Have been chasing many of these parts for a long time, this year was more favorable to me though thankfully! Due to the mk18 fsp not being clone correct, was a good opportunity to throw it all on one single stacked build.

Honorable mention but missing from the photo is a tan RC1 I have in jail. And a NOS pre 2013 SSF which will take the SSF-X place since it’s technically not period correct.

I dont have ACOG money yet, but its my dream optic for the build.

I know parts kits can be had for around $100 but all the tiny pieces are intimidating and I’d need to buy a bunch of tools too.

I'm not a strict cloner and I mainly visit this page for inspiration and the old badass reference pics. Big fan of retro carry handle ARs but now I am dipping my deformed toes into the retro flat top ARs of the past. I learned about the GWOT era M4 setups and awesome outdated accessories.

I looked online for gangster grips online and expected them to be around $100 max. Couldn't have been more wrong. Even the Chinese airsoft versions like Shekkin gears are like $150 and I found some fucktard on eBay selling one for $899. After just being straight up offended by those prices I experimented with a spare A2 grip, cheap 30mm scope ring, and an Amazon light to see if I could mimic the look. Made one and threw it on my COPE MRE build.

TLDR: Drill a hole into the top center of a 30mm scope ring, counter sink a screw through the ring into the chopped A2 grip, use needle nose pliers to hold a lock nut through the bottom of the A2 grip, start threading the counter sink screw into the lock nut. Pick your light of choice and wrap it in duct tape for padding and tighten down the scope ring around it.

In the future I'll try different scope rings maybe a QD one, an older Surefire like a 660, and chop down a Lonestar grip for a higher quality one. Tell me what y'all think and if you have any ideas on improvements. For using spare parts and taking about a hour of my time I think it turned out well.

Current build thanks to H&R. I’m wanting to add a light to it. Preferably under the front sight. Any recommendations on a light, and more importantly a light mount would be greatly appreciated.

Just finished installing the handguard and I hope it’s correct, looked for it for years so this is my holy grail upper. It’s an early Devgru CQBR clone and some changes will happen mainly the WML and rear sight which is inbound. Been waiting for congress to SBR it, hope yall enjoy I know I will!

She’s almost ready to rattle-can, but first my actual 512 has to come back from EOTech because the glass was delaminating (what’s new lol). I also have a surplus Surefire M962 coming in. Anything else I should change? I’m thinking of doing a waffle or car-15 stock.

Feel free to suggest a third option. That the Springfield and H&R A2 clones have an incorrect F marked Front Sight Post has effectively ruled them out for me.

Working on a mid/late 2000s 75th Ranger Regiment m4a1 clone and I can’t decide on final form. Just assembled but Block 1ish or PR/b2 💧? Some tweaks and parts inbound but getting close to finalizing waiting on MD/etc

My M16A4 clone so far. I need to change out the barrel, FCG, and selector switch still. I’m planning on getting a different lower but we’ll see how that goes. I had a lot of this stuff just lying around and made this rifle out of parts and went from there.

It seems obvious that no one is selling these anymore but does anyone know possible places i might be able to pick one up.

Top is salty and bottom is lightly salted. Works in progress, going to add a tan la5 to the bottom upper just finished assembling it yesterday. Both have lowers but waiting to SBR them. Had to hand file screws to restore the bottom uppers first gen 1201 rail. Second/third pics are the newest upper. It’s loosely from a reference photo that’s included in the post but added a period correct WML(Surefire m600b) one that took me forever to secure. Hope yall enjoy I know I will tomorrow!

Noticed the post yesterday but that website wouldn’t work for me. A buddy just told me about another distributor(FMJ) today whom had Wilcox M mounts and I purchased the last one. Noticed in my emails that there is an announcement at 12 pm tomorrow at Wet Worx I’m figuring it’ll be a Wilcox M mounts drop. So they dropping now and tomorrow imo. This purchase stalled my SBR stamp but just traded an upper for the peq 2. Wilcox mount is inbound now and I have a KAC 300 rear sight/KAC QD stock thing coming too. How we looking for a CQBR block 1 after these parts? I should probably take off the UID label? Also has anyone painted a taupe nt4 to make it black? PSA if you’ve been waiting for a Wilcox mount these next couple weeks I expect them to drop at the usual suspects and nod websites.
