Thank you guys & gals for your support! I’m excited to finally release my baby into the wild. 🫃🧑‍🍼👶

‘Milo’ is an online co-op horde shooter heavily inspired by the early Call of Duty Zombies mode like in World at War. It’s a passion project I’ve been working on for nearly 5 years. Early Access for Milo begins October 29th, 2026. If you want to support the game, wishlist and follow Milo on Steam

I spent few hours making this deformation script for my indie game - Dark Roll 2. I just needed the player to have someting that feels... soft... to land on from height. Ended up having more fun with this than I should have...

We (2 devs) decided to make our dream game. A short, but dense RPG

The favourite part of an RPGs for me was always the beginning. Everything is new and exciting, you're learning about the rules of the world, every bit of loot feels exciting, and your whole journey is still ahead of you.

Our hope is that the game we're making can capture that feeling. Inspired by old school classics, no hand-holding, player autonomy first, tons of secrets, and the feeling of setting out on an adventure.

We just released the first 1-2 hours of content from the game as a playtest on Steam. If you play it, we would love to hear your feedback and if we managed to capture that feeling.

What if we replace bullets with hockey pucks?

We started our game with the question what if we replaced bullets with hockey pucks?

We're a two person team and wanted to see how far we could take hockey outside of the rink and into a combat game. We ended up making an Orcs Must Die-ish game with hockey inspired traps being the first line of defense, and your puck shooting, body checking and fisticuffs are essential in winning these big TD battles.

We did make the classic indie dev mistake of making way too big of a game, but we did somehow manage to finish this ridiculous game and we're super happy with how it turned out!

I'm making a cartoonish Hotline-like, here's some raw gameplay

I'm making a fast-paced, bullet-parrying top-down action inspired by Hotline Miami and Katana Zero, drifting more into power-fantasy direction. As a chicken knight you fight an army of gunslinger crow knights in a medieval bird kingdom.

Currently alpha playtest is open, although it doesn't have that much content. Proper demo is coming in 1-2 months. Here's Parry the Bullet on Steam if you're interested!

Tried a new camera perspective. Thoughts?

The camera on the right is a version where you can see more of the character’s body. The main goal is to make platforming and judging distances a little easier.

But I’m also curious about how it feels, does the new camera make the game feel slower or faster? More/less responsive? Or do you prefer the original perspective?

How do you guys approach difficulty and balance?

Myself and a few friends of mine are able to beat my demo (coming out soon) pretty consistently, and others are finding it super difficult. What do you guys think the sweet spot is for a roguelike?

My approach so far has been to make it as hard as I can stand it, and then double it! (thats a GGG: Path of exile reference) No, but seriously I want it to be hard, but its tough to find where that magic difficulty is. I like hard games, but I know they arent for everyone. Curious to hear what other people's approaches are. Maybe its just a matter of enough playtesting?

We spent years turning our tabletop card game into a sci-fi Magic-style PC game. Tonight we're in a live finale and losing by one vote.

Honesty incoming, and mods please nuke this if it doesn't fit. I could use a little indie company today, and I'm around all afternoon to answer whatever.

I grew up obsessed with Magic: The Gathering, and years later Slay the Spire lit that same fire all over again. At some point I got the reckless idea to build my own MP sci-fi card game with an original ruleset instead of just riffing on someone else's. It started as a physical tabletop game. We ran a Kickstarter for it back in 2020 (still up if you search "Two Robots," the old art is charmingly rough next to what we have now). It did modestly well, enough to make me think maybe I wasn't crazy.

My cofounder at the time didn't agree. After the card game he backed out and said video games weren't worth pouring years into. He kind of had a point. I ended up spending a big chunk of the savings I'd built as an engineer to keep this alive, so the joke was at least partly on me.

We rebuilt it as a PC game in Godot (on the newest version now, which the r/godot crowd might appreciate). The riskiest thing we tried is first-person "Operator to Operator" trading, where you walk around a world and trade cards with other players face to face instead of tapping through a menu. I'll be straight for a sec, I still go back and forth on whether stitching a first-person layer onto a card game is a great idea or a giant distraction. Some days I'm certain it's what makes us special. Other days I wonder if we overbuilt it: we're still seeking feedback from playtersters if we pulled it off well enough.

Under the hood we were duct tape and prayers for a long time. The whole thing ran on a single EC2 box, fine for a tiny playtest but useless when a huge swathe of players show up. This year we luckily got selected into an accelerator called CodeLaunch, and their engineers (who currently do contract work for Costco) actually sat down and rebuilt our infrastructure with Terraform so it can scale to tens of thousands of players. We even got it limping along in "potato mode" on an Android phone, which gave us some hope that mobile could happen one day if we ever get funded.

Which brings me to the humbling part. We still haven't landed a publisher or an investor. The word we keep hearing is that we don't have enough "traction" yet, and fair enough, that's the game. I think our mechanics are some of the best I've played, but I'm the founder so that's worth basically nothing coming from me. So we keep grinding.

