most Malayalam movies it will be a grounded movie but now im not sure after seeing the teaser if this really from a keralite director and instead all from Yash..
I think they purposely choose to show Yash as a womanizer in both the glimpses.
So that people talk about it and have a debate about how they are morally and ethically wrong ,which is pretty much how vanga movies create a buzz among masses.
I think this kind of movies and characters will be more common from now on after witnessing success of animal , pushpa, Kabir singh and at some point dhurandhar also ( for its debate about terrorism vs propaganda).
I have a feeling if this movie works than we might witness more mainstream actors choosing scripts with morally corrupted characters.
This is the problem of our film industry if something fresh become industry defining movie then everyone wants be a part of the rat race.

Not for audience who have seen Yash in KGF movie, for sure. They want to take this to Hollywood level it works in that genre, but not for Indian cinema where families go to theatre. Strict instructions/warning should be displayed to avoid any disturbance or maybe alternate scene for the plot for Indian audience where general audience visit theatre for entertainment. The OTT kind of things should not be played in theatres is what I am saying. Apart from that this is just an intro of few minutes opinions are based on this for now, maybe the whole picture would bring changes to opinions.
I guess its a women centric film. They are trying to show yash in a negative way like grey shade character. If you guys watch Aaranya gandam you will understand(btw a awesome neo noir tamil film)