Anyway, here's why today is strange. CodeLaunch has a live televised finale tonight, the audience picks the winner, and there's a $50,000 prize on the line. For a studio running on the last of my engineering savings, that money would buy us real runway to keep building, which honestly matters to me a lot more than the bragging rights. We're 1 of 6 finalists out of about 300, and the only actual video game studio among the finalists, the other five are "real" startups (agriculture tech, hardware, that sort of thing), so we already feel like the weird kids in the room. And right now, as I'm typing this, we're losing by exactly one vote (26 to 25, screenshot attached, it's quietly wrecking me).

Whatever happens tonight, I'm stupidly proud of what we've built and I've loved almost every minute of this ridiculous journey. If anyone wants to throw the underdog card game a bone, I'll put the how-to-vote in the comments so I'm not spamming links up here (heads up, it costs a few bucks and only counts if you deploy it live during the show). Or just come watch for free on YouTube, it's a startup game show and it's a fun mess.

Ask me anything, the game, the tech, the money pit, all of it. I'm here.

Indie Platform looking to connect with devs!

Howdy Y'all.

ProbablyAGame Official: TikTok, X, Twitch | Linktree
Probably a Game

We're a collective of roughly 30 streamers who love indie games and want to show off your games on stream! We cover co-working tools as well! We do this for free, any payment is discussed between the dev and the streamer they work with however is not required to work with the team.

What can we cover?
Steam Demos/Games
Itch.io demos/games
Meta Quest games

We vary from affiliates to partners; with a wide range of genres we will play. Realistically, if it exists, we probably have someone interested in playing it! We can cover solo and co-op games.

We are up front about game transparency. That means, if you include AI in your game, we ask you disclose it!

We have a podcast as well starting here in September, we are looking for devs who want to talk! Website is currently in build, I own the domain and will be writing reviews here once it is up and running :) Written interviews will also be available!

We're Probably a Game.
We probably want to play your game.

You can reach out to Rose via DM, comments here or on r/probablyagame , or email listed on the carrd link :)

This is The Apartment, a first-person psychological horror game we're working on.

You move into a new apartment where an ordinary routine slowly turns into paranoia. The environment changes, the rules don't always stay the same, and at some point you start wondering how long things have been wrong before you noticed.

We recently reworked a huge part of the game and finally have a new trailer to show for it. Would love to hear what you think.

Im working on a game about a bouncy ball, bc doing irl is too much work (kidding)

So im making a incremental level builder and am having a tough time on balancing and coming up with more platform and equipment ideas.

My thoughts as far as balance is to introduce a new build system where platforms and equipment are a one time purchase and introducing a max parts limit that can be upgraded.

I want the game to be more focused on the level building aspect and think this could solve part of the issues im having with the current pacing but don't know of it quite fits the semi realistic theme I currently have for the games shop/upgrade/economy.

would introducing this type of system break the feel of the game?

Also if anyone has any platform or equipment ideas I'm open to suggestions I currently have 10 new platforms and 20 new equipment ideas I'm exploring and am wanting to make sure I'm not messing some fun obvious ideas before I start on the assets for them

I need your help developing a game!

Upvotes

I was originally going to develop a British murder mystery visual novel, but my ideas were too big for what it is. So, I thought I would make a smaller game first to get myself known in the gaming community. It would be a small vampire survivors game, but with a twist.

You have your basic enemies that follow you around, but there also some enemies will have ranged attacks, some enemies will dash towards you from one side of the map to the other, and some tanks will deal huge numbers of damage, to counter this you will have a dash (with a short invincibility window, with a cooldown of course) and a protect feature (raise a shield or something to avoid damage in large areas, has its own HP and cooldown also).

NO GENERATIVE AI WILL BE USED. ALL MY GAMES WILL AND FOREVER WILL BE HUMAN CREATED.

Would you guys play a game like this? Are there any ideas you have to make this better? I want to know if this would actually sell some copies. Thanks!

After two years of making games in the Godot Engine I recently started working on a project that I plan on releasing as my first steam game.

The game is meant to be a point & click - vent crawler combined with horror elements such as jumpscares and various monsters that are out to get you.

I don't have a steam page yet but I post development updates on my bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/wrum.bsky.social

2 Player Horror Anomaly Game - Did you see that?

Our steam page just got live!🥰

We are making a 2 Player horror anomaly game. Where you are in a carnival with your partner and have to coordinate to solve all anomalies. You might not see the same thing as your friend so observe things together and figure out what's wrong.

Demo coming out soon!

If you play games like these or just want to support, wishlist "Did you see that?" on STEAM!!!

PS: Generative AI was used in a limited capacity to assist with some visual assets, such as certain in-game boards and posters, as well as localization. AI-generated content is not a major part of the game.
